Messy...
I love the idea of helping my cat not deal with whisker fatigue. I think this food bowl is super cute with the fish for the food side and the fish jumping into the water for the water side - love it, absolutely adorable. *But* my 14 year-old cat, that I've had since a weaned kitten, has always been a tidy eater. He doesn't leave kibble or puddles of water. Unfortunately, he does with this bowl. The kibble pushes up and over the back of the bowl and the water does the same creating a puddle. I thought the water side for sure had a leak but it's how he drinks from it. I wish I had bought the tilted/angled bowls I saw when looking for anti-whisker fatigue feeding bowls. I think gravity would help redirect the kibble and water. I've tried angling this bowl but haven't found the best prop to keep it angled.

Smaller than expected. 4 month old cat has essentially outgrown it.
in defense of van ness, the manufacturer labels all the bowls are hand wash only. Those telling others the bowls are dishwasher safe are misleading. The bowls will degrade when exposed to certain conditions and to extend the lifespan of your product you should use the bowl as the manufacturer directed. that being said, I feel like the seller could mention this in the description as they also do on the label of the bowl upon delivery, this would reduce the number of complaints caused by user error. Quality and durability is amazing! The plastic is nice and thick and easy to clean, that said, I’m not sure I’d buy this again. The bowls itself are small and shallow and my cat now constantly spills food over the edge of the bowl and onto the floor, something she didn’t do when we originally fed her from a shallow Tupperware. Rather than give her an entire days portion of food (1 cup) I find I have to give her only 1/2 a cup in order for my floor to not be completely covered in kibble. My cat is also only 4 months old and the bowl for water is not nearly large enough to satisfy her thirst for more than 8 hours IMO, I find myself refilling the water three times a day. The design is cute but I don’t think it will be practical for my growing cat. Might be good for a small small small cat and one that eats wet > dry and loose foods.

Stable food/water dish is great on our cat tree
We got a new puppy and had to keep the cat's food out of reach. This combination food/water dish sits low and sturdy on the cat tree. No tipping or spilling, and the cat doesn't push it off, so no mess.

Good bowl for the money
I have multiple cats, so these dishes are very handy for feeding wet food. I rinse them and wash them on the top rack of my dish washer. So far, they are holding up very well. I would give them 5 stars, but two of my cats developed chin acne a few weeks after I started using these bowls. I switched those two back to ceramic dishes and treated the acne with Curaseb. I can’t say for sure that an allergy to the dishes caused the breakouts, but it’s something to be aware of. Other than that, I love that these are light weight, easy to clean, and a good size and design for the cats. Just wish I knew exactly what they were composed of.

The quality of this seems fine but it has 2 downsides, 1 if you use one side for water and the other for food it is difficult to pick it up to add the food without spilling the water. And 2 no matter where I put the dish it has a wobble, I thought it was the tiled flor in the kitchen, but it does the same on the countertop as well, so the issue is the dish.

I use this for my two kittens. They insist on eating out of the same bowl so I fill each side with food so they aren’t in each other’s way.

ADORABLE!
Got this for our 3 foster kittens as they’re transitioning to dry food and while I didn’t want a huge bowl, I DID want something cute and with enough surface area that all 3 could have dinner together if they chose. This has a nice wide base and is very shallow, so even with all their antics, it would be tough to get under and tip over. The elongated design with dual bowls means all 3 can sit together and nibble without anyone being crowded out. I’m sure I’ll have to size up or get something different eventually, but for now, it’ll handle dry food for 3 rambunctious two-month-old kittens.

for outdoor use
I bought this dual bowl for outdoor use, and it's perfect for that. It's heavy enough to stay in one place, easy to carry and to clean, can fit dry/wet food or food & water. I use it to feed a feral cat who like to hang around my house... although I am seriously considering buying a few more for my 7 cats; it's that practical!
