Almost perfect

We travel by motorhome and while traveling decided we needed new travel mugs. We wanted a handle and to fit in our cup holders. This one fit the bill and the majority of the reviews were positive. Very attractive. We got the gray ones as our motorhome is in gray tones. . A few things contributed to 4 stars instead of 5. Would have preferred a better lid. Although we haven’t traveled with them because they were shipped to a location we’ve been at for awhile, we have used them without driving. Used with and without lid. Lid works, but surprised it didn’t keep coffee hotter longer than without. Lids definitely won’t prevent spills. Although the exterior of the mug is very hot (definitely need that handle) to begin with, the coffee doesn’t stay hot or warm for too long. And yes, there were comments about drinking it faster. We weren’t looking for one that keeps liquid hot for hours. This cup cools off within 30 minutes.

Holds a big coffee and helps you to reduce plastic pollution.

Every day on my way to work I stop at Starbucks for my caffeine fix. I often have early starts and so there is no way I'm getting up early enough to make my own coffee. The thing about going to Starbucks every day is that every day I'm throwing out a polymer wax lined cup and a plastic lid that will likely end up in a landfill and eventually pollute our environment. I am really trying to find ways to reduce my use of plastics, but somehow still live a normal life. I tried using a metal flask, and a plastic vacuum travel mug, but those containers always seemed to taint the flavor of my coffee and not in a good way. Then I discovered this Ello travel mug- It's ceramic and so it doesn't change the taste, in fact I would say that my Starbucks coffee tastes slightly better in this than it does in the disposable cup I used to get every day. I also wanted a cup big enough that it would be at least 'Grande' size, my usual order was a Venti Dark roast, but I'd sacrifice a few ounces in order to cut down on my plastic use. This cup is about the same size as 'Grande' so it fits the bill. It was actually quite hard to find a ceramic mug, that would fit in my car cup holder, that also holds a big enough coffee so I was very happy to find this. The only change to my daily routine is that I have to wash this travel mug out every day and put it with my car keys the night before so that I don't forget it when I leave the house in the morning. It fits perfectly in the cup holder of my car and the handle is easy to grab so I don't have to take my eyes off the road to sip my coffee while driving to work, being that it is a wooden handle it also cool to touch even with a hot drink inside and the fact it's not a closed off handle means I can set it down quickly and easily too so it doesn't distract my driving in any way at all. On several occasions I have received compliments on this cool looking mug, customers in line asked where I got it and I've had the baristas say this is one of the coolest personal mugs they have seen. I was so impressed that I bought another one- the white one for my wife and she loves hers too. A couple of things to note, the is the kind of mug to use if you are like me and drink your coffee on the road to work, it won't keep your drink hot for that long, only about the same amount of time that a regular china mug does. If you want something that will keep your drink warm for a couple of hours then this is not the travel mug you are looking for. When washing it I try to not dunk the wooden handle in the sink ( It cannot be washed in a dishwasher due to the handle) and if the handle gets wet I dry it off right away. I love this mug, but even if this is not quite your style I beg you all, if you are regularly get take away coffee at a coffee shop, please get yourself a travel mug and do something to reduce the amount of plastic that goes to waste. I recommend ceramic because it doesn't change the flavor of the drink in any way. Also please do one more thing- when going to a restaurant or a cafe, tell your server that you don't need a plastic straw and you'll just sip your drink from the glass like you would at home. We all need to do our part, This Ello mug really helps me to do mine.

It's a beautiful cup

I searched long and hard for the perfect cup to keep my coffee hot because I fail to drink it right away and can't stand Luke warm coffee...this cup was the perfect solution for me. I love the feel of it warm in my hands, the look is simple and gorgeous...love the gold and wood handle. Unfortunately I found a chipp on the inside...right at the place where the lid will set. Upon further inspection it was completely cracked. Not sure if it happened when they clamped the handle on...or in shipping ( box wasn't damaged...but it didn't sit secure in the outer delivery box. ) I will say that it was replaced immediately and the new cup will arrive tomorrow....we shall see if it arrives without any issues. The company does stand by their products so that's a huge plus. Cup arrived and is perfect!! I may just have to order a few more of these. ????????

do not put in dishwasher - it will ruin

My husband likes this, but you def cannot place in dishwasher (over time an inner lining leaks out) - must be hand washed. Overall great quality.

Lid has a strong plastic smell

Just got the mug today. The lid has a strong plastic smell that spoiled my first cup of coffee. Not sure how long it will take to get rid of the smell.

Beautiful cup

Absolutely one of the most beautiful cups I have purchased. I love the copper around the top and the wooden handle. The cup is very heavy and with my hand issues a bit hard to lift. Still usable, but sometimes use 2 hands. The cup itself gets very hot when it has hot coffee in it. It also doesn't keep hot drinks hot for long. To be honest my actual mugs are just as good. The mug does not leak and it is a bit of an inconvenience that this is not microwavable. This is turning into a more negative review which was not my intention. I love the look, love the feel of the wooden handle. The cup itself has a richness about it that feels more like a pleasurable experience, an indulgence. It takes a Sunday morning coffee drink into a treat.

Beautiful, perfect size & very good looking, not leak proof!

I really like how this mug looks, very sleek and modern looking. Perfect size ! However if you are looking for a leak proof mug, this is not it. The slider lid does not fit in properly. Every time it slants and does not sit properly to get a good fit. Since I do like the look and size of it, had decided to use it as a home office mug. Again all depends on what you need the mug for.

It’s a very executive mug, very very good looking

I love the look of it. The handle is a great feature as it doesn’t get hot and is very easy to grab on to. Keeps beverages hot and i haven’t tried a cold beverage yet. I love that it’s all ceramic I don’t like aluminum I seem to be able to taste it yucky. I just love the design

Love this mug!

I wanted a good travel mug that didn’t take the taste of tea away like plastic or metal does. This mug is perfect, fits into cup holders, looks stylish and more importantly the tea taste great! This is my second one of these. Accidental dropped the last one twice!! Bit pricey but worth it for that morning commute! Had lots of comments about it too.

Good quality and elegant ????????

4 stars only because it doesn’t keep the beverages long enough. Average for me was like 1.5hr max. Possibly because it’s not double insulated. And my office is at 22C all the time. The ceramic and built quality is top notch. Elegant and worth the money. Dishwasher safe and the rubber stopper on top fits perfectly ???? Overall I would recommend this to anyone needing a table top mug to keep beverages warm for about an hour .
