Should have had one ages ago!
I have 2 small shihtzus. One is almost 10lbs and the other just under 6lbs. The two fit on this car seat perfectly. Wouldn't use for 2 dogs that are over 10lbs or so, as it would be too tight of a fit. My two just fit with not much extra room to spare! Was worried they would bark and hate being in it together but they are both extremely happy in this seat! I feel much safer driving this way with them both in the car, as they do not ever sit still! Love it!!

Perfect fit
I bought 3 of these for a cross country trip for my 3 dachshunds. They fit them perfectly. Everybody had there own comfy bed and a view to see out the back seat. Best Amazon purchase ever.

Perfect car seat.
My pup loves it. It's sturdy and comfortable. It's the right height. My dog loves to look out the window and this is perfect. I only wish is had a zipper side pocket for things.

Works pretty well for my 19 lb doggo
Overall, I like this car seat. I ordered a few different ones and tried them all out but ended up only keeping this one. It is great in a lot of ways. I like the way it straps in with the seat belt through it almost like a kid's booster seat would. That gives it much more security and helps keep my pup secure and in place. It could be a slight annoyance if you plan to be taking it in and out of your car a lot. My dog is a doxy/terrier/pug rescue, 19 lbs and this seat works although I wish it gave her just another inch of room to get situated in. It has really high edges around it which make it hard for her to have her paws up on the window edge like she sometimes wants to do. It has a leash attachment that can be hidden and tucked away underneath the cushion so that is convenient to have available. Compared to some of the other seats I tried, this one feels much lighter and almost a little cheaper - kind of like it is full of just foam (which it probobly is) with removable zip up covers around the 2 pieces. But we are making it work. I have yet to try to try washing the removable cover. I have a 5th gen Toyota 4Runner and she rides in this in the front seat. I would recommend this product but if your dog is more than ~19 lbs, maybe consider something bigger.

My Puggle Rides Comfortably
I have a 20 pound, senior puggle. Got this for car trips to make sure she was comfortable and secure. Super easy to install in front bucket seats of my car. Thick cushion on bottom and nice high sides. There is a thing (can’t think of word) in seat to attach to dogs harness so she can’t jump out and keeps her safe if I have to brake quickly. Roomy enough for her to sleep in. Larger dogs would not fit in it. We need to secure our dogs just like we secure children in cars. I think it also makes them feel more secure. Recommend.

Doesn’t work with shoulder straps
The seat itself is nice. Tall which is great for little dogs to look out the window. However, it doesn’t have a modification to attach to car if seatbelts have shoulder strap. Unfortunately for us, the car it was intended for has shoulder straps for all passengers- even all 3 rear seats. So, we aren’t able to use this as a car seat.

My dog was super comfy
As you can see in the photo my dog is absolutely comfortable in it ! I am happy with this product, and I know you shouldn’t put pet seats in the front, but I do as you can see. I wouldn’t bank on this to be a “protective” device, it’s more so just to make your pet comfortable and keep them contained. Only use this with a harness obviously. My dog doesn’t move around in it much so I don’t hook him in he just sits and naps. It has two harness clips so you could clip two dogs in if you wanted. My white dog is 20 pounds and my black dog is 3 pounds and they fit in there decently together to be able to sit comfortably. It was super light, I expected the seat to have some weight to it but it’s virtually just foam blocks and padding covered by a fleece/faux fur material. Regardless I still enjoy it enough to keep it and the price was decent compared to a lot of similar products. Ideally you’d want to have this in the backseat for the best safety, but there isn’t really any “safe” dog seats besides maybe being in a crate in the back, but my dog likes to look out the window and life is short so I let them enjoy the ride.

Making car journeys less stressful
The media could not be loaded. *see pics/video for how to secure seat* My little guy is not a fan of the car. He used to cry and move around the whole time but did better once I got a seatbelt. He is doing even better in his new booster now that he can see out the window. The seat is sturdy and is big enough for Archie to lay down (though he is small at 3.2kgs). The clip for the collar is less sturdy- the clasp seems weak. The seat fits snuggly when secured and doesn't move around. As others have noted there are no instructions for securing the seat. I have included pics; just feed the seatbelt through the slots at the bottom. I (and Archie) would prefer the lip at the front to be at the same height rather than the cut out (it doesn't make a difference for ease of getting him in and out). Cream is really not the best choice of colours for a dog seat so I've covered with a towel so I don't have to worry about cleaning the seat. Overall pleased with this product.

Safety comfort and style
My westie now travels in comfort, safety and style. Before this, my poor pup would wear a basic seatbelt leash and sit on the car chair clinging on when we went round a corner but now he lounges securely and comfortably and he also has a raised view out of the window which is nice for him. The raised sides of the seat are sturdy and it has a good installation section for putting the seatbelt through. The covers are removable for washing and the area where the dog sits is a soft micro fleece fabric. It says to install the seat on the back seat of the car but I have him in the front passenger seat and this is also secure. The seat does not move once installed and I just clip him in using the leash clip inside the seat. It is nice that we can travel together like this and that he is safe and comfortable. I highly recommended.

Misleading Dimensions In Description
I have a 6 month old Cavapoo, weighing 7.6kg. You can see from the picture that he just about fits when sitting. The dimensions in the description are from further edge to furthest edge, but the actual dimensions of the area the dog can sit in are:- Width 17" (43cm) Depth 13" (34cm) Back height from cushion 11" (28cm) I haven't used it for him to travel in yet as I'm unsure whether to keep it. I just wanted to make other buyers aware that the dimensions aren't quite accurate as far as area for the dog to make themselves comfy in.

Wish I’d bought it sooner!
My mini daxi is car sick and doesn’t like the stop start journeys. I read that car sickness for dogs could be helped if they could see out of the window. So I purchased this after lots of research. I love it and so did he! He can stand up and look out of the window and when he’s bored of that, he can curl up in the warmth of the furry seat and go to sleep, which he did! Cream looks lovely, but not the best colour to keep clean I don’t think!

Really surprised with the functionality and quality of this AmazonBasics product.
What a difference this has made for travelling with our Jack Russell! Previously, she has been strapped in a canvas type car carrier which had straps that secured around the headrest. This one secures with the seatbelt going through the bottom of the bucket seat - this is much better as there are no straps coming down for her to get tangled up in. This bucket seat is big enough for her to turn around in and she has even started to lay down in it instead of fretting. I think as it is also a booster, she is happier as she can look out the window and the lining is very cosy, plus she is tethered securely to her harness without being too restrictive. Yes, being a Jack Russell, she did try and get out of the seat a couple of times initially, but now all good and she can manage a 2 hour journey comfortably!
