SUCTION POWER The suction power is just as powerful as you expect and it meets all expectations and justifies the highest rating it has received in many reviews. Easily beats everything else that I've tried before. A test for vacuuming a dirty car showed how efficient and useful it is. Cuts down the vacuum time by a lot. Another plus is that it can handle wet messes just as well. BLOWER EXHAUST Like bigger models that I was hoping to avoid, it has a permanent powerful hot exhaust that is also known as the blower. There is no way around this. All vacuums must create an exit for the suction. The blower functionality from the other end can't be turned off. The suggestion is to insert the sound muffler that comes with the accessories to reduce the sound and may decrease the intensity of air flow output and it works wonders. It works very well in eliminating the hot nasty blast and reduces the sound by a lot. But because it is hot and the foam is made of petroleum based materials, it will produce a chemical like odor. That will go away with time but at least in the beginning sessions of operation, the odor is very unpleasant. Not suggested for use in closed spaces initially. Also don't overlook the usefulness of a blower function. It can dub as a leaf blower, replace compressed air can functions like cleaning computer boards if you fit it with the right adapters and even help inflate things. DESIGN Overall, it is better than competition both in terms of accessories and size. I also like the attempts for helping the user organize the accessories and the hose. There are places to put in the attachments so they won't go missing. INCREDIBLE PRICE It is worth every penny and beats every other model I've tried/owned. You would think a combination of all this which is a rarity in all other models would be very costly but it isn't. The bags are priced very reasonably and easily replaceable/accessible. No price gouging on frequent replacement and throw away designs. NEEDS A CARRYING/STORAGE CASE Difficult to find any storage or carrying case for it. I wish they made one for the unit.

Small footprint

I like that this combines great suction with a small footprint. Easy to maneuver around the garage between cars, or out to wherever it's needed. The dust bag is a bit finicky to install and swap, but is also optional. Cord length is adequate. Overall much better than my last Vacmaster vac and blower combo.

Great overall machine.. Heavy duty strong suction did wonders on my flooded floor from rain ☔.. I won't live without anymore.. This always comes with me no matter the house ????

This thing sucks!!

Well, literally! It’s an awesome little vacuum. I wanted something small, easy to handle, and had enough suction to clean a dirty vehicle. The cord length is generous, only about 3’ short of being perfect for me, but, hey, I’ll just use a small extension cord. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for something small and powerful. It really does a good job, and has handy attachments to get in those tough spots.

Great little shopvac!

I had reservations about the size of this shopvac and the small-ish 1.75 inch diameter hose. I purchased it to keep my pick-up reasonably clean on the interior while traveling the country with my travel trailer. I had dirt, gravel and debris from a half dozen states on my floorboards. This little vacuum did a great job getting everything clean. I use and recommend a vacuum bag with this unit. It keeps the inside of the canister clean and makes the internal filter last longer (indefinitely). Also, if you don’t use the foam dampener on the exhaust air port, you will get significantly stronger suction from the unit. I highly recommend this shopvac.

This little vacuum really has a lot of suction. The best shop vacuum that I have owned after over 40 years in the automotive paint and body repair business and using all types of vacuums I would rank this one on the top. You won’t be disappointed

Vacuum is excellent, has very good suction and the design is well thought out. Unfortunately it is not compatible for the uk, as it works on 110v.

Incredibly compact and powerful shop vac - great value for money

Pros: - Relatively compact design. Not too heavy, easy to bring around - Very strong suction, especially when you consider the size - Good array of accessories, perfect to use for car detailing at home - Super solid build quality. The plastic, while light, is super durable Cons: - None really Overall: This is my first Shop vac and I have to say I’ve been really happy with this. While this isn’t your conventional shop vac, with no wheels on the base, it’s super portable and well built. Love the large array of accessories. I use this for odd jobs and to detail my car, which this has been perfect for. For the money, this is a really great value. Overall would recommend!

I had originally left a 3 star review on this item, not because it's not an excellent vacuum, nor because the seller didn't live up to their promises, but because it is on the UK Amazon site, but comes from Florida and is 120V rather than 240 and I thought it valuable for other UK buyers to be aware of this. I did not think the seller was purposely trying to mislead. They have since responded to me thanking me for the feedback, stating they are making improvements to clear up any confusion and presumably point out that a transformer will be required for European use. Consequently I have upgraded my rating to 5 Star.

Exactly what I needed

I was looking for a reliable, portable, light shop vac that has a decent hose length and as much suction as possible and ended up buying this Vacmaster "Beast." I'm really happy with this vacuum and it's exactly what I wanted. So, in terms of each of those things I was looking for: Portable and light - this vacuum is easy to pick up and carry. It doesn't have wheels, but I have a much larger shop vac with wheels so I didn't need that. In fact, I prefer this because I can hold it in one hand while on a step ladder or walk around with it easily (things I can't do with my larger shop vac). It has a 5 gallon chamber, meaning it is quite compact. Decent hose length - mine came with a 7 foot hose and various attachments. Perfect for what I wanted. Strong suction - this is rated at 5.5 HP which is just as strong as my larger shop vac and stronger than the Dyson I use inside. No problem picking up debris and great for vacuuming a car. You can also reverse the hose and use this as a blower. Reliable - so far, so good. It seems well-built and time will tell. I've had it for a few months. Overall, it's a great little shop vac!
