Helped my daughters eczema so much! Way less itchy!
My 10 yr. Old daughter had extreme eczema. She had wounds covering most of her body at one point. After spending thousands on everything from dozens of creams, lotions, soaps, pajamas that covered her hands so she couldn't scratch, an air purifier, lots of prescriptions, etc. I found this seaweed. I bought it and let it sit on the counter for eight months because of some negative reviews I'd stumbled on. I was afraid it would exacerbate her condition. Boy, was that a mistake! We've found a few products we use daily to give her relief from the itching and this is one. This is actual seaweed people! So if you buy seaweed, don't give a 1-star review because it looks and smells like seaweed. When you open the bag you'll find a white mesh pouch and dried seaweed. I usually fill the pouch with a third of the seaweed in the bag. Then I hang the pouch under the faucet while I draw my daughters bath. It usually turns the water green. Big surprise- it smells like seaweed! It's not our favorite smell. I believe that my water has metal and lots of other stuff in it. Seaweed absorbs heavy metals, nuclear waste, and other toxic materials. That's why I like to let the water run through the seaweed pouch. Some days I let the bag float around in the tub once it's full, other days I'll add tea tree disinfectant to her bath after the water is done running and i'll take the seaweed bag out before doing so, so it doesn't soak up the tea tree. Before we used this product my daughter would get out of the bath just as itchy ( if not more) than she went in. One of the hardest things about healing eczema is that it's very itchy, and when scratched, the skin will turn into open wounds immediately. It's called the scratch- itch cycle. I didn't sleep well for 18 months due to it and it's every parent of a child with eczema's worst nightmare. I rent a condo and couldn't find a good water filter for my bath tub faucet, one that would filter heavy metals, and didn't want to buy one for the entire home, it's just too much for a place that isn't mine. I thought of using seaweed and found this product. It has been so amazing! We use it daily. As I mentioned, I put a third of the seaweed in the mesh pouch. I use the pouch for three baths, three days in a row, then I dump the seaweed out and put another third of the seaweed in. One of the black bags of seaweed will last us nine baths. One time I decided to try to live life without the seaweed. It was a nightmare! My daughters skin got all red and itchy and I was up half the night trying to soothe and calm her skin and stop her from scratching. I can't live without this product. I've got it on auto ship. It is a bit messy. I usually just open the mesh bag and grab handfuls of seaweed and shove them in there. Sometimes i'll stretch the mesh bag over the opened top of the black bag and try to pour it in. Sometimes some seaweed ends up on the floor but is easily swept up. Sometimes loose seaweed ends up in the bathtub but we have one of the wire screens you can place in your drain. When my daughter starts to drain the tub she puts the wire screen in the drain and this collects any loose seaweed. These screens can be purchased at almost any store from $2-$5.

I’d rather just go swimming in the ocean and save money
This product is not the same as the individual packets I used to purchase at Target and unfortunately, I misread the packaging and found out later that it is just seaweed. I found it rather complicated in trying to pour the seaweed bags contents into the mesh-type bag they send with it. It says there’s enough for 4 baths using a fresh mesh bag (as you can use one serving as many times as you want for up to a week), but they don’t provide anything to measure and I barely have any seaweed leftover from the one time I poured it into the mesh bag. I had accidentally had one bath without heeding the warning of not letting it float loosely in your tub, as I really thought it would soften up, but it never did. Despite all of this, it’s a nice alternative to those who miss the ocean and don’t mind the smell of seaweed. I noticed people complaining about the smell, but I mean, what did you really expect it to smell like?

Great product EXCEPT for that awful net pouch
I first found this product at a health food store. It came with a muslin bag. No muss, no fuss, no mess. AND I lost a couple of pounds with my first bath (I have a sluggish thyroid). AND my super-dry skin didn't bother me for a whole week! Then I bought it from Amazon. For whatever reason, it came with a nylon net pouch (the packaging is identical so no idea why this would change). The net pouch is difficult to manage (and I have a coordination disorder, which made it a nightmare to work with). Horrible seaweed mess all over my bathroom counter and floor, just from trying to get the seaweed into an unmanageable (and environmentally unfriendly) nylon net pouch. Bring back the fabric pouch and you've got a customer for life. This is a great product, but that nylon pouch has got to go.

Major decline in quality.
I have been using this whole seaweed bath for years now. The product in the bag was as described: WHOLE seaweed, which included the little bulbs, seaweed branches, leaves and stalks (not sure of the lingo) intact. Since I LOVE the actual product, I have continued to buy it in spite of what I’m starting to realize was not an error during manufacturing or packaging, rather a sharp decline in the overall quality of the product. The best way to describe what is in the package is what I described above, small, broken pieces, bordering on what could pass as dust. It’s almost like someone swept up after a day’s work at The Seaweed Bath Co. and packaged the contents of the dust pan as the whole seaweed bath. This brings me to one gripe I’ve had for quite awhile with this company. The bag for the seaweed was changed some years back from cloth to this plastic loofah tube with a locking drawstring on one end. In addition to this being very difficult to load, the size of the product is so tiny that these “bags” are basically ineffective for keeping the product from getting everywhere; I use some small fabric bags instead. I love the benefits that I feel I get with this product but longing for the quality that I had grown accustomed to prior to the product being high quality. I had been excited to see the price of this product go down from $12.00/bag to most recently, $7.99/bag, so I guess I have my answer as to what happened and I appreciate Seaweed Bath Co. charging less for an inferior product. I’ll continue to buy, because I love the product, but please, someone look into fixing this issue.

Looks like the stuff you’d sweep off the floor in a real seaweed bath factory
Poor quality. Tiny bits and stems vs full seaweed pieces from made in Ireland products. It is impossible to get the micro bits into the single use plastic mesh bag without a helper. Oh and the best part *sarcasm* seeing bug parts and dead earwigs floating in the tub with you.

No results
Didn't seem to do anything for my skin and left a slippery yellow film in my tub. Would not buy again
