Good Boot

I love the Shadow Trek for a couple reasons in particular 1/ They are light weight and even after a day out hunting you don't even no there on your feet. 2/ Because the soul is a little bit more flexable or forgiving they are easier to hunt quietly in. The only reason I dropped a star was comparing to the fit of my Grizzly Tracker at size 11.5 EE the Shadow Trek 11.5 EE put a lot of presure on top of my right foot (my right foot being the larger) and actually hurt giving me a numb foot after a day hunting. I was thinking they might have broken in a little but no stretch or movement happened and I currently sold these on and have a pair of size 12 EE US on the way. As far as no stretch is concerned I see this as a reflection of there solid build and quality however they are a tight fitting 11.5 EE compared to the Grizzly Trackers of the same size and that is a let down when you think you have the sizes sorted. I will update the review when I have info after putting them though mud, creeks and in general New Zealand's tough terrain.

The width feels fine, but seem a little long

I bought these a 1/2 size larger than my normal based on other reviews and recommendations to get a 1/2 size bigger for a snow camping trip. The width feels fine, but seem a little long. Thought of getting my normal size and one 1/2 larger, and returning the one I didn't want to keep, but I didn't. I'll test the real feel out on the camping trip. The height of the boot will be great, and can tell my feet will stay warm. If need be, I can always wear a sock liner for the length. Went ahead and returned the 9 for the 8 1/2. Although it felt fine, I soon learned it got tight after walking in them a while. What a mistake, should have kept the 9. I unfortunately found that out 3 miles in to a 4.5 mile hike. Worst blisters I ever got. My toes were crampedand my heels had blisters. Now I have a used pair of boots i don't want to wear. Order big. They're warm, just run small.

WOW! These things are comfy!

These are by far my favorite pair of boots, and i've had no problems wearing these on hunts, hikes, and camping trips for days. They fit me perfectly and are very comfortable. There was a very small break in period, that was much less than i expected. The tread is quite grippy, but probably won't save you from slipping on a very slick surface (i.e wet moss on a very smooth stone). Excellent ankle support and very warm. I was able to wear these in about 20deg F weather with just one pair of wool socks and my toes felt very comfortable, even while resting. Water proofing is accecptable, but as with almost any boot, if your whole foot takes a dunk, you're probably going to be miserable. My father purchased a different model of Irish setter boots (elk trackers i believe) and they are awesome as well. The quality of this line is outstanding and I expect several years of use with this pair alone.

best performing hunting boot on the market

I have never written a product review before, but because of how well these boots performed I felt obligated to share. Thanks to reading the reviews of the product before I purchased I knew to order a larger size. I am a true size 10.5 and ordered the 11. they fit very well, but are a bit narrow, but not to the point that they are uncomfortable. My guess is with more wear they will shape well to my foot. The best part of this boot is the performance. I went duck hunting in these boots and my feet were dry and warm the entire day. I walked through creeks and water levels 4-5 inches deep and my feet never felt wet. If you want the best performing boot on the market I highly recommend this product.

Great boot but they run small

I love the boots and look forward to putting them to the test in this fall's elk hunt. My only caveat is that you should believe the reviews that say this boot is *tight*. I ordered the 9 Medium which is the size I wear on every other pair of shoes and boots I own. I had to return them and replace with the 9.5 EE which fit nicely. If you wear very thick socks you might consider going one whole size larger and unless you have extremely narrow feet, go with the EE width. At least that's my experience.

Best hunting boots

Best hunting boots I have ever had. I had my 1st pair for 8 years before I had to replace them with this new pair. Once these are broken in they are the most comfortable pair of hunting boots I have ever owned. I normally wear them with a liner sock and one pair of think wool socks and my feet stay warm in tree stands all day with temps into the mid 20s. One trick I have learned is to not tie them tight. In fact I tend to leave fairly lose. This seems to impact blood circulation and my feet stay warmer without sweating.

Sized slightly small

I have been wearing a size 13 my adult life, the Irish Setter Shadow Trek was sized small for a size 13. Considering this boot is best as cold weather apparel where thicker than normal hunting socks are typically worn, you would think it would run slightly larger, but that is not the case. I exchanged for a size 14 and it fits well with my hunting socks on. Like the boot, just sized small

Good boot, poor customer service

I like the boots and the fit. They are a little snug across my feet, but I don't want them too loose, so they will work. However, when I opened the boot box they appeared to have been out of the box previously (maybe a return or display). One boot was laced up with loose strings and the other boot did not have a strong at all. Most of the time when I buy "new" footwear they are presented as "new" and have paper inside the boot and laces tied inside the boot as well. I like the boot but I'm extremely disappointed at the service and lack of quality checking before shipping these.
