Smooth and consistent with no smearing

I'm the type of person who likes to find a good pen and stick to it. As a left-handed person whose hand tends to drag over words as I write them, it is extremely important for my pens to dry quickly. These pens do that extremely well. I haven't noticed any smearing from the ink. I've also had problems with the consistency of other pens in the past, where the smoothness of the ink changed between individual pens from the same pack, with some pens only letting out ink sporadically to others flooding the page. I never had that problem with these pens. The pens were consistent and allowed me to write until the last drop of ink. I do admit that the ink got a little lighter on the last couple of words, but honestly, the consistency of the ink lasted longer than any other pen I remember using. This is my new favorite pen. I just wish they came in more colors.

They live up to the reviews… EXCEPT!

The first time I purchased these, they were on a red and white cardback, and they definitely lived up to the reviews. I buy a package about every 10 weeks and use them at work (they outlawed gel pens). After that first purchase, the packages that arrived were a basic black and white - and at that point, I noticed the ink began clumping. Not cool on official documents for work. Not sure if they made a formula change, but have experienced clumping ever since. Hoping they get enough complaints that they address it.

Quality pens!

Best Ballpoint pen I've used. No leaking or smudging. You can buy refills too, which reduces waste. Excellent quality -made in Japan, not disposable crap from China.

Very good pen but the line isn't very black.

Very nice to handle, and the 0.7 mm line is good for many uses, but the line isn't quite as black (intense) as I would like for general writing. Probably the best for some purposes.

Great fine-tip pen that doesn't bleed thru thin paper.

Love this pen - I always order the .7mm and it's perfect for writing in small spaces like my 5-year journal and day planner, but not so fine that I can't use it in bigger spaces too. The ink flows smoothly and doesn't smudge. Also, as a Hobonichi day planner user, these pens also work on their special thin paper and don't bleed through. I still typically use a special pen for my day planner, but I can definitely get away with using these pens as well, which is nice for the price point and the availability.

Fine line quality, fast-drying (good for lefties)

I am always searching for the perfect pen, mainly because I'm left-handed and dislike the smearing when the ink doesn't dry immediately. This Uni-ball Jetstream gel pen eliminates that problem. Being retractable eliminates a separate cap, too. I bought the .7 mm version, but the line's a little fine for me, so I'll probably buy the 1.0 mm version before too long. Thanks, Uni-ball.

slickest writing tool ever

I was so ready to be happy with these

I bought these for drawing, specifically because of some online reviews and the fact that they were archival. Unfortunately the flow isn’t even, and the pens leave dollops of ink on the page at times. The ink is smooth, but almost too smooth, sort of flows too quickly and creates a build up. Seems the cheaper ball points work better for creating … unfortunately they don’t come with archival ink. A bit disappointed in these pens.

Nicely built pen, very qood quality and smooth mechanics. These are built in Japan, something you don't see everyday on many things. I got the 0.7 fine point since most of my other pens I've used are fine points and I regret my decision. I've since ordered the 1.0 bold refills and I find they are way smoother and easier to write with than the fine point. Quick drying ink does work well, being a leftie it can be a struggle to find a pen that doesn't smudge, this one isn't bad, it does dry quick but there are other cheaper pens that will dry even faster and not smudge. But for the quality and smooth writing I think the Jetstream will be my new pen of choice.
