Not instant
I bought it to measure the temperature of snow, You can read it in an instant, but it takes time, many seconds, if not a minute, for the needle to finally stop moving. Other than that it seems to be of reasonable quality. The adjustment wrench built into the cover is a little small but being plastic, you can force it onto the nut.

Seems good!
It seems to be accurate but I have nothing to compare it to, to know how accurate it is, except what my refrigerator is set to vs. what it tells me. That is why I said it seems to be accurate which is good enough for me. Unless you have perfect eyesight it is not easy to read. It is easy to use if you know how to use it. If you are using it for a refrigerator then place it in a glass of water and keep it in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours and then read it. For freezer readings put the thermometer in between two packages of food that have been in the freezer for more than 24 hours on the middle shelf and leave it there for a minimum of three full minutes before reading it. Some say that putting a clean thermometer in ice cream that has been in the freezer for 12 hours or more is the best way to check the freezers true temperature. Again, wait at least three full minutes before reading it.

Small dial
Seems to work good it just is really hard to see the tiny lines. Needs a bigger face.

Great thermometer and a great price for me .
I used the part to check the temperature of a fridge that I was working on. Adjustable and accurate .

Very basic
Slow response even for a old school thermometer. Temperature limit should be higher for HVAC use.

A Nice Basic Thermometer
This thermometer can be calibrated in an ice bath (in a styrofoam cup) and it will be as accurate as a digital device, without batteries. I have the matching meat thermometer in the kitchen and it never fails me. This one will ride on my motorcycle to read air temperature when it isn't in HVAC service. I'd have preferred a slimmer pocket-clip case without the right-angle holder, but others might not. [Incentives never accepted]

For the price and quality
Right price, right quality, known brand. Using this to indicate A/C vent output temperature and monitoring. Could be a bit more focused on a tighter temperature range (0-75°F), but fine for the purposes. Truck gets into the 120°F+ zone in northern Alabama sun...
