A good basic home flashlight

I bought two of these, mostly because of the lower tech feature of having a simple push button on/off switch and it provides plenty of light for household needs, including short term repair tasks.

Pretty basic but does the job!

I like this flashlight especially that it's water resistant for the price. Brightness is not bad at all. The caribiner is handy. I got the green color in that I'm trying to make these easy to find and stand out in my house, but also distinguishable from other flashlights I have stashed in different places. Rubber coated for an easy grip and rugged enough to drop it from 3-5 feet onto a firm floor and not worry about it breaking the first time.

Very bright even in daylight! + Batteries included!

I've been using this when working with engines and even in daylight, this flashlight is very bright. Really nice and don't have to deal with using the flashlight on my phone. It seems rugged, and has a nice rubber feel to it. And batteries also included in the package! How cool is that?

Dorcy Review plus Energizer Flashlight Comparison

I purchased both Dorcy and Energizer Waterproof Flashlights and this Review is for the Dorcy Flashlight. It also contains some information to compare it with the Energizer waterproof flashlight. I've broken my review down in two parts. Part 1 is short and focuses only on the Dorcy Flashlight. Part 2 is more detailed and compares the Dorcy with the Energizer *** PART 1: *** The Dorcy Waterproof Flashlight is lightweight, waterproof flashlight with three LEDs, reflector and carabiner clip. The price at the time of my review was $11. I have purchased three (3) of these Dorcy flashlights to date (one for my boat, one for my kayak and one for my quad). My oldest flashlight is three years old and still works. I would recommend this flashlight. *** PART 2 *** Here's how the Dorcy and Energizer waterproof flashlights compare. *** Waterproof *** First off both Dorcy and Energizer flashlights are waterproof. They float on the surface and work when submerged. *** Size & Weight *** Both flashlights are similar in size and shape although the Dorcy flashlight weights slightly more. *** Brightness LEDS *** The Dorcy Flashlight has 3 three LEDs while the Energizer has only one LED. The Dorcy flashlight is the clear winner here and is much brighter and illuminates much farther than the Energizer. *** Build Quality - Features *** The Built Quality of the Dorcy Flashlight is better. The Dorcy flashlight feels more substantial and solid when compare to the Energizer which feels lightweight and cheap. The on/off button on the energizer flashlight is harder to press than the energizer. The design and grip of the dorcy flashlight is better and it includes an integrated Spring Loaded Carabiner clip while the energizer has only a loop hook. The winner here again is the Dorcy. *** Price - Value *** At the time of my purchase the Energizer Flashlight was $8 while the Dorcy Flashlight was $12. At the time of my review the Energizer Flashlight is now $20 while the Dorcy is now only $11. At todays current price the Dorcy is a better value. ••• Conclusion ••• Both flashlights are waterproof, float and work well when submerged in water. At $11 the Dorcy Flashlight is not only Brighter, Stronger, More Durable and has a carabiner clip but it's $9 dollars cheaper than the current price of the Energizer. Excellent product for the price.

A neat and solid feeling product, far better than most in its price range. The quality fits the Dorcy reputation, so it wasn't a surprise. It is fairly bright for a torch of its size and feels strong with no flexing in my grip as it is held. I like the fact that it takes AA batteries rather than the tiny AAA batteries, because alkaline cells of the AA type contain about three times the energy of AAA cells but cost about the same amount, making the AA cells far better value. The only downside is the strange spread of light with coloured fringes in, a bit distracting until you get used to it. It is a minor disadvantage that really doesn't bother me, you will have to decide for yourself it that is the case for you. And yes, it floats, even with batteries in, because I dropped it in the bathroom washbasin to test it. No ill effects at all. Definitely recommended.

So far, I really LIKE IT: Bright large light, sturdy with a good rubber grip. The battery insert is a bit trying and should be clearly marked with ( - or + ) ion sides; but works good and is heavy set not cheap plastic. Its worth it! Thx.

Rugged and bright - ideal!

Great torch. Nicely coloured and very bright. Great for finding my cats on a dark night. I haven’t tested the waterproof element yet but I will update it once I have. This torch was reduced in price so it made it even more affordable at half the price. Feels very rugged too which will last for years to come.

Great LED flashlight you can rely on

This is a terrific flashlight. I own four of them, scattered about my home. My first two, after a year of constant use, still work great, the others are new. They cast a very large, bright beam of light and the on/off switch never fails despite hundreds of iterations. Feels good in the hand thanks to the ribbed rubber grip. It's not too big nor too small but just the right size for most hands. A set of batteries lasts long enough you forget when you last put them in; it's easy to install new batteries. Have not tested the ability to float but I'm sure it will. Terrific value.
