Needs modifications to work right
I was excited when I got my sluice box, until I went to use it with my more experienced friend. First thing he said is that it’s a decent sluice box but if you don’t want to lose gold you’ll need to modify it. He also said the hole in the feed creates a vortex that will suck down tiny flakes 1. Seal up every fold in the locked location ....every gap and hole. Never fold it again. Use water proof silicone. 2. Plug the hole with gorilla tape backing and silicone 3.Replace the carpet with a better sluice matt. The wire mesh traps a ton of rocks. If it builds up too high the gold flows right over it. I still gave this 3 stars, it worked and trapped gold, but I’ve now turned it into a box that doesn’t fold and put a few hours into replacing the mat with a one piece mat, so I’ll see how that works. I reattached the handle/strap on one side so it will still be easy to carry. I put gorilla tape on the back of the hole in the feeder and sealed it up. Sealed all the cracks as suggested by my more experienced friend. Now it’s probably a 5 star box, but I had to spend more money and time to make it so. Do yourself a favor get a one piece sluice with no holes and cracks!

Way better than a gold pan.
Pretty sweet sluice for the size. Was a little hard to get the water pressure and angel right at 1st. I'm a rook to the prospecting game though. After I dialed it in, it was catching a lot of black sand. (I don't live in an area known for gold)I do live a couple hrs from gold country though:). I am going up to the Sierra Nevada's soon and I'll update how it does. (Mine is the 30 in.)

Ready to gold hunt
Just got it and I got miners moss for it to the moss seems a little thick for it but I am going to try it in it anyway it is made of a good quality aluminum it is not heavy I was hoping it folded but it doesn't no matter it does come with a carpet under the riffles so the miners moss is not needed 1 wingnut cleanup now all I need is a place to go and I am set

Good purchase
Good price. Very compact and folds to a very small lightweight unit. After a while the tabs on the bottom will wear out and collapses in the middle during use but easily fixed by drilling a small hole and placing a screw to lock open or put some rocks in the center.

I tried this product and liked it. Would like to see some sort of stand that is adjustable for when I highbank with it and find a reasonably priced pump to pump water over it continually.

Love it!
I dont usually write reviews, but, this sluice works really well. It was delivered very fast too! I have been panning for a few years and decided to step up my game. I recieved it today and immediately took it to the creek. After a bit of setting it up (i definitely need more practice) I ran a 5 gallon bucket of gravel and found the most gold ever in a single pan, and, the largest flake to date! This will go everywhere I pan!!

It works great! Put together in a few seconds. We tugged it in between rocks in the river and placed a big one on top. Seems to have been working very well. Good construction. After sluicing, just take one of the middle screws out (by hand) and the bad can be lifted easily into your bucket to rinse. It's big enough for little gold diggers like us and small enough to carry along the river without to much hassle. Watch your step when stepping around them slimy rocks in the river or you'll find yourself in the freezing water like I did. Get out there and have fun! No gold yet, but we have only just started :)

Excellent product - does its job
Excellent product - does its job. I needed a foldable unit to fit on ATV and easy transport. So the logistics were perfect. The setup can be frustrating as the folding joints can pop back open with the weight of the water if not supported from behind. Overall I still say it is a great purchase for those that need the folding feature. The only reason I gave it a 4 and not 5 was it needing bracing on the joint while in a stream

Waste of money
Way to small 30 inches long and 8 wide is bull for the cost will be sending it back not worth the money better to buy the moss and make one yourself less then hundred dollars..
