Small but holds everything I need for the gym
I have a small canvas duffel bag that I've used for years for the gym. It's starting to show its age, so I wanted this to see if I could retire the old one. (I especially like that this is made of recycled plastic bottles.) When it first arrived, the one thing that struck me was how small it is. I typically pack cycling shoes, flipflops, a portable battery-operated fan and some toiletries and a towel in the bag, so I wasn't sure this was going to work. It does have compartments on the ends--the kind you'd stash a shoe apiece in if it was larger. But my cycling shoes wouldn't fit, so I had to come up with another solution. (They now house my sweat bands and toiletry pouch.) This bag makes the most of its limited space, with some pockets on the inside, which make up for the lack of pockets on the outside (which my old duffel has). In the end I found I was able to pack everything I needed in this bag, and it's not even especially crowded. It also takes up less space in my car, where is resides. So the old duffel is officially retired. Four solid stars. (I've deducted one star because I can't for the life of me figure out why this is priced at $95, which seems really steep for what it is. I'm assuming it has to do with its recycled origins. )

Well made!
This bag is well made and holds up to the Vera Bradley name. The main pocket is wide open with a drink pocket in the front right corner, elastic mesh pockets lining the back of the bag and waterproof clear pockets at the top of the inside of the bag. One each end of the outside of the bag is a large pocket - one has standard lining and the other has waterproof lining and 2 vents. The zippers are very strong and durable. The bag itself is lightweight. It would be easy to get the front of the bag monogrammed, if desired - especially if you don’t mind seeing the back side stitching from inside the bag. I like that the hand handles can be shaped together with 2 sturdy snaps. I also like that the over the shoulder strap has a padded area. If I had to change anything about this bag it would be that the inside top waterproof area had a double zipper, right now there is only one zipper that spans the pocket that is sewn into 2 divided pockets - so to get to the right pocket, you need to unzip the left pocket first. The bag doesn’t have feet. The side pockets are too small for tennis shoes. Although this bag is small, it still fits a lot in it. ** Thank you so much for taking the time to read my review. I have a few duffel bags from the normal athletic brands, but I have never owned a VB duffel GYM bag [this is a new design]- and I must say that I will be using these from now on! My old gym bag was just donated! I have two types of gym bags I normally use, one for travel/overnight or large items; and one for bringing inside the gym. FUNCTION This gym bag is perfect for one pair of shoes, a makeup bag or blush and brush case, some brushes, water bottles, towels, and maybe another outfit. This is a smaller bag so it is not meant to carry literally everything, just the essential things that you may want to bring out into the gym floor. I love the separate pocket for liquid and the nice touch of adding the mesh pockets. OVERALL This is an absolute favorite! This is really premium, although the lighten up reactive material is thinner, it still has the nice VB floral design to feminize it- along with the durability that this will last for years. The reactive material is perfect for the duffel because it is soft, smooth, yet still washable. I really love that the materials of this bag are made with care, I do not see it breaking down like others I have used in the past. I would absolutely recommend this bag for casual gym days! No issues at all, its amazing! ????????

The perfect gym bag that is built to last.
This Vera Bradley Recycled Lighten Up Reactive Small Gym Bag is incredibly well made, and built to last and last! I have gotten a lot of Vera Bradley bags lately, and they all have exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and performance - and this one is no exception. While this is still a decently small bag, it's perfectly sized for taking to the gym with a change of clothes and a towel, etc. Everything on it is super durable, and it's a dream to clean and wipe down. The zippers and straps are super sturdy and strong, and I love how this is designed to hold a fair amount of items in a smaller sized bag. The fact that this is made from recycled plastic bottles is just icing on the cake for the eco-friendly people out there - and I just love everything about this gym bag - it's perfect! Another win from Vera Bradley - it gets two thumbs up from me!

Pretty small
This bag is pretty small and the shape looks a little like a diaper big. I do like the quality of the bag and straps. It feels like it will last a long time.

PERFECT FOR A CITY DWELLER WITH SMALL SPACE!
I love this bag. It's hard to justify a gym bag because I have limited storage space and plenty of bags... but this is completely collapsible and so handy. It folds up super tiny but has so many interior pockets - it keeps everything organized. It even has (what I assume is) a sunglass holder! I've owned Vera Bradley stuff for over 15 years now and it LASTS! So much so that I still use most of my original purchases from college. Yes, this bag is pricy, but I bet it will wash well and last beyond my need for it. Plus, it has a cute lining. If you're looking for a good size bag to store a spare set of clothes, water, a towel, and sneakers, this is your bag. IT won't hold a yoga mat, but it will basically disappear when it's empty and you don't need it. Love this gym bag!!!
