Great for roller derby, though a bit warm
I bought these to wear in addition to my other safety gear when playing roller derby. I've taken quite a few skates to the shins this season, leaving me with painful lumps on my legs that take months to heal. These work very well for that purpose. The pads in the front and inside have stopped me from getting any additional sizeable bruises on my shins, so huge plus there. That said, these do run small. I bought the large and had to buy velcro from a craft store in order to extend the length of the straps. Only the bottom of the four straps actually fit around my leg (and then only barely), and while I wasn't thrilled to have to shell out MORE money to use them, I wasn't going to go without. The only other downside to these is that they obviously are not breathable, like, AT ALL, and after just our hour long practices, I'm left with a visible sheen of sweat down my shins when I take them off. Also the velcro that I've had to add makes them slightly less comfortable since I wear capris and not full-length leggings (the velcro digs in a bit). I'm not sure if the velcro they come with is more comfortable, so that might just be a me-problem. Overall... I definitely am glad I bought them, and will continue to wear them, but they do see to be almost in kid's sizes rather than adult sizes.

Just what I needed
Got these for riding my new (65lb!!) EUC. My shins and insides of my legs were taking a beating holding the machine up, and being inconveniently in the way when it falls -- which happens quite a bit since I'm just learning to ride. These turn an "OW!! Not again @+&$*/*!!!" Into just a dull thud, then back on for another try. Very well made and comfortable.

I love these !!
My lower legs are so scarred up from years of pedal bites, brush stabs, etc and as I have gotten older my skin tears more easily. I don’t fall on my knees much and most knee pads don’t extend past mid shin. I have worn G form shin guards which help but their fabric is quite thin and I have been cut right through them many times. These guards are brilliant ! I don’t do bike acrobatics so I removed the plastic inserts on the side and put them in the front pocket for a lower profile. That left plenty of thick protective material on the sides and back.. The velcro fasteners allow for a good fit and the guards are very comfortable without any rub spots. I am female with smaller legs and the size Small work well. They actually rest on my shoes which is fine. I don’t notice them being warm as I don’t wear anything else on my legs. I wish I had found these years ago !

Cheap quality, uncomfortable
I got them out of the box, put them on, and took them right back off and sent them back for a refund. The Velcro straps on the back are a sharp kind of plastic material that is extremely uncomfortable and I could see it easily rubbing your leg raw after and hour. Also all the stitching and materials are extremely cheap quality. This is unique to these because I’ve found others that are very comfortable and not even noticeable as well as great quality.

Big calves large won’t fit you.
I am a decent size guy, 6’ and 248 lbs, decently fit BUT large size doesn’t fit. I like the look and feel of the product, but had to give them away to someone smaller than myself. If you have large calves these probably won’t fit in large size. Also this seller didn’t ship my item until I threatened cancel/refund which even then was still almost 3 weeks after purchase. I am not rating the item less because of the seller’s issues. But buy from a different seller

Wear them every week and would buy them again
Comments from the 13-year old that wears them: These are great. I love everything about them, except ... my only complaint is that they turn after a few hours. The part that should protect the front of my shins slides to the outside and leave my shins too exposed. This might just be my weird shins, I don't know. And it only seems to happen once every couple of hours. I love them and would buy them again (hah! I'd get my dad to buy them again, that is). Questions from the dad to said 13-year old: Do they grip enough at the top? So they don't slide down? -- That question doesn't matter. They rest on my shoes and can't slide down. Do you think the sizing was accurate? -- Yes High quality material? -- Yes, no issues with gripping, or sweat causing them to act funny. They aren't tearing in any way. Are they 'cool' enough, or do you feel nerdy with them? -- They are under my pants, no one can see, it doesn't matter

Good pad - But hot and doesn't breath well.
I got a size Large as I have been known to have big calves and this guard just barely fits. If you're interested in getting this pad some things to note are - 1. It covers almost your entire shin. It allows for great cover from pedal slips and keeps you feeling protected. 2. It doesn't breath well. This is the price of protection, but for a rider like myself that climbs for 35 minutes straight before going downhilll, it got hot and uncomforatble quick.

great protection, comfortable, great look
I purchased a pair of these guards because my teenage son was thrashing his shins on his pedals at least once a week. He wanted to stay with sneakers instead of clip-ins so we had to explore our options and purchased a pair of these bad boys. Now, his shins are protected not only from his feet slipping off the pedals but also from low lying branches, pricker bushes, and other potential dangers as he flies through trails in the woods much faster than he ever should.

2x right leg protectors.
Really annoyed as I have received 2 right leg protectors instead of 1 left / 1 right And it was the last stock as now saying they're usually dispatch within 1 to 2 months.

Breathable and Comfortable!
These are exactly what I was looking for. They come as a pair - this wasn't clear to me when I made the purchase. They fit perfectly (I used their sizing chart), are made with nice, breathable material and are comfortable. They are padded just enough to protect your shins but not so much that they are a nuissance. My only con is that I paid for the quickest shipping but they still arrived over a week after I placed my order, it took them a long time to ship so I wouldn't waste my money on quick shipping in the future. This con is not against the product itself though, only the seller. I would recommend these pads to anyone who rides.
