Great for Preventing Blisters When Hiking!
I prefer this to thicker alternatives for hiking and backpacking. It's thin, lightweight, and remains in place if you're careful in the application. If you know you have areas that get blisters, this product will help protect those areas until the skin gets tougher; I generally use this early in the hiking season until my feel get tough enough to do long hikes without it. For hikes where you're feet are in boots all day I usually apply Tincture of Benzoine first and let it get tacky. Trim the knit to a size that covers the general area of your hot spot and cut it so that the patch you use is oval, without corners. If you notice the edges starting to become "unstuck" then just trim off that portion with your small scissors. It can be left in place for several days if you apply it correctly. Don't pull it off the affected area just to apply a fresh patch every day... you may damage or tear the skin. Another hint for hot spots while hiking is to take your shoes/boots off when you stop for lunch or anytime you're sitting for more that 20 minutes... it gives your feet and socks a chance to dry out. Reducing moisture will pay big dividends at the end of the day. I've been using this product about 25 years. If you're unsuccessful in preventing a bad blister, then discontinue using the Spenco Adhesive and start using the clear, breathable dressings like Johnson & Johnson Bioclusive. Use the Tincture of Benzoine again around the edges. In addition to better adhesion, the Benzoine dries the skin (it contains alcohol).

Really sticky!
It gets stickier the longer it’s on. It doesn’t fall off. The comfort is okay. Just by itself i didn’t get relief from my raw skin underneath but I put gauze padding under it and it worked for what I needed it for.

Perfect for breaking in shoes
I bought Spenco 2nd skin to protect my ankle bones from blisters while I broken-in a new pair of boots. Worked great - no blisters! My only complaint is that the sticky adhesive is SO strong that it took a few showers to get all the sticky residue off my skin. If you do encounter the sticky residue, I found that a bit of baby oil helped take the residue off.

Spenco 2nd Skin Adhesive Knit
These 2nd Skin adhesive knit strips worked out perfectly for what I wanted them for. I cut them to size to put in the back of my shoes so they didn't slip up and down. The usual slip grips you purchase for doing this have a padded bumper in them which make your shoes too tight. This Adhesive strip which is thinner than moleskin was just perfect and didn't cause my feet to be cramped in the shoe. I'm so pleased to have more on hand for future use.

Multi-Use Product
I love this product but find it hard to find in retail establishments. It has multiple uses. I use it primarily to protect hotspots on my feet -- heels and toes -- from walking. It is really useful with 2nd Skin burn pads which I use for blisters. In effect you make your own bandaids but the moist pads are much more protective than regular bandaids. I bought it this time for cosmetic purposes to cover bruising because of its flesh color and long-lasting adhesive.

2nd Skin Bandages
Please don't get confused from the product that is liquid skin for cuts or open skin.. This is a bandage meant for the bottom of your feet. But it is also fantastic for a small heat patch and if you have problem wrist that may need operating on. It is not a cure but it does re leave pain.. May take some time to receive in the mail but its very hard to find in the store. Highly suggest trying.

I cut these to size and they stay put and last all day. I discovered this brand after a half marathon and continue to use these to cover blisters, injuries, etc because it stays put and is flesh toned.

Fantastic for all foot friction problems
This item is no longer made in the UK which is very sad, I spoke to the UK manufacturer. I have used it for years especially for soft corns between the toes. It solves the problem completely. The adhesive knit is fine so it doesn't add width to the foot and it stays in place for days regardless of bathing. The last time I bought this item it cost £6.00. I recently saw it on eBay for £20.00 because it was being sent from the USA. There does not appear to be a similar alternative - I have asked in a few pharmacies. Maybe a chiropodist will know of an alternative?

Stops chafing when walking
Love this product for incipient blisters, chafing of shoes and blisters (use a little piece of tissue to cover wounds). So good because it stays in place for several days even with showering ! Also fantastic for splits at back of heels due to hard skin. Take it everywhere I go worldwide.
