Not what I thought it would be.........
I replaced my Black & Decker Air Station that finally died. I have 2 big compressors but also like the convenience of a portable unit. I figured Campbell Hausfield would be a good replacement as the B & D is no longer available. Both Brands are old Names, Been around for ever. Hose stem/valve connector is plastic. Air hose is short covered in fabric. Gauge is in increments of 5 pounds instead of 1 pound. I am surprised to see a Brand Name like Campbell Hausfield produce what appears to be a "cheap" product. Wish I could have found another B & D Air Station. Got a very good price on the purchase. Hope it holds up...Can't believe the valve/stem connector is plastic......

Great Price, nice features
I used a similar compressor from Sears for several years. It died (more on that in a bit) and I replaced it with this one at a much better price. I paid about $65.00 for the sears one. At this price, you might think the unit is a toy, but I regularly use it to top of the air in the 22.5" tires of my RV. I run them at up to 100 PSI. I suspect that the guts of all these little tankless jobs are the same, so there's no sense paying more unless you're going to spend over $200, and even then I think you might be getting the same components inside. I opened up the expensive Sears 15-gallon tank compressor I use to run my impact wrenches and the components looked just like the ones in these units. I much prefer these compact tankless units to the loud, heavy, bulky, and awkward pancake-style compressors, which make a horrible amount of noise and literally vibrate themselves to pieces unless you tighten up all the nuts and screws on them after every use. This unit is much more convenient and the price is right. I wouldn't recommend a 12-volt unit unless you absolutely have to have it operate where there is no AC power. Even then, you my be better off with the vehicle running, an inverter in the accessory plug, and an extension cord. Pros: Hands-free, clip-on valve connection Light Compact Long cord Produces 150 psi AC powered (much faster inflates than a 12V model) Good collection of accessories Relatively accurate gauge Cons: Short fill hose Inadequate overheating protection Dies if you overheat it Losable accessory cover I think that people who are complaining about the unit dying are overheating it. If you use it to to air up a completely flat auto tire (especially on a hot day), the unit will overheat and die. That's how my last similar unit died. I tried to bring an RV tire from 20 PSI to 90+ PSI in one continuous session on an 85-degree day. If you do large jobs with it in small stages and let it cool down completely between each session, it will last a long time. If it does die, there's a good chance that you can get replacement parts for it on the web, though it will often be cheaper (and a lot easier) just to buy a new one. Other reviewers have complained about the air loss when disconnecting from the valve. This is inevitable with any hands-free air hose connector, but I've found that you can minimize it with this unit by not pushing the hose connector on as far. If you push it on just enough to engage the valve it will pop right off when you're done. You will only lose a small amount or air, and more important, the amount you lose will be consistent because you won't be spending a variable amount of time getting the connector off. Be prepared to turn off the motor right away if the pressure shoots up rapidly to over 100 pounds. That means the connector is not on far enough to depress the valve stem and you're only inflating the air in the hose. Tip - here's what I suggest to get accurate pressures with this unit: Get a good pressure checker like an Accutire. Inflate to the desired pressure + 5 PSI on the unit's gauge (checked with the motor off!). Pop off the inflation hose. Check the pressure with the Accutire to see how close you got. Do this several times. Adjust your target pressure on the CH gauge accordingly I typically get within a half-pound of the pressure I want with this unit on the first try. If you really don't like the hands-free connection, you can easily swap it for kind found at gas stations, but fair warning, that style doesn't work very well with a tankless compressor and the compressor is slow enough that you'll get very tired of holding the connector on. Summary: This is a great buy. I took off a star for the short hose, losable accessory cover, and lack of overheating protection, but I still recommend this unit strongly. It's by far the best alternative to using a hand pump, which is pretty much out of the question on my RV. ;)

Good.
The only downside to this product is it's pretty noisy. The last compressor I had from this company lasted for years. I can inflate anything from bicycle to auto tires. There is quite a collection of little fittings to accommodate different things. Case in point, filling up pool toys etc.

Fantastic inflator, much better than other units which are rather flimsy. Solid piece of equipment.
This is a very nice tire inflator which I would describe as a solid piece of equipment. I mistakenly thought my unit was dead and then found a review by "Kenneth Keller" who left valuable information regarding what fuse to get. Well he purchased his fuses on eBay I found mine on Amazon, the "BOJACK 5x20mm 2A 2amp 250V 0.2 x 0.78 Inch F2AL250V Fast-Blow Glass Fuses (Pack of 20 Pcs)" for six bucks! His recommendation was a "glass tube fuse (type: F2AL250V, size: 6mm x 30mm) which easily screws in-and-out of its receptacle on the side of the compressor." I recommend you get some of these fuses just in case... ????

Wish it was quicker
Had one made by this same company, it must have been 30 years old, it finally quit. Bought this one, it works just fine but I wish it was quicker. Hard to beat a air compressor style but they cost a lot more.

The best value for a 120V plug-in home inflator
I've now had and used this C-H 120V home inflator for more than two years. I've used it anyof number of times in my attached garage to keep both of my car's tires topped up to 32 to 33psi, including the full-sized spare and limited spare in both trunk's wheel wells, all without any problems. I've also used it in my basement for my hot water heater's expansion tank, topping-off its internal pressure to match my home's 55 psi water pressure. The C-H unit's 10-foot, 3-prong grounded power cord is of a thick, quality gauge and easily connects to my home's standard 120V outlets. When needed, I've also connected it to a 10-foot grounded extension cord of the same gauge and used this inflator without any problems over a 20-foot length. This unit has never gotten too hot, thanks to its on-board internal fan. CAUTION: Be aware that its maximum pumping duty-cycle is 20 minutes per session. Therefore, you'll then need to let this C-H inflator cool down for *at least* 20 minutes before safely resuming any inflation task. When compressing air, high heat is generated (basic high school physics), so you need to protect this unit's on-board pump motor, fan motor, and compressor to ensure a long operational life. Some here have reported having some difficulty with using the snap-on tire chuck. When I first received this compressor from Amazon, I "exercised" the chuck lever 10 times, after first squirting in a volume of silicon spray to lube the neoprene gasket inside (NOTE: use *only* silicon lube on neoprene to keep it supple and from drying out). I continue to do this several times a year and the tire chuck snaps-on-and-off quickly, never losing any air after an inflation session. Practice this several times and you'll "feel" the difference. Also keep your tires' valve stems clean, too, which will also help. I've not yet had a need for the 4 included accessory tips, so they've stayed in their storage compartment on the side of the inflator. NOTE: This unit uses a *2 amp* glass tube fuse (type: F2AL250V, size: 6mm x 30mm) which easily screws in-and-out of its receptacle on the side of the compressor. As an FYI, I bought a 5 fuse back-up pack of this type on eBay for $5.00, which included shipping. I could not find these specific metric fuses in my area, much to my surprise, so you might consider doing likewise for the future.

Well designed
This Amazon page combines three different Campbell Hausfeld products. This is for 120 Volt Inflator, Portable Compressor Air Pump (Campbell Hausfeld RP410099AV). It's a solid product. Plugs into home circuit. The air hose stores in a compartment that's not too tight, in a gentle curve. No sharp folds that would crack it.

This came up in the search for a car air ...
This came up in the search for a car air compressor but it does NOT have an A/C adapter. Just a regular power cord. Edit: less than 6 month into owning, it has stopped working. I used it TWICE in its life span. It's not even powerful enough to fill up a car tire. The PSI rating is completely made up. At most I got my tire to 20 PSI. Now, it doesn't work AT ALL. Is there a warranty??!!

Great Pump so far
This worked as described. I’m a 70 year old woman and used it several times to reinflate a garden tractor tire with a slow leak. I have only had it a few weeks so I cannot speak to longevity of the pump. Also I was dealing with 10 pounds of pressure and with that low amount it’s difficult to assess the accuracy; but the tire looked good to me. The scale goes up to 200 so for pressures under 10 it’s a guess. See photo. The pump looks like the image and the cables fit neatly in/around the box. If it continues to work over the next year, then I’ll up my review from 4 stars to 5 stars.

Good Value
Haven't used it yet, but made sure it works and it does, except it's very loud. It comes with a handy storage compartment built in to house various nozzles and the cord wraps around the base snugly, making it compact and easy to store. It also arrived much earlier than the ridiculously long delivery period posted. Can't beat the price either if you get it at 50% off, as I did. Nice little unit.

Product works fine. If you need to inflate a huge
Product works fine. If you need to inflate a huge, eg. truck tire it may not work as expected. For SUV, van, cars, bicycles, balls or anything that is not really huge, it will do the job. Noise is bearable when compared with the many portable compressors in the market. Price is OK. At par with others. I can recommend.
