Absolutely the best
I should have ordered this 2 weeks ago when I started my project it completely saved the last few days for me, great quality, easy to wipe and saved hours of work scraping windows.

Exactly what I needed
I needed to paint the top of my walls where they meet the ceiling, and this gadget was perfect. It helped me get a nice clean line with no mess, and painting went much faster. I also used it on the baseboards, where it worked very well too. I can tell that it's a high-quality piece that will be useful for future painting projects. Wish I'd had it years ago!

Expensive Junk
It's a crappy piece of sheet metal... Why is it so expensive? Paint gets all over it and you have to clean it off after every swipe. Should cost a quarter of the price considering there's really no advantage to using it and paint sticks to it like anything.

Great Paint Tool Hack
Did exactly what I needed it to do! I use to have to cut the molding on the baseboards with tape, I got this tool because I saw someone using it to paint their moldings. I purchased this tool and it’s cut my workload in half.

Nice shield along baseboards
Works good along baseboards

First paint shield
Takes a minute to get the hold of it but then it replaces painters tape

Too short
The paint shield works as expected, and is decent enough for what it does. However, it is very short and makes doing the job with it almost as long as it would be to do by hand or using tape.

Nice tool, does the job it needs to.
I have two paint shields, this one and a larger flexible plastic one. The metal edge on this one makes it very useful for fine lines and use against straight edges. It's also easier and faster to clean with a wet cloth on the job and you can scrape any dry paint off the metal surface without damaging it. The larger plastic tool I have is relegated to less detailed work in larger coverage areas. Using the Amazon tool may slow you down when working with big brushes, so I suggest getting both types and switching as necessary if you're doing a lot of painting.

Good value. Remember to wipe after each use.
For the price this is hard to beat. I used it to avoid painting the carpet and wall when painting the skirting boards. It is NOT flexible in anyway, so any bumps will raise it up from being flat and you're likely to have paint get behind it. Also note, for best results you should wipe the blade after each length of use. So paint the length of the shield, wipe it, then paint another length. I think that is where people are going wrong.

Useful but not perfect
Useful for those intricate decorating details when you want to minimise paint splatter, e.g. glossing skirting boards as close to carpet as possible. However, it doesn't catch everything as walls are rarely square so inevitably there will be a gap between the blade and the wall

Good idea but…
Good idea but I found lines weren’t completely clean or straight (maybe my fault) and the blade has to be cleaned after every pass. Also found I didn’t have enough hands to hold everything when doing high areas. Back to masking tape I think.

No clean lines
Unfortunately even though I clean carefully between each use the lines are not very clean. However it’s an option when decorator tape peels off existing paint!
