Chimes stopped working after 13 months
We loved this clock. The transitional design and the fact the chimes silenced during the sleeping hours was great. However, after 13 months (one month after warranty expired) the chimes stopped working. Reached out to Seiko and found out they did not support their clocks any longer but they directed me to who did. The phone number given did not work but googled the name and Emailed them. They responded quickly with a fix that “might” work but it did not. If that didn’t work they gave me a long list of repair shops. None in my area. So I guess we will just have a clock that fortunately does keep time but we did love the chimes.

Very Nice!
I had been looking for a chiming mantel clock to replace one that stopped working after many years of service. This one is precisely what I was seeking. It has a rich, attractive finish (appears to be made of wood rather than plastic, which is usual at this low price), has a clean face that is easy to read, and keeps good time. It chimes on each quarter hour as well as the time on the hour. I am very glad that I carefully read reviews, because I discovered that many other clocks do not chime like this. It has a nice tone and the volume is easy to adjust. Unlike my old mantel clock, this one is easy to set. My only criticism is that the access door on the back fits very tightly -- perhaps too tightly, because I had to use quite a bit of pressure to remove it. I currently have the access door only partially in place, which is adequate because it can't be seen. I am waiting to completely close the door until after I reset the clock over the weekend when Daylight Savings Time begins.

Wonderful clock! It came packaged very well & appeared flawless. This clock looks & sounds beautiful & keeps time perfectly. I highly recommend!! **Update-It is now January of 2018 & this clock is still keeping perfect time & chiming beautifully on the original set of batteries. I have gotten so many compliments & I highly recommend this beautiful clock. Its sounds bring me joy. **Update-It is now July of 2020 & this clock is STILL one of my favorite purchases. I’ve had it 4 years now & have had to change the batteries only once. It still keeps perfect time & still sounds as beautiful as the day I got it. I highly recommend this clock. **Update-It’s now Oct 2021 & I know I’ve updated my reviews on this clock a couple times already, but that just shows how much I still love it. It still keeps perfect time, still sounds beautiful & looks gorgeous. A highly recommended purchase. **Update-Currently Sept 2022 & still one of my best Amazon purchases. Time for a nice clock!
I am very happy I bought this clock for my living room. It is beautiful and appears to be well made. The color of the wood is a little darker than most of my walnut furniture but it fits in just fine. The look of the silver pendulum is very contemporary (it is missing the gold round dial at the bottom which is very old fashioned), but the chime reminds me of a very serene time in my life. I have set it to a very soft Westminster chime and it is just enough hear or not hear depending on the activity in the house. There is a second chime option if you want something unique. That is what I wanted so the price was justified although at first I thought it was a little high compared to Marshalls or TJXX. The way I look at it, no one has fooled with it and it came to my house in pristine condition.

A Great Clock
I was a bit skeptical when I ordered this clock as the price was significantly lower than most other clocks I had been considering. I was replacing an old chiming clock that was just past it's prime. I am very happy to report that this item exceeded all of my expectations. The wooden case is beautifully finished, the clock face is bright and readable and, most importantly, the chimes are beautiful. This clock is much easier to use than the one I replaced. It is very easy to set the time, turn on or off the night feature, and choose the type of chime. I am very pleased with my purchase. It would be nice if Amazon would put the actual dimensions in the descriptive material as I was not sure exactly how large or small it may be. As it turned out it was exactly what I was looking for. If you are looking for a nice mantel clock I think this is a great buy and seems to be a high quality item.

Reliable little clock for the money
I missed the chiming of my grandfather clock, so I bought this clock to go in a second home. It is a smallish clock and it would disappear on a large mantle, but on a side table, it looks great. I had no problems with the settings. The chimes are slightly flat, and even tone-deaf me noticed it in the beginning, but I am used to it now. However, if you have a good ear, or are used to the rich, beautiful tones of a true grandfather clock, there's a chance that aspect may drive you nuts and you may or may not find it acceptable over time. On the plus side, it was expensive, it keeps great time and I love the night feature where you can turn off the chimes from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

What a beautiful timepiece! It keeps time accurately and the melodious chimes bring so much charm to our household. The wooden case is glossy and the clock face is sleek and classy. Definitely a Seiko in terms of style and accuracy. We love it!
