Love these! Exactly what I wanted.

These arrived quickly. They're exactly as described and pictured. I like the length (compared in pic next to standard knife), I didn't want a really short spreader. These are light weight. I like the tip shape for spreading versus knife-like shape. I think they're a good price for 6 spreaders. The flamingo embossing is great.

Matte Stainless Handles With Stamped Flamingo Design

I selected these demitasse spoons in part because of the Towle name. I figured that they would be substantial for their size, and elegant in their design. When I cut them free from their cardboard holder (more on that later), I was somewhat disappointed that the handles didn't feel as good in my hand as I expected, even if the stainless itself is relatively thick; the underside feels a little sharp. I'm also not sure how I feel about the matte stainless top of the handles, as unique as it is. The flamingo is stamped all the way through, with the underside showing the design as well. The top edges of the handles have a pretty, delicate crimped design. Despite my mild reservations, these are indeed quality stainless demitasse spoons. I selected these spoons for use in coffee, cappuccino, espresso, and jam. I love using demitasse spoons in little bowls of honey and jam when I prepare a cheeseboard. While the bowl part seems a little large for espresso, it's the right size for those other uses. I don't mind that, though, because I don't add sugar to espresso -- only my guests do. Towle's packaging is dreadful, though, because the spoon are held in place on the cardboard with thick plastic lock-ties. Scissors couldn't cut through the plastic. My husband had to take the spoons down to his workshop to cut them free with a box cutter. Even then, it took effort. The company really needs to find a different way of packaging these. I wish I could say that I'm in love with these spoons. While I like them, I had hoped for a slightly better hand-feel. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann
