Just what I needed

I needed a basic curtain rod without any frills or extreme design features and which would work well with simple linen curtains. These rods are very suitable and I rated them a 4 because there are some things to note when installing. The rods expand using 3 rods. One slides into each end of the other two creating a middle rod. This works well but needs to be balanced so that it doesn't sag in the middle when you expand the rod. To do this I put a bit of painters tape at the center point on the middle rod and then made sure that the rod went equally into each of the other two sides. I taped each side with a bit of painters tape to keep everything in place and then once the curtain was hung I carefully removed the tape. Yes, there is a center support the help with sagging but I couldn't use it due to the window configuration. Also, keep in mind that the brackets for the rod are not made of very heavy duty material so treat it with care so that they don't bend or break. The finials on the end also get pushed into the ends of the curtains. They are two different sizes. One fit into it's end easily and the other needed some real pressure to fit in. The kit indicates that there is an adaptor for the smaller end, but in my set this was already installed on the end. For fundamental needs, these are great and very economical.

Heavy duty curtain rods, hold heavy drapes, and are very sturdy. These are way more solid than a typical curtain rod

My dog was bouncing up against our thermal curtains and broke the common curtain rod you would buy in a Walmart, or other department store. This rod, while not perfect, is heavy duty regardless what other reviewers said. The rod can be improved by having a way to lock its length once it is set. So as it is now, the rods slide easily, and it makes it hard to handle when threading the curtain onto it. as you are pushing the rods through the curtain tops, the rod is shrinking in size. I eventually set the size, then taped it to keep the size. After all, the tape is hidden in the curtain, so nobody can see it. It was easier to handle that way. The can easily change the design so it can get tight by twisting it after its length is set. The next thing may be to increase the size of the screw on caps by another inch, so they can slide back into the drapes. We had to keep our hands on the rod to hold the drapes form creeping off the rod ends. In any case, they are heavy duty, and fixed the problem I had.I used special dry wall screws that are made to hold 50 lbs each. I had to drill the holes for the screws just a little bigger to get it through, as the threads on the screws were exaggerated, or big and deep, this is how it holds in the dry wall board. A bonus is that around most windows, under the plaster it a metal edge. I drilled a pilot hole to get it starts through that metal, into the wood that is under it. These brackets are not coming down.

Looks great

Used this curtain rod in-one of our bedrooms and it looks great. Bedroom has one window and is not large room so I wanted smaller rod. This rod fit the bill!

Mark up easily

In terms of function these were just what I needed. They are sturdy and easy to hang. I just wanted a narrow curtain on both ends of a long blind for accent therefore, I needed a short rod. These fit the bill. However, after a few weeks of being hung they’ve started to get black marks all over them from the curtain grommet rings rubbing on them. Probably a result of curtains swaying in the breeze.? Not sure if the marks are actual scratched off metal finish or some other kind of mark. But it is ascetically unpleasant. We have 10’ ceilings so I haven’t climbed up close to look yet.

Very good quality

Arrived in excellent condition. Some previous reviews said theirs arrived with plastic push on finials. Mine are metal screw on ones. Very happy with the purchase. Color is an oil rubbed bronze tone.

Great looking, great price, easy to install

Compared to the other items for sale out there, I thought the price of this curtain rod set was great. The rods are very light weight however the wall brackets that come with it are very sturdy. These brackets do have a small base, so since I was using a power drill to install, I needed to attach an extension bit to my drill in order to clear the bracket and make installation easier. Other than that, this was a great purchase, and I am very happy with it! P.S. I successfully paired this bracket set with a corner adapter (separate purchase) and a smaller bracket set.

Plastic finials don't fit the larger side of rod

New 2 star review: The only way to get the plastic end to fit was to figure out which piece was designed to be the adapter, position the finial over the end of the rod, and pound it in. My husband put the finial on the floor, stuck the rod into it and pushed down hard on it - not sure I would have been able to get the same result. So it's possible to use it as intended but it takes a fair amount of work to make it happen and I'm not convinced the discounted price is worth it. Original 1 star review: I don't mind plastic finials as long as they fit. These don't! The instructions even acknowledge that the larger rod requires an adapter and claims that it's pre-installed but neither type of end that comes with the kit has an adapter that allows the finial to fit. That means I have no way to secure the curtains on the rod and they'll slide right off. If the manufacturer can explain how to fix this I'll update my review. As of now, the curtain rods cannot be used as intended making this is one of my worst purchases.

Easy to install

Product was used in the living room. It is simple and understated. Your eye is drawn to the curtain and not the rod.

Not happy with the rods

These rods are much thinner than they appear on line. They are also a shiny jet black. Not what I wanted. They are much too thin for my needs. On line they are pictured to appear thicker.

Too thin

These rods are a shiny jet black and a lot thinner than they are pictured on line. They are too thin for my needs. I don't like the shiny jet black. I thought they were espresso.

Not very sturdy

The pic looks sturdier than the rod actually is. We ended up taping the joints on the rod as the curtains kept pulling it apart. Because it is in a bedroom where only we will see it, we just taped it rather than return it.
