So vibrant with an embossed look! Good for beginners as well.

I am by NO means, a calligraphy expert, or even someone with any calligraphy experience whatsoever. I just enjoy experimenting and using it for fun projects. This year I used the gold and red inks for my “Santa presents” tags. And it made it look so cute. If you have more experience than me, it will look really cute! Luckily my son is only 4 and won’t look too close at the tags. Hopefully by the time he does I will have gotten a little better lol. The ink is so glittery and vibrant. And it pops up on the page. You can add more or less water depending on how much you want the letters to come off the page. The mixing instructions are simple as well. My one wish is that it came with ink bottles to store the ink in, once it’s been made, and/or some nibs that they recommend using with their ink. Or even just additional package that gives the option to include those add ons. But I found this ink worth the search for the additional products!

Beautiful Colors!

The photos are my very first attempts at using these diy mixable metallic inks, and ontop of that I used a unique dip/well pen. For the first time as well. They are beauuuuutiful, Andi love that I can mix up myself because sometimes I need just a tiny tiny amount, then I won't waste as much product. The ink when using a calligraphy pen or the dip/well pen. I had used it doesn't lay flat against the paper, but when I use a paint brush it's beautifully flat against the paper. I love love and will definitely be recommending!!

Nice colors

The media could not be loaded. First time trying out Jacquard Pearl Ex set. Easy to mix. Doesn’t need precise measurements. It’s a 4:1:4 ration of pearl ex, gum Arabic, and water. Too thick won’t even come off nib, adjust water by drops with pipette until you get those nice fine hair lines. I can tell there are definitely colors that will be called upon more often than others. But this is a good sampler to see if you like it before investing in larger jars. As always it’s hard to show metallic or glitter with a camera, but hopefully the video gives you an idea of how they look. Very satisfied.

Love the colors

Love the colors of this ink. However for calligraphy it's runny and so you need to thicken it up. Yes, I would purchase again.

Not ready to use

I thought these were ready to use bottles of ink. They are not. These bottles contain the pigment you need to make your own ink. The good news, gum Arabic which is needed to turn the pigments into inks, is include in the package. I wasn’t planning on making my own ink. I may some day, but not now. *** If you are looking for pigments to make your own ink, these should be suitable.

Know what you’re doing before you buy this.

Can’t fault them because I didn’t know what I was buying. I mixed it as per instructions but it didn’t come out as expected and my glass dip pen did not take to it very well. Instead I added the shimmering powders to my existing inks and it made them really nice so still four or five stars. The packaging could have been better however. The jar were turned and one of them had come open. There was a grittiness to everything.

Not a good deal

I thought that these were going to be some extra pizazz to this powdered mica like something special that I haven’t seen before for the price and the small amount and I was extremely disappointed it has nice sparkle but the colors are ordinary colors I can but 5 grams for less than 2 bucks on tkb or on here the variety packs of mica have the same colors they are the same pigment me too.. they are very sparkly but I can buy sparkle shimmer mica and add to any color mica to receive the same for less than 4 dollars made.. so I’m not impressed

1/4 of package are not good the rest are great

I can’t understand 3 white powders with Very poor quality and are not shiny!!! It’s just waste of money for costumers to have them in the package; could be green, brown, or even black instead!!! The rest of them are very good! Love the shiny ones!

Perfect for making unique calligraphy colours

I bought this as a gift for someone starting out learning calligraphy but who loves to be individual in colours . The report back was that it was great, she has been able to use it for raised lettering by making it thicker, and for mixing unique colours. The colours are gorgeous. I have also used Jacquard PearlEx before, but never in a calligraphy set. They are excellent quality so I was confident the set would be too. It was better than anticipated.

These are just so beautiful They mix lovely with watercolour and alcohol inks and can be used for so many other projects They come in a handy glass jar with a screw lid and are easy to,store Great to use with Black paper as the colour will just pop!

Perfect for calligraphers and artists

I used it as an ink and I was so in love! They are so tiny, though. Then again, I don’t mind because it looks like it can go a long way. I will definitely recommend this to calligraphers and artists. Although, I suggest to use a good nib as well. I tried to use an imperial nib and was quite messy. However, I got a Zebra G which worked perfectly woth the ink.

A little goes a long way

These jars look small but you really don't need much of this product. A little goes a long way and any excess powder can be put back in the jar and reused - no problem.
