Definitely a support and reminder
I haven't worn this much yet but it seems to work as specified. It very gently puts pressure on your shoulders reminding you to pull them back. It doesn't keep them back however, just kind of reminds you that you are slouching. I think this would be better to try in winter as you can wear a singlet under it and then something over the top to hide it. In summer it'll just be for "about the house" wear as it's not comfortable enough to wear against bare skin and I wouldn't want to have to explain it to anyone by wearing it down the street :-P The whole thing is comfortable enough once you figure out how to put it on (not rocket science but I must admit I was a bit stumped when I first put it on). The material is soft and not scratchy, but don't catch the Velcro on anything asides from the other Velcro clasp cause it is very grippy! If you're looking for a cheap(er) support which will help remind you to stand straight this would be great, but if you are after something which will actually pull your shoulders back or keep your spine straight I wouldn't recommend it.

Elastic Posture Support
I choose this rating because it doesn't fit tight at the top of my spine, and pokes out. However this is probably due to my having a rounded spine. It is helping me to be more aware that I'm not sitting/standing up straight. I think it is going to be very helpful for my Gastroesophageal Reflux which relaxes every time food/drink is taken. I have a weak muscle in the oesophagus which is also uncoordinated, posture seems to be most important for this condition. Not easy when one has a bent spine. My posture is bad, I suppose my brain tells my body to walk/sit/stand, (in fact everything I do), even cleaning my teeth and using the toilet in this bad position ; I don't realise I'm doing it; it's more comfortable. Sincerely Jean

Good reminder to sit up straight, no real support.
I am still under debate on this product. I used it for a couple of hours yesterday. I am 5'3", 115 lbs and I purchased the Small. It fit okay. When I was wearing it I noticed that it did rub under my arms and in my armpits. It doesn't really provide any support. When you wear it you know it is there and so to avoid the rubbing or discomfort you sit up straight. It works as a reminder to sit up straight very well. I was hoping for something with more support though. It may be user error as this product is new to me so I will continue wearing it and if anything changes I will update my review.

This is it.
It's material is similar to an Ace bandage. I like it. The product keeps my shoulders back. When my shoulders droop, this product gets uncomfortable i.e. it binds in the armpits and pinches. So if you keep good posture, the product is comfortable. If you want a product that holds your shoulders back by force, get some metal and hire a welder. This seems like a genius design. A thought out, high quality item. Amazon is easy and cheap, Walgreens wants $52 for this, Amazon was almost a third of that price. I'm male, 6'3''. 250 lbs, 40'' waist. The XL fit's perfectly. I am excited about this product. When my posture is correct the pain disappears. This product gently supports my massive shoulders without robbing me of using my own muscles to keep my shoulders back. If you find a shoulder support that does all the work for you, run the other way. You need to develop and maintain your own support.

The Best of the Lot
I have yet to find one of these posture supports that is great. This one is the best of the lot. The elastic is wide and flexible and is less likely to dig into the skin. It is quite adjustable and doesn't cut into the armpits as so many do. There is a band that goes around the upper waist and closes with Velcro in the front. The bands that go over your shoulders, cross in the back also Velcro in the front. The double layer of Velcro in front is a bit bulky. These braces are really a reminder to correct your posture; they don't do it for you.

Best one I've tried!
I 've tried about 5 posture braces, and this is my favorite. The straps are like ACE bandages and are comfy and soft. It doesn't yank your shoulders back - instead it just reminds you to stand up straight. I thought this sounded bogus, but surprisingly it really does work! The straps hit in just the right place on the front of your shoulders. It scoots around so you have to adjust every once in a while. Also, order a size down!!! Mine is just barely tight enough.

Good reminder to sit up straight
As the first reviewer said, this doesn't correct your posture it just reminds you to sit up straight. If you start to slouch the bands start to dig into your waist and armpits hence the discomfort will force you to keep the correct posture. It's ideal when you're sitting at a desk but I find it a little uncomfortable when I have to do light activity/movement. I would recommend this product.

So helpful
This is a lifesaver. I'm 31 and suffer from early onset osteoporosis and also have RA, so my once good posture is being stolen. This support helps a lot. I don't wear it every day, only on the days when I'm feeling extra "slouchy". It does roll a bit, but it's not unbearable. The pros outweigh the cons on this for me. I just excuse myself the rest room if it's getting too uncomfortable and adjust it (usually in the armpits). It's not a rigid support, so it doesn't keep me sitting up perfectly straight, but gives me enough support to do so "on my own".
