Good trap.
I bought this over the Promar because it is slightly smaller. I work off of a kayak with surf launches and size matters. This is a very well built trap and should last for several seasons. The frame is plastic coated. The springs that expand it are substantial. The rot cord requirements were met 2 ways, 3 strands of the weave are sliced and rewoven with cotton and the cord that holds the opening closed has a cotton section. It is a draw string closure, not a door. I weighted the 2 doors with a little lead wrap that I had because they are light enough to move in current, but that’s pretty much recommended for any trap. I bought 2 of them and was successful with both. On the second trip out, I decided to leave them over night. On my return, one was gone. There were cart tracks on the beach, but the wind had been blowing, so I don’t know if it was drift or theft. I will be adding a couple of dive weights to the remaining trap in case it was drift. That is something I should have done anyway. What cost this trap the star is the clips that hold it in the collapsed state. They are not substantial enough. I think they would work fine if you were on a boat or pier and could hold it down. On a kayak, I need one hook to hold while I compress the other side, and this only happens if I bend the hook as tight as possible. I expect that metal fatigue will cause breakage soon. If I can find a larger gauge stainless wire, I’ll replace them before my next trip out. Bottom line: I will buy these again. The lower price, quality and size makes them a good buy.

Too light weight
A great design, but I had to weight it down to keep it from drifting in tide current. Fram could be a heavier stainless steel wire/rod. Great collapsible design for portability.

Great trap, bought it after a friend bought same ...
Great trap, bought it after a friend bought same one. Did well on trip crabbing off a pier. Doesn’t fold well though, clips don’t keep it retracted so had to tie it down to keep it folded

Easy to use and store
Christmas present for our Granddaughter. She loves to go crabbing. Light weight and easy for her to use. Perfect!

Not for blue claw
For one there was a hole in the bottom. Blue claw crabs can get out easily. Watched nice sized blue claw crabs wiggle our before i could get the trap onto the dock. No good.

It seems durable, but can not trap any crab.
There's only 2 entrances, and the crabs must have IQ about 120 to get in. In the end, I only got some snails while my friends using rings nets caught a dozen of blue crabs.

Broken and sort of repaired... junk
Nothing says quality like broken before you bought it new and then shoddy repair work. Did they at least use the same material? Nope, they used stuff that'll disintegrate in the sun.
