Great for pond plantings
We've had fun repotting water lilies since we found these containers on Amazon. A little pricey, but these are made of a sturdy material and have draw strings to help reduce the size of the opening (especially hard to find).

With the right plant these are a great option
Bought these hoping they would be easier to place in my small pond than a traditional pot. I have a horsetail grass in one and a tall papyrus in the other. I love that they blend visually with the black liner and they do 'hug' the side of the pond shelf better than a plastic pot. The downside is that they are floppy, and don't do much to help support the plant structurally. We've tried filling around the root ball with rocks and growing medium but that poor papyrus is winning and continues to tip and pop himself out of the liner. If you have something stocky and stable these are a great option. If you need something to help support and stabilize a taller plant you might want to look for an alternative. As far as the actual product goes these are a nice, thick fabric without a chemical feel or smell. I didn't hesitate to use them with my fish.

Handles would be nice
I used these to plant Water Lillies in my pond, which works as expected. My only suggestion would be to add handles on the sides so that they can be lowered easier inside the pond. Holding the fabric on the sides and lowering into the pond can be challenging -- I almost dropped one out of 3 pots in the pond. I did put a plastic saucer inside the pot to make it more rigid and that helped to make the pot less flexible so it can be placed securely on top of a concrete pier.

Nice product for pond plants.
The product is such a good alternative to regular hard plastic plant containers. I have since purchased 3. Makes it so much easier for planting and submersing plants for the pond.

Large size
These are great, I had read the size but pleasantly surprised how large they really are. Had bought then for some new lillies we bought for our pond. We bought 3 lillies and put them all in one pot to get them started. Would and probably will buy again.

Pond Planter
This planter is sturdy but I wish it had a drawstring at the top, to keep the soil in, instead of it seeping into the pond.

Excellent for moving plants around in my pond
These bags are great for splitting out plants and moving them around in my pond. Remember, they are not firm pots but flexible bags. You must plant the plant differently than you would if it was a firm pot. I recommend plain clay kitty litter on the bottom, nutrients in the middle and pebbles on top to help solidify. I also like that they are black. You can't see them underwater.

Great invention!
These come in several sizes. Like them very much. Do exactly what they're supposed to. Hoping they'll last a few years. Planted water lilies in them, and the lilies immediately responded by perking up and shooting to the surface - so far, so good. (Our pond was once deep enough for fish, but it became a terrible chore to keep up with, especially with neighborhood dogs allowed to roam (grrrrr...) and use it for duck season practice. It's now only about 10 inches deep, and kept regularly chlorinated to discourage both birds and moss (don't know if it discourages dogs, but at least is likely to bleach the dark ones as a fitting gift for careless neighbors who don't keep them at home.) Lilies are planted in pots to protect from chlorine. If you do this, be sure your pots are deep - water lilies need only a few inches of aquatic soil, but like to be over a foot below surface at the root crown - translation: think in terms of 4" for planting plus 14" for cover = total depth of about 18".
