It is what it is, and that's just fine. Works great on induction.

Honestly, this pan is just what is advertised - a heavy induction/conduction plate fused to a (fairly thin) stamped stainless steel pan, with a T-fal anti-stick coating. We have an induction range, and have an All-clad d3 stainless set of cookware that handles most of our browning, sautéing, braising, etc. needs, but when I need that truly nonstick pan for low-fat eggs, drippy grilled cheeses, or just want a quick cleanup after the cook this is my go-to now. This is a heavy pan, heavier than the 12" All-clad d3 pan, so you're probably not going to be doing fancy flipping with it. Nonstick pans have a short lifespan, but T-fal has been in the nonstick business for a long time and have figured out how to extended the life of a pretty fragile coating. tldr; A good value. A heavy induction/conduction plate fused to a stamped stainless steel pan, from an iconic nonstick brand. A reliable everyday pan.

Excellent for induction.

The 12" T-fal Platinum Stainless pan is an excellent pan for induction cooking. I've had several pans and this one performs better than any I've had before. Excellent value for money.

Heat indicator

advertisement showed that this pan had a heat indicator in the center but there is not. Dont even know if this is a true product by now.

Pan is concave

We are returning this pan. It is concave and doesn't heat or brown correctly.

Absolutely Un-Fal-able!!

I am a fry-pan freak and this pan has made me a happy camper! Yeah, maybe it's not for the faint-of wrist (it weighs about the same as my 10 inch cast iron skillet, but it's performance is worth the heft if you can handle it. Lower lines of T-Fal are notorious for "humping" in the middle (been there done that) but this one will let you crack an egg in the middle & it stays there! As another review mentioned, I purchased a T-Fal skillet a long time ago that was superior and lasted for years., but then, it all seemed to be cheaper stuff which made me hesitate on this one. Glad I took the chance, after a week of use I bought another and put it the cupboard for when the day comes when my current one will eventually fail. Note: I have a glass top stove & the "heavy duty" bottom is a perfect match.
