Ok, I gotta be honest here. I know this is plastic and I know it doesn’t cost very much. But I just think Fluval could have made it somewhat better. Listen, I have been buying Fluval products for around 25 years. I like the company, and I’m a fan of their products. You can pretty much be guaranteed that when you buy a Fluval item, it will be great. Now I didn’t really need this air control valve as I have dozens of these things floating around my supply bins. But when I seen this Fluval valve had a large size wing adjuster I was intrigued and wanted to give it shot. Now this thing looks pretty cool. The picture is a little deceiving and makes it look larger than it really is. It’s super tiny. Don’t get me wrong. This thing works good, but it is a bit tight to get the wing to swivel. I think my main beef with this is that it just feels very cheap. When I holding it, it doesn’t feel like an item that Fluval would slap their name on. I don’t know, maybe I’m just being nit-picky here, but I’m just not impressed with it. Honestly? I would love to see Fluval design a metal version of this. Same design and specs. I would buy one of those up real quick. And no, I’m not just hating on this cause it’s plastic. I’m just not digging how cheap this plastic feels. I seriously feel that with the strength it takes to swivel the wing, I feel I’m gonna break it. Im not telling people not to buy this. Im just giving my opinion on it. You might dig it. Like I said earlier, I like Fluval. Just not this air valve. Now I’m giving this a 4 star review, only losing that one star cause my personal issues with its cheap feel. Sorry for this long winded review. I just want people to know what exactly is going to show up to your door when you order. I hope this review helps some of you out.

Works as it should. Minute adjustments make big changes in flow.
It works for the intended purpose exactly as it should. But with any pneumatics, small adjustments result in large changes to the flow rate. It was a bit difficult to find the sweet spot of how many bubbles I wanted. At first the bubbler was scaring all my fish to the opposite side of the tank. With this, they are getting the oxygen they need while being comfortable at the same time.

Exactly what I needed!
I will admit finding something like this was pretty tough and finding a reasonably priced one was even harder. I tried like 5 before I found this one (all more expensive by at least 3 times) and this is by far my favorite! Highly recommended. Will get this product if I ever need an additional one!

Works to control air from pump to air stone
Works so far after a few weeks. Able to control flow but it is a bit cumbersome since the valve dial is small for your fingers and the slightest rotation of the dial can make a moderate difference in flow. Still, it works so far.

Doesn’t come with instructions.
I bought this because there was only ONE in the package. Why would I buy more if I didn’t know if it worked well or not? I swear I spent 20 minutes fiddling with it to get it on the lowest output. I thought it was broken. I tried everything from backtracking tubing, testing it underwater, then, finally putting plumbers tape around the pieces that stuck out because there must be a leak around the tubing, lol. I didn’t know if I should turn the knob left or right or turn it to the right over and over and over again or vice versa. Just a few instructions on if you should turn it left or right would have helped. I know not to expect much because it was only $1.49 but how hard is it to get a valve right? My Betta is scared of bubbles. He needs a filter and his 3 gallon glass flower bowl. I swear his upkeep takes more per week than my long-haired cat that Hass to be brushed every day from top to bottom .

Yes,,,,,this little platic valve works. Is it a finely tuned machine ? No. It's a cheap piece of plastic. Do you need more for a 2 gallon desk tank ? No.
