Something’s changed

Something’s changed on the trays. Ordered them in the past and they were always very sturdy. Ordered four and for some reason 5 were shipped and 2 were cracked. Set up a redelivery and they sent 4 and 3 were cracked. There is a slight edge on the sides now and a small bump in the middle of the trays that wasn’t there before. We’ll see how this new batch lasts, but I’m not hopeful.

A Great Tray For The Price!!

This is a large, molded plastic tray similar to what you would see in a DFAC, cafeteria, etc. Mine measures, Long side: 17-11/16ths inches, Short Side: 13-15/16ths inches, Depth: 1-1/16ths inches. The plastic material is dyed, so it is not painted - the color goes through the full thickness of the material (in case of scratches, cuts, etc). As to how sturdy? It will hold a normal meal/plate with drink and you can lift it with one hand without it flexing so much your plate slides off. Using two hands, I regularly use it to move large Boston Butts (appx 11lbs +/-) from prep area to a smoker. Loaded with as much meat as I can fit on the tray, it does just fine when lifted with a hand on each side. If you want something sturdier than this, you are going to have to find something like a fiberglass or metal tray. This tray is about as sturdy as you can reasonably expect a molded plastic tray to be. It does not fit in our dishwasher, so it has only been hand-washed and it still looks new. The surface of the tray does have a slightly raised molded texture (basket-weave design), but it is not "grippy" at all. Unless the things you put on the tray have grippy-rubber bottoms, they *will* slide just as you suspect they would on most any tray. If you can't balance it with one hand, use two hands and you will be fine. As for cutting on it -- folks, it's molded plastic; not a cutting board. You can cut on yours if you like, but if you expect it to come out unscathed, your expectations are completely unrealistic. Other than that, it is a simple plastic tray. It has done every reasonable thing I've asked of it. It is a bargain at the price and performs the job it's designed for *admirably*. I'm going to get a few more and if they ever do wear out I'll come right back and buy more as replacements. They are just too handy and this first one has proven itself to me. Not much else to be said. This is an easy 5-Stars!

Almost like the old deli line

These trays are almost like the old cafeteria line trays. Only reason one star was deleted was because they don't quite have the heft as the old ones did---less plastic? They tend to twist when carrying food to the eating area if there is something slightly more weighty on one corner. The old ones never did that---heck, they could have plated a battleship with them!

Good for under pets' food dishes

I use these food trays to place under my pets' food/water dishes. Cheaper than buying pet products. Please keep in mind that the measurement of this item is a little deceiving. It measures 18x14, but there is about a 1.5 inch slanted lip going around the tray that takes away from the actual area that can be used. So you really only have a usage area of 15x11. Hope that helps!

These are great TV trays

These are great TV trays. My husband and I are seniors and eat most of our meals in our recliners in front of the TV. It is so much easier to put everything on the tray to serve my husband and myself. They are a nice size and not flimsy at all. It was cheaper going through a vendor instead of Amazon Prime because the trays were a lot cheaper and the combined shipping for four trays was las then $10.00.

Just the right size to hold our cat's water fountain/waterfall.

We bought this to sit our cat water fountain/waterfall on. The fountain has a propensity to overflow if maintenance isn't done regularly. Exactly works like we wanted.

Easy to carry and clean.

It is a hard type of plastic, it is not too heavy and looks like the cafeteria trays from my college days.

Slightly textured for stability but easy to clean

I always need a tray! And I have had many different kinds of trays - metal glass plastic large small... but this one is the one I choose over all the other trays. Slightly textured for stability but easy to clean. Strong - NOT bendy and not heavy either. (I purchased the black, and the color is good not washed out.) I highly recommend these.
