Couple suggestions on design but otherwise happy!
Bought this specifically because of the foldout handle for reeling it in. It is made from plastic which I knew, but that means those handles are kind of flimsy and I could see them breaking if you're too rough with them. Only other suggestion is that I would like to occasionally use it without opening the handle, like a normal finger spool, which could easily be done if the center hole was bigger. The snap is overkill and that's actually good, but I replaced one with a smaller one out of preference...nothing wrong with it. Otherwise, it's a great product, and like I say I was attracted to the design. Was split between this or an aluminum reel, and ultimately settled on this because I liked the design being the only one like it I'd seen. If they could make a version made out of that, this thing would be sweet! That may also double the price though...for what it is, I'm highly satisfied and would buy again. Might be hard to use with gloves...

This reel is cheap, the "winding" feature (the crank) is pretty much useless when you could just wrap the line around the reel by hand (and I found myself doing that). This reel is also overwound (i.e. there is a lot of string; it barely fits on the reel) - it would be easier if there was less string and more reel space. While fidgeting with this thing, I've actually lost control of a DSMB (which was luckily picked up by the boat). I've ditched this reel in place of a metal "finger spool" which is a lot easier to use and hasn't resulted in any incidents. Go for a finger spool instead of this product; they are simple and easy to use, they have lots of extra "reel space" for the string.

Cheap but works
The plastic is kind of cheap and not very durable, I just use it when I need to have a dive flag above me and I can hold onto it. I have also unclipped the rope and slid a 2lb weight on the rope so I can leave the spool with the weight and feel comfortable leaving it down while I am free to go anywhere. You get what you pay for, and it works and serves its purpose but it is rather cheap.

Small and compact
For the money this thing is perfect. I hate having a bunch of stuff hanging off my BCD and this is small enough to keep in a pocket until needed and works great. It does take a bit longer to wind back in but if your only using this for emergency or once in a blue moon then I think it's completely worth it.

String is not strong
It seemed okay but the string snapped on the second use. Had to surface, swim to my flag that was floating away and tie the string on again or we would have had to end our dive when we just started.

It's nice and small but the line fills the entire spool ...
It's nice and small but the line fills the entire spool and so no room to clip the link through the holes to secure the string etc - I'll have to cut some of the line off so it doesn't take as much space which will reduce the working length.The winding mechanism seems to work ok but is a bit awkward because the handle is at the edge, not the center - will just take a bit of getting used to.

Not best for smb deployment
After deploying 5 smb's I have switched to a simple stick your finger through the middle spool. I found this awkward to let unspool.
