Mediocre But Does The Job
NEED: I ordered this train table for my 2 year old as we have limited space in our townhome and we wanted something that wouldn't take up all of the floor space. I also was looking for a table that looked nice, fun and had interesting accommodating pieces. This table is exactly what I was looking for in size, except for the height. I needed a train table to give my son a flat and solid surface to play with his trains that wasn't our carpet or tv stand. SIZE: This table is NOT as tall as stated. It's height sits at a measly 13" and not 19" as stated. The other two measurements are accurate. My son is two and while playing with the table, he can easily push it with his body weight while leaning across it to play with the tracks. QUALITY: The tracks provided are of standard quality and compatible the other generic wooden train tracks we've purchased. We use all of the wooden magnetic Thomas trains and generic trains from Walmart on these tracks and they fit just fine. The generic trains that come with the set are also compatible to our wooden Thomas trains (magnetically). The police car and the fire engine do not have magnets but the fire engine has a workable ladder. The bridge itself is made of plastic on the outside and middle track piece is actually cardboard. A small chunk of the cardboard chipped within the first day of playing with it. This is disappointing - especially because you would think the center would be wood and not cardboard for track consistency. The plastic portion in the bridge is easily bendable and not as hard of plastic as hoped. The accessories that come with the table are nice to have, but my son ignores them (the trees, the buildings). The tote bin that comes with this set is flimsy and while it fits everything that comes with the table, it's structural integrity is terrible and it ripped when we lifted it after a few days of use. The table top insert is sturdy, thick and comes in two pieces that are unattached from each other (from my understanding, some boards fold in the middle). The opposite side of the table top boards are a plain wood color. There is a piece of wood going through the middle of the table to support the table top boards. The table itself is nice and of good quality, however, the table arrived with the stickers peeling and my son was able to grasp an edge and rip to his hearts content. I was hoping to return this table based on the height discrepancy and the stickers peeling, however, he pulled the sticker before I could get it back in the box and I do not feel appropriate returning it now that he has caused damage to the stickers. I glued them back down in hopes that the look of the table wouldn't be affected and that they stay. *fingers crossed* EXPECTATIONS: Upon reading other reviews, it appears buyers are hoping to keep the track in tact at all times. I can tell you this is impossible with a toddler unless you hot glue it down; I set up a track, he tears it down within minutes and wants to rebuild. We also do not insist on keeping the same track set up and we build our own designs frequently since we have extra track pieces that we've had prior to the purchase of this table. With that being said, I agree that the wooden blocks provided to support the elevated portion of this track are not very functional as they move with use and almost instantly fall down. In order to set up different tracks on this table, we need a lot of little curved pieces and sometimes it is just an inch or two shy of us being able to make the turn work. In the end, my kiddo loves the table. As a purchaser, I'm slightly disappointed with a lot of little things about this table, but my major concern is the height discrepancy and the fact that the stickers were already peeling. Combined with the flimsy quality of the tote and bridge - I'm giving this product a 3 star rating.

Really nice. Only problem is that the tracks don't stay together very well where the track is elevated. Also the way in which these sections are elevated isn't very toddler friendly. They are wood blocks that just sit under the elevated track so are constantly getting knocked down and then those parts of the track detach. We ended up hot gluing the track together and so far it has worked to keep it intact. Since the pieces of the track are made to be elevated, there isn't really another choice but to put the track together as shown so the blocks used should somehow be affixed to those parts of the track so they aren't always getting knocked over - or have to be glued.

Great train set for a toddler!
Ok, I'll agree with other comments about the tracks coming apart easily. True. Especially when they rise up. There are little blocks that go under the joints to support the tracks, but with my sons constant use of it and the whole set of tracks sliding, these blocks will move and a few track pieces come undone. No biggie, just annoying when he does it 10 times in a row. Overall, he absolutely loves this set and won't leave it! I was able to re-configure the tracks to take out the bridge (he was always getting made when the tracks fell off around the bridge area). It still uses the elevated pieces (which connect together now) and forms an oval. It's a bit easier and doesn't come apart as easily.

speaking on my son behalf this is a good table, it brings a lot of pieces and it is comparable with most Thomas and friends trains. it doesn't bring instructions to build the tracks but the table is easy to put together, you can custom make your own tracks, you may also use the table with out tracks the painting in the ta table sets are very realistic, this was a great birthday gift for my son

We LOVE This!
This train table set was my sons favorite birthday present! Easy to assemble and so many extra little pieces that it keeps him busy for hours! Trees, officer people, tunnels, bridges, you name it. I also loved that it came with two baskets to keep pieces in that fit perfectly under the table. This will be a favorite toy for years to come. Well worth the money!
