Bellisimo pero con un pequeño desperfecto
El juego es increible, la calidad de los elementos es inigualable y las figuras son de un tamaño increible. No obstante la caja vino con un desperfecto en todo el frente que arruina una textura sobria y de calidad.

Complex game with lots of setup, nowhere to put the pieces, and the box could be of better quality
Box came partially damaged, which sucks for a $100+ game. A lot of setup is required. The pieces are in a plastic mold, and some of them are relatively large. I'm guessing you should paint them because they're all either entirely gray or brown, which I think is common in the miniatures realm but it would have been nice to have them pre-painted considering this whole thing was $100+. If you're good with making your own kind of container solution or 3D printing, I'm guessing you could improve on the storage situation. But with how much setup it requires, sorting through cards, etc. makes me think I won't be playing this often unless it's a large game night kind of thing.

If you like the video games then you will love the board game
If you love the Dark Souls series then you will love this game. Some how the makers of the board game really caught the feel of the video game. It is a very difficult game just like it's video game counterpart. For 1 to 4 players I can say that the difficulty ramps up substantially for each player that plays over the first. You pick your class out of the 4 that are available with the base game and you get a really cool board to use to keep track of your equipment and health. The board is modular so you place down new tiles for each room you venture into which then opens up a random selection of which enemies are in the room and where they are located. So basically you go in blind and have to learn your enemies attacks and movements just like the video game. You will die and when you do you start all over back at the campfire with all the enemies reset. The good news is that now you now where the enemies will be and how they will attack. And of course you gain a certain amount of souls (resources) after you clear a room that you can use to spend on new weapons or armor or spells. These come from a VAST selection of treasure cards that you also have to spend souls on to draw. Another aspect of this is that you also have to spend souls to upgrade your character's abilities to be able to use most of this new gear. The bosses you fight are very unique as they work totally different than fighting normal enemies. They each have their own batch of cards that you draw from that shows what their attack or movement would be. This is a revolving deck so over the course of the battle you can essentially learn the bosses movements and attacks and prepare for them. Once you get the boss down to a certain amount of health he will "enrage" which basically means that you have to add another even stronger attack card to the batch of cards you draw from for his attacks. Also you shuffle them all so you have to relearn his rotation. I can say though learning how to properly fight the bosses is rather confusing and can take many trial and error battles before you get it down. So beyond the fighting, what makes this game difficult? Well the reason it gets harder the more people play is because if even 1 person in your party dies, you all die. Everyone in the party goes back to the bonfire. Now that doesn't seem too terribly bad.....however there is another aspect to this that really ramps up the difficulty. Every time you die and have to return to the bonfire, the bonfire lose's a "spark". You only get 2 sparks for a 4 player game. Once you lose all the sparks for that bonfire, the game is over. You need to be realllllly careful on how you proceed in the game and be sure not to just blaze through it or you will lose very quickly. During a typical game you will go through 3 or 4 tiles (rooms) clearing out enemies collecting souls and then fight a mini boss. The mini boss is basically just a regular boss but it represents the halfway mark through the full game. After you beat that mini boss you will unlock legendary gear to be added to the treasure cards. After that you venture through 3 or 4 more tiles fighting enemies and then finally battle a final boss. At the start of the game you choose which of the 2 bosses you fight out of 5. So the game does offer some replayability in that respect. The box packaging is so-so. They have really nice plastic holders for the minis, however the bosses holders leave no indication of where or how they fit in......so beware not to just eagerly remove the boss minis right as you open the game as you will end up spending a good amount of time trying to figure out how to put them back in. Everything else fits in the box nicely though including the regular enemy minis. Speaking of the minis, they are extremely details and look JUST like their video game counterparts. The length of the game usually runs to right around 2 and a half hours. Your first game will always take much longer just because you are still learning all the mechanics.

Beautifully Crafted Game that Is Punishing But Fun; Not a Great Choice For Casual Gamers
Just like the video games this is based on this board game is brutal. Playable with one to four people, the game sees the players going up against AI controlled enemies as you grind for souls to spend on better loot before you go up against the intensely tough bosses and mini bosses. The game has a generic playthrough mode where you progress from the mini boss to the boss or you can try the two campaigns included in the rule book that mimic the plots of Dark Souls 1 and 3. The game boards are nicely detailed, but the stand out is the absolutely gorgeous character and enemy models. They are wonderfully crafted and a joy to behold (fans who like to pain their models will have a blast with this game). Enemies and Bosses are controlled by character cards that tell the players exactly how the enemies behave, how they move, and who they attack. Players can either roll dice to block enemy attacks or try their luck on an all or nothing dodge roll. Each room you enter prior to the boss fights is set up by a deck of encounter cards that tells you which enemies you'll battle and how the room is set up. Unlike most tactical games of this kind, the board isn't set up on a grid but instead uses "nodes" that all can hold up to three character models at a time. The things I love about this game, aside from the aforementioned gorgeous models, are the level of detail the creators have included with the rules and enemy behavior design. Almost every aspect is covered and it makes gameplay quick and easy to follow. Likewise, the AI enemies allow players to attempt the game alone if they choose. The bosses alone make this game one hell of a good time as they, unlike normal enemies, have an entire deck of cards that can dictate their move sets. The boss decks not only can vary from game to game, but once the bosses take a certain amount of damage their behavior deck gains new moves to intensify the fight. Like in the games, players have to coordinate together and attempt to learn the boss' patterns in order to defeat them. The downsides so far is that the node system of movement on the boards can be a bit sloppy especially when you use the larger boss models. Sometimes it is just too easy to lose track of which models were on which nodes. Also, the core game set only has a handful of base enemies so you will see a bit of repetition early on (thankfully Steamforged has a huge list of expansions planned for the upcoming year). Finally, the game's bonfire system is a bit too brutal for casual play. As in the video games, any time a member of your party dies or when you choose to rest at the bonfire you are able to reset your consumable items and also reset the room encounters in order to grind for more souls. However, the game's bonfire has a counter that can wind down to zero, at which point the players lose. I understand the idea of including a "game over" mechanic so that games don't drag on forever, but when you consider how much you need to grind for better loot to even have a chance against bosses or high level enemies it seems as though the bonfire counter is just too low. Remember that in the video games, death is a learning tool. Yes you die a lot in Dark Souls, but in so doing you learn what to expect from enemies and how to predict their moves. Death in the board game feels a bit more like an out and out punishment than a learning tool. For hardcore fans of the series this will probably not be much of a downside, but for casual play it can make the game intense. That intensity and difficulty makes winning that much more enjoyable, but you may decide to tweak the game with house rules just so you don't have a coronary.

Son happy about game, but box broken
Son was very happy about getting the game as a gift and it did come all sealed, but the box was pretty damaged on one end and keeps ripping apart more. For the price, I am kind of disappointed about that. Don't know if it was shipped that way or of it was damaged in route. It was packaged well with bubble wrap.

Contents of board game are great
Came in perfect condition, game itself is very difficult as one would expect and the figures inside are very detailed but unpainted. This is fair because if they were this board game would be super expensive.

Great game, but, the company not so much.
So yes as everyone said the game itself is great, but, I wont be purchasing anything else from steamforged. There is a reason for this. Every single retailer here hasn't had the DSBG sets for months. There are a few boss expansions available online but.. it is damn near impossible to find the character expansion anywhere, along with a few other things (tile sets, extra dice, ect). So I went to the support page for steamforged and sent their support an email wondering when there would be more character expansions made as even their own site said they didnt have them. Well, they did but in only one language, German. It's been weeks and I still have not gotten a reply. They are in the process of finishing their new kickstarted rpg/rougelite/dungeon crawl game "bardsung". This has pretty blatantly shown me that once they start a new kickstarter, they really dknt care about their previous games. For instance, they have multiple other games that you just cant get. So I looked in their kickstarter and they include (will go retail) just like darksouls.... so I phoned a reputable card and board game company here and asked them about the DSBG expansions. What they told me was honestly quite a p**s off... they have also been trying to contact steamforged to order more core games and expansions and they havnt even got as much as a courtesy email back.. So yeah, the game itself is very fun, especially with a party. The dark wood expansion, one of the few I was able to get my hands on, should be your first expansion as it adds much more to the game (enemies, gear, bosses, ect). Its fantastic and it really makes you feel like you are playing in the darksouls universe and the minis... my god are the minis beautifully detailed. This is why it gets 4* from me. The company Steamforged on the other hand doesnt even get a 1... So, if you are looking for a great core game to play with friends and family who enjoy a dread filled fantasy and dont care too much about expansions then this is for you! Also, you should check out a board game called Decent, it's also brilliant.

Top Quality, Value and gameplay
Bought Darksouls Way Back in 2016 as i didn't really have a group of friends that we're all that interested in board games, learnt how to play it within a few play throughs. went out made a group of freinds to play with. the game play is great but rather frustrating when you're always dying but thats kind of the point when it comes to the dark souls series board game or not, so it's right up any dark souls fans alley. the Minitures are of amazing quality and i'd really love to get round to painting them as i've seen how amazing they look with the right colour scheme, but the detail is out of this world especially on the larger titanite demon figure. overall i give it 5/5, if you're willing to put in the time for the set up and learning the Rules for the game you'll have many years of fun with the crazy replayability factor this game offers

Fantastic. Recommend 100x
Well made miniatures and a wonderful take on the video game that feels like the video game mechanics in a boardgame. Clearly made by people who love and understand the souls series.

Amazing fun but long set up
Once you eventually learn how the game works, it's grand. The models are nice to look at, board is wonderfully built, and the variation to gameplay is almost endless. Only issue I have with it is the set up time and learning process. Each set up will take around 15/20 minutes even if you've already preshuffled the decks, and game time lasts between 2/4 hours, least it did with my mate / partner. Overall though if you have that time spare, fantastic game!

Great board game translation
What a fantastic boads game. The miniatures are detailed, game tiles are huge and the rules are actually decently written. If you're not used to tabletop games, there are YT videos that can better summarize how to play. A lot of negative reviews seem to complain that this board game is "grindy", but its obvious they haven't played the video game. There are some great house rules you can implement too. I don't use the "if one dies you all respawn" rule as well as separating the upgrade deck into they're corresponding types. The game is great, it's hard, it's grindy, but it's fun. Just like the video game.
