Great gift for a cat lover!
Gave this to my friend who rescues cats. She LOVES it! Great for all sorts of drinks. We have such hot weather: we are used to our drink cups "sweating." It's nice to have cups with cold beverages and no condensation!

We've had Tervis cups for a long time as they are practically indestructible. I bought this adorable cat one for my daughter. She loves it and it's the trusty Tervis cup we've come to know and love.

Heaven is full of cats and coffee.
This tumbler is everything I expect from Tervis products. This isn't my first tumbler from them. The other is used for water only. I really wanted something specific for coffee. This does a great job at keeping my coffee hot even when it's in the 60s in the room. I fill it full and it stays at a hot temperature for a couple hours. It stays warm for a long time after but I really need my coffee to be hot for maximum enjoyment. This tumbler let's me do that without a trip to the microwave every 20 minutes. The design is awesome. It is raised so I would wash with care it keep the decals looking great for longer. I've had it for over a month now and it still looks brand new. Oh, and the outside of the tumbler doesn't get even warm to the touch from the hot beverage inside. The temp of the outside of the mug can get hot though if you leave it in the sun. Buying a handle takes care of that but I don't like covering the decals up so I am just careful where I leave it. I highly recommend it if you like to keep your beverages hot or cold for a long time. Tervis tumblers work really well.

Nice tumbler, very cute, Keep it upright - liquid comes out of vent hole.
The large size is great, fits in my car cupholder, seems to be fairly thermal (hot and cold) even though the tumbler walls are very thin compared to other vacuum-sealed containers that I have. Heat can still transfer through the large lid so it's not going to be as insulated as a thermos-style container with an insulated lid. The lid fits well. I am guessing that a number of people have had trouble with it because they don't open the lid when they are putting it on or pulling it off, and then they have trouble with the air not escaping, and the air pressure keeping the lid from going down all the way. I do use a little twist too if the lid doesn't push down right away. I knew it wasn't going to be water-tight when I bought it, but it's really a shame because the only thing that keeps it from being pretty safe for putting into a bag upright (and from being a perfect travel mug) is that the lid was not designed so that the tiny vent hole gets plugged up when the lid is closed. The large rubbery (silicone?) plug that goes into the main opening is actually pretty tight, but liquid just leaks out of the tiny vent hole in the top of the clear part. When I look at my other waterproof travel mugs, the vent hole is built into the closure area so that it's vented when open, and plugged when closed and I feel secure in putting those in a bag or at least in the side compartment of a backpack. I was hopeful when I ordered it because I saw that the rubbery main opening looked like it would close that part very well (and the rubber around the perimeter of the lid also fits nice and tight) but quite a bit of liquid can leak out of that tiny hole. I've been using a small plastic "post-it note" type tab on the tiny hole which I move over when I'm drinking through the open lid. I'm just waiting to find a proper lid. The new Tervis clear and black slider lid still has that tiny hole that is always exposed, btw, which is heart-breaking. I wanted a tumbler with a simple lid instead of a screw top bottle because I don't like to drink with accumulated smells on a plastic lid, nor with my mouth directly on the threads of a bottle, so most of the time, I drink without the lid and it has no threads, so those are good points. I like that it's wide - easy to clean. Lightweight is great (compared to Yeti's, etc.) because I travel with it. Metal bubble tea straw does not fit through opening, but thin ones do. However, if you look at the Yeti tumbler magsafe lid, you will see that the vent hole gets plugged when closed. I love the cute cat breeds pattern and use the tumbler even when I'm home for thermal property compared to a ceramic mug and large capacity. Another thing that would make it perfect would be if it was dishwasher safe, but the lid can go in the top rack, and when I'm travelling, I'm going to be handwashing anyway. It was great on a cruise because you can load up at the drink machines easily, and have lots of room for ice and the drink, and easily keep it clean it afterwards. But if it sealed better, it would be easier to walk around without liquid coming out the vent hole.
