Does what it’s supposed to but should be cheaper

This is my second one. They last awhile but I’ve had the screws holding it together strip out for what ever reason. The most annoying part about it is that near the foot marks all the lines are the same height. So 1/4 is the same as the 1/16 which makes a mistake easier to happen. I also wish the tabs on the top side of the tape were bigger for when you have to hook on the top side. I’ve also had to rewind the spring after a year or two of use because it won’t pull itself back. Overall it’s my go to tape because I haven’t found one that fits my needs better

Well Worth The Price

Anything Stanley in typically well worth the money.

Long and sturdy. No CM.

Overall this tape measure is good. My only complaints are that there are: One, there are no centimeter readings (inches repeat twice on one side and blank on the back). Two, the lock and roll up mechanism feel a bit clunky and aren’t as smooth as smaller tape measures that I have. I feel like quality has been compromised at the expense of length and cost. It’s still a good, solid tape measure. But next time I might pay a bit more just to have a little better quality and a cm option.

Fatman is the best.

Durable, easy read, and you can extend it as far as you need in a straight line without a second set of hands. Heavy but worth it.

A good tool!

When you find a good tool you stick with it. I've used Stanley tapes for over thirty years in the construction industry. They're accurate, easy to read and their quality is consistently excellent. You come to depend on the quality by knowing what that tape measure can do and what it can't. Whether measuring distances <12' away from a suspended catwalk, or just hooking the claw of a hammer you dropped off of a roof, Stanley tape measures have never let me down; unlike the occasionally borrowed competitor tapes.

Well, it says fatmax on it, 35” is perfect for the job im doing right now, problem is, doesn’t feel like an authentic fatmax, it also isn’t blade armor as many others have said
