Buy medium if size 8-9.5. Nice though!

I ordered large but they were a bit long in the heel. Medium is a perfect fit for my size 9.5 feet. Nice product, though.

Wool year round.

Love these socks. Great for Scouting.. Yes, they are BSA approved (atleast I was told)

Love these socks for camping and hiking. I've tried A LOT of different types of hiking socks and these are the best. I am an assistant scout master for a local Scouting BSA troop and found these socks are the best for old tired feet. After 6 days of long camping and walking, the correct socks are as important as the boots you choose. Don't buy the BSA overpriced socks and buy these. I bought 6 pairs and so glad I did.

High Thorlo quality with an inexplicably narrow fit

I (used to) buy Thorlos 4-5 pairs at a time, so I know what kind of quality I'm getting. Except here, where ordering the same size I've ordered in all their other Hiking and trail socks for decades, I got socks (labeled the same size) which I couldn't get on my feet by any craft known to man. I'm not sure what the point of changing that was, but my time with them has more or less ended. Five years ago I would've been a spokesman, but they've just been surpassed by too many others that make socks that aren't just as incredibly comfortable, but last more than 6-12 months.

I love Thorlos socks. The thickly padded hiking socks are in particular wonderful. Cushy, strong, no slipping around. They will always be part of my hiking ventures.

Imperfect stitching and on the small side

The presentation of these socks is brilliant although I was a little disappointed to see loose threads hanging out of the weave. They looked small and also felt small, and after a day's wear I had noticeable marks from the tops above my ankles. They look a real mess on the inside, as I turned them inside-out to wash them. The exterior looks good and it was great to see something made in the USA for a change, but the sizing was a little disappointing and there's the worry of shrinkage, should there be any. I bought the Large size because at the time the size chart suggested my shoe size, 10.5 UK/AUS or about 11 US was accommodated. However, based on my experience I would definitely go X-large were I to buy them again. That's probably unlikely as the price seems to be climbing and I'm not willing to pay AUD26 for one pair when there's such a limited range of colours (only the red/green as purchased and "silver") and many alternative makes.
