Needed to measure salt brine this dose that
Make pre treat liquid road salt brine and needed another measurement tool. This dose just that. Numbers are small but it works just fine.

Very poor design, SOOOO FRAGILE, and incredibly expensive
Due to how these are made, you have to order all three "sizes" and they are somehow $47-$54-$71 even though appear exactly the same. BUT, they have this huge, heavy, bulbous bottom and a super tiny thin glass neck that will snap instantly with the smallest pressure. Two out of the three arrived broken. I was putting this one back in the foam package when it broke. Ludicrous. WHY SO THIN?? The extra viewing space is just what you need but not worth it if they break every other use.

Great for meat and poultry brines
The hydrometer arrived securely packaged. I have used it to measure the salt content in meat and poultry brines and it has worked great so far. I'm using it with the213I13 Karter Scientific 250ml Glass Graduated Cylinder, Single Metric Scale which is a little smaller that recommended but still works fine. By the way if you want to read up on brining meats, I highly recommend Ruhlman's great bookCharcuterie: The Craft of Salting, Smoking, and Curing (Revised and Updated) .

Worked good...!
Used to accurately measure the brine concentration level coming from my water softener. I was pleased with this purchase. Be sure to purchase a sample jar with the hydrometer.
