A Fine Magnifying Mirror For My Needs

Maybe I'm not the best on-line searcher...but I have looked for this type of mirror from time to time with no success until I found this item from Danielle. I just love these things when I find them in hotel rooms...and the older I get...and the dimmer my eyes get...the more I wanted one of these for my bathroom in our home. In my installation, this item does not fog up from shower and sink moisture. It has a 1X magnification on one side and a 10X magnification on a concave mirror on the reverse. The concave mirror depends on a fixed 'focal length' and if you stand too far back, the image inverts (leaving me standing on my head or my face upside down.) Just get close and you will do fine. Note that it does not come with a light source; light has to come from whatever you have over the sink or elsewhere in your bathroom. This unit can be mounted in drywall with the included screw/nylon insert set or it can be secured to a stud if one just happens to be in the right place. It has swing arms, swivel mounts for the mirror and an up-and-down height adjustment bar with about 5 inches of travel to serve the needs of persons of different heights. Fasteners can be tightened as desired or needed to stabilize positions, angles and so on. I now can tweeze ingrown hairs from shaving, shave more closely without pressing down too hard and getting unnecessary nicks and so on. It should work great for women applying makeup: I use it to more evenly distribute after shave skin moisturizer...and avoid having to use more solely because I can't see where it is spreading.

Love the mirror. Is actually the second one I have ordered. HATE the labels on the mirror itself. Gummy and difficult to remove.

Mirror Does Not Allow Viewing of Side of Face When Shaving

Purchased mirror to assist my aging eyes with my daily mens shave. Having used a similiar wall-mount mirror I decided to purchase this model. I decided to purchase the 10x model, which I later regretted. I believe the magnification of the mirrow I used before to be 5 - 6 x which was perfect for my needs. Unfortunately, the curvature of the glass to achieve the 10x maginification results in a mirror with a very small viewing area. Since I use the mirror primarily for shaving I soon discovered I could only see my face when dead center in front of it. When I turned my face slightly to the side distortion from the curvature prevented me from seeing my face. Therefore, men, if you intend to use it for shaving your entire face, this is not the model for you. Get a lower magification. Pro's: Easy installation Nice chrome Finish Sturdy design Good included fasteners Packaged sturdily Cons manufacturer applies stickers directly to the galss surface of the mirror which will not peel off, I had to use a razor and scrap them off 10x magnifcation will not allow you to see sides of your face - big negative. Unfortunately, by the time I realized the 10x magnification was an isse I had already mounted it and thrown away the box. Otherwise, it would have gone back. Finally, installation to my sheetrock bathroom wall was very easy and quick, maybe 10 minutes max with cleanup.

Stylish magnifying lamp with sticker residue

So I was so excited to get this, as I wanted a magnifying lamp that would be larger than 6 inches, a major disappointment when I saw they added 2-3 stickers that require a workout to take off. Now my clear mirror has finger prints and sticky residue on it. Why would they put a sticker on the magnifying side? Or put it directly on the glass at all. I have spent over 40 mins trying to pick away at it. What a waste of time, and I still haven't gotten the whole stickers off yet. The light could be a bit brighter as well. It is very stylish though. Looks good on my makeup table. If you don't look at the residue. For the money I should not have to do this.

Good value make-up mirror.

Good value. Overall my wife is pleased with this makeup mirror. The 10x provides her very close vision when putting on her makeup. The regular side works like any other mirror. Once she set the vertical adjustment set she doesn't move it up or down. Though it is easy to do with a set screw on the end(closest to the mount). Finish looks good though we'll see how it holds up in a steamy bathroom. This item comes with plastic anchors to put into sheetrock, if needed. I anchored mine into the wooden medicine cabinet frame. The associated metal screws I found to be poor quality, as the heads stripped when I used a power drill. I did predrill the holes but the heads still rounded out. I purchased higher quality stainless steel, round top screws that did the job without stripping. The extending arms have not bent and appears to be well constructed and maneuverable. As a guy, I use it to see extra-close to tough areas, ie under my nose, when shaving or trimming. Good value.

Decent Magnifying Mirror-but you need to get really close

I do like that it is super magnification. (Actually can see my pores and everything.) What I'm not happy about is the fact that I have to get so close to the mirror to use the magnification. I did not have to get my face so close with my old mounted mirror. It does work well, but again, you have to be really close or it's all just blurry.
