great for kids with dry skin

my main reason for looking into a shower filter was for my kids (1.5 & 3.5 years old) who both have skin on the dry side and have patches of eczema. i bought this after a friend's suggestion (she uses one that you swish around in the bath water, but i don't give my kids baths - just showers in the bathtub) because her daughter's sensitive eyes would turn red from the bath water due to the chlorine. it was only after the first 2 weeks that i noticed the difference in their hair and skin even with the same shampoo/body wash. my daughter's hair was silkier just after shampoo alone and if i used a dab of conditioner, it was like butter! i now condition her hair every other wash or so whereas before i would always have to condition it if i didn't want tears/cries while i did her hair. their skin is less dry using the same lotion (amount and brand), as well. this is installed on the showerhead with our "hose" style showerhead attachment. needless to say, the filtered water only comes out of the showerhead and not the faucet at the bottom so when the kids DO take a bath, i just let it fill through the showerhead. also, you can't shut off the water anywhere past where the filter is installed at risk of it cracking - if you want a water-stopper, it needs to be installed before the filter which in my opinion wouldn't work at all because the filter itself pushes the entire showerhead out a good 6-7 inches. you'll just have to turn off the water mid-bath if need be. i'm tempted to buy one for our own bathroom even though my husband and i are fine with the water as is... i DID shower in their bathroom last night just to see how it felt (it's been installed for a few weeks now) and yes, the soap feels silkier and after conditioning, so does the hair! i would only give it 5 stars if i knew all chlorine was removed - which from previous reviews doesn't sound like it is. but, we're reaping some benefits so the kids bath will have this on from now on.

Ahhh, shower!

So, it's a nice shower filter. What can I say. ;-) Amazon shipped and sold this. I requested the free shipping and it came much faster than expected. Thanks Amazon. This was like $25 more at Whole Foods, which likes to eat my Whole wallet. I started getting things like this after watching the movie Tapped. Here's the premise: corporate interests are after the next best thing from oil. Namely, water. It is an $800+ billion dollar business in just bottled water alone. Many years ago, people said "why would I buy bottled water when I can just get it from the tap" Enter the sucker and the sucker's kids. Don't worry, I'm one too. OK, so companies like Nestle are using natural, untouched water supplies in places like beautiful Maine, for free! Then turning around and selling this for huge profits to people in the name of Poland Spring. Problem 1: drought and depletion of natural resources. In the future (20 years), there will only be enough water for 1/3 of the population. The other 2/3s will be licking their lips and wishing they were living next to a REALLY good water filter. Note: All public water is regulated and CONSTANTLY tested. Bottled water is not. I can put jack squat in effort into making a new bottled water company and I don't have to publicly declare this unless someone happens to inquire. Hmm. . Problem 2: The bottled water you buy is made from the same chemicals as Petroleum. Once the sun hits it, there IS EVIDENCE that this will leak/leech/what have you into your water. Next step, you drink it then feel sick. Symptoms in the long-term are associated with diabetes, dementia, obesity, cancer, you name it. Problem 3: The bottles we use are being chucked out into natural water supplies. Most of the oceans in the world are a slurry of junk that no one really cares to pick up. I'm pointing at you polluter! You know who I'm talking about. Back to the water filter. If you get this, you may think about changing your shower head so that you don't push out any residual. Pro: No more odd smelling water. I live in Chicago and the water here is treated with high amounts of Chlorine. Not good for the body, skin, hair, etc. I remember in places like New York, the water was great. Cons: None Note: As a further note, let's all do our part to help the environment. Right? We all have to live in this world and we can't keep just messing things up. Our kids are gonna have a long time to deal with this and so will we if we want to live here. I hear the moon has some places for rent. Any takers? Nah, didn't think so. Put your hand down polluter!

This really works!!

Been using this for years and it really does filter the chlorine out. My skin does get itchy when the filter is full and needs to be changed. Will keep buying these as long as I can find them.

YAY! Grateful to be able to take a shower and not be an itchy mess. Love this filter.

I love having my shower filter back. I love having a shower that does not make me all itchy. We moved, and our last shower filter was in a situation where we lived in a MOLDY apt, so we left it in the MOLD palace. WE had to get rid of most everything and start our life over. I did not realize how important that last shower filter was to my happiness and wellbeing. I had been quite itchy and bothered, I would take hot showers to help warm me up in the winter, and I was a hot, Welty and Itchy Mess. The filter is AMAZING. I can take a shower again and not get all Welty and itchy. I wish I would have thought of it sooner. Chlorine is not my friend. I Love this filter. I have not tried the Aromatherapy ring yet. I think mint might be lovely when when hubby gets stuffy. The filter is SUPER easy to install, I have done it in the past; but I am short and it is just easier for my hubby to instal it. Plus hubby likes to install stuff. The filter comes with the Plumber’s Tape to help get a good fit. The filter has worked well with every shower I ever had. I always replace the shower head with one that can be a hand held with different settings. If you have a regular shower head, might make your showerhead hang lower {so if are tall, you might want to change your showerhead to a handheld one that is UBER adjustable.}. The replacement filters are easy to find on amazon, and even health foood stores. You only need to replace them once a year. I set a reminder, with Alexa.

Easy to install

I had the same brand of shower filter which I hadn't replaced the filter in years. My skin and breathing started reacting to the chlorine. I found this one online (same model as mine) and could easily install it. Skin and breathing are much better.

Great natural shower filter

Love the new wave shower filter.. no Chlorine smell any longer and hair is much better condition. Skin feels better too. A great investment.

Not bad

Easy to install. Bought it to check if it helps in reducing hair fall since my building gets tanker water. After 2 months use, I can see some difference. Hair fall has reduced marginally.

Result as little bit expected

Started from 4 days. Observed less itching and little bit softness skin. Have to more observe. I bought this for mainly my irritating flaking scalp. I have tried all medicines include homeopathy. All of that not cure. So i bought this for testing my tap water. I am waiting for better result. I have flaking scalp since 5 years.

Impressive packaging, I can feel the difference in the water, a "serious" shower water filter imo.

Been using shower filters for probably 20 years now. Even made my own (large and unweildy). I can smell chlorine from tap water. I cannot smell chlorine if the water goes thru this filter. Works. Fyi, I also tested water coming from another filter, with a chlorine chemical tester, and most of the chlorine was removed by that (used-up water filter, in use for 7 months). BTW, it is possible to put these filters, back-to-back, for even more filtering. I do. I have another filter in-line with this one. It is smaller than I thought, though, and "size matters" in these filters.

Curly Girl With Low Porosity Hair is Digging This Filter!

Been using this filter for about 2 or so weeks now, and it’s made a big difference in terms of how my curly hair locks in moisture. Immediately I noticed the softness of my curls and skin under the water, and my curls are beginning to become more defined (it’s not ALL the filter. I’m using natural, chemical-free products and doing my best not to eat chemical-ladened foods — but the filter FOR SURE took it to the next level). My skin is also less dry, and showering has become a worry-free time for me. I don’t have to think about what my hair and body might be absorbing from the water. Will definitely purchase this again when the year is up! Side note: I tried the aroma ring, but perhaps I didn’t put in enough essential oils or my shower isn’t hot enough because I can’t really smell anything (I have an angled pipe, so maybe that’s also an issue). But, as this was a bonus to the main reason for purchasing, I don’t really mind.
