Small and won't stick to the glass
I've bought several styles of the thirst stone cup holders and they are basically divided in two types. Small thick holders and wider, slimmer holders. The slimmer ones twnd to have more complex printed designs (wine themed, etc) but they are horrible in that iced glasses stick to them and when you pull up your glass, up goes the holder with it, then it breaks the weak bond with the glass, falls and cracks. They are trash. But the small thick ones like this one here don't do that so they are my go to. Design is also gorgeous, has no pixelation and has bright colors

These are not the same stone coasters I got 20 years ago, think the coating may be to blame
About 20 years ago I was gifted what I think/thought were Thirsty Stone Coasters. Those were 100% natural and super absorbent. Over the years they got dropped/cracked and I decided to buy some new ones. These look awesome with the print/painted patterns but I think it affects the absorbancy of the stone. Water tends to pool/puddle on the top. We live in a humid environment and a cold beer on these will quickly over flow the stones on to the table. I'm wondering if sanding the painted/printed surface might open the pores or is it just going to take time for them to wear enough to start absorbing water through the print?

This is the only coaster worth buying
Love these coasters! These look great and definitely do the job. This brand has a ton of patterns to choose from, but we love this one the most. They would make a great housewarming gift!

Design is pretty, just not naturally part of the stone
Have enjoyed using thirstystone coasters with family, so bought my own sets. They work well for protecting surfaces from wet glasses as they proclaim to. I bought two designs, but was a little disappointed with this one only because I was already familiar with the natural, undecorated sandstone ones. They are all slightly unique because or the natural variations in the stone. From the picture and description, I hadn't realized this design was a printed one and they are all exactly the same. I was happy with another printed design I bought because I knew it was printed. I had incorrectly assumed this one was "natural", since the printed design depicts what was originally a real stone in all likelihood. I was just expecting some natural variation but didn't get it. This may have been an oversight of mine, and the quibble is not worth it for me to return them, but I was a little disappointed. Four stars instead of five because I thought the description should have been more explicit that the surface was a printed stone design instead of natural like their other sets.

Sandstone Absorbs the Condensation Well
These are as described. I had a similar set several years ago that literally kind of dissolved eventually - but that was like after more than a decade of use. Know how a glass can "stick" to a regular coaster, so when you pick up the glass, the coaster comes along and then crashed to the table? That won't happen with these because the surface is porous. These are attractive, not natural, but attractively finished.
