Normal size fit
The reviewers at REI mostly said the shoe runs small. My husband consistently wears an 8.5 so bought an 8.5 and they fit. He’s not too thrilled with the shoe though, says it’s kind of stiff and not terribly comfortable. He just retired solid black Salomons so I think the color may be swaying his opinion a bit. The white is definitely bright!

The run narrow and I had hoped for better quaility assurance
The shoes came with a small defect around the last hole for the laces, it's not that much a deal for me to have them replace but I paid less than half of the MSRP for this shoes. Would I have paid the whole price I would have returned it right away. Leaving the bad stuff aside the shoes have quite a good insole so even though my feet feels a bit cramped they are still comfortable to stand and walk on. Also even though they are quite meant for outdoor activities they look good enough to be used casually.

Comfortable, fabulous looking light hiking shoes!
Love the stylish look of these shoes! A bit pricey, but hopefully they’ll last years. They fit true to size.

Big step up from earth colored running shoes masquerading as hikers
The photo I am sharing in this review is after having worn these for probably three weeks. Just to give you an idea of the general look of these as they begin to wear a little bit. The shoes are quality made and as far as I can tell, everything is high-quality top to bottom. This is obviously not a cheap running shoe that has been slapped over with nubuck leather and Cordura nylon patching. I think it strikes a pretty decent balance between a very comfortable shoe, which it is, and something designed to be heavy duty enough to actually hike in. But would I actually use these to hiking? I’m going to say no, not quite the feel I expect and not quite the amount of firmness and support I expect in a hiking shoe but pretty close. For me, these are the perfect run around every day type shoe that could be worn to work, in the evening, on weekends, doing home projects or yardwork and more. It’s a great crossover shoe that just fits everywhere. I’m giving it four stars instead of five for one very simple reason, the way it fits. I’m just not a huge fan of the kind of narrow and Slim feel I have with these shoes, and it has a relative lack of much arch support, but the letter really is not something most shoemakers can target because of how different all of our feet are. But, just know that this is definitely a shoe that fits quite narrow all the way from your heel to the toebox and it’s the toebox that kind of bothers me just a little bit. It’s not bad enough that I don’t wear them, I do, but it also tends to feel a little pinched from the ball of my foot to my toes after having worn these for half a day or so. Again, this is quite a personal thing, how shoes fit, but there are a lot of manufacturers out there including most of the running shoe manufacturer such as Nike, Saucony, Adidas, Mizuno and almost any other major brand that tend to get the toebox right for the majority of users - and I don’t experience that kind of thing with any of those running shoes. Also, I certainly haven’t experienced it with the low-cut hikers I have owned and used from Solomon, Merrill, Asolo, Vasque, Timberland, and especially Keen’s. All that said, what I really enjoy about these shoes is the actual design flair that they have from the soul of the shoe all the way up until the individual finishes and components all of which are high-quality and good and should last a long time. Where your typical running shoe that is rebranded as a hiking shoe would last you 4 to 6 months of good use, these would probably give you double that. Maybe that kind of a timeframe shocks you but I’m also pretty hard on shoes it seems. All in all, they are a purchase for you to consider when shopping for excellent all-around shoes for almost any purpose.

Well made, and good looking, hiking shoe.
It seems like I have always worn a "hiking shoe" as I find them to be a nice cross-over shoe between a regular tennis/running shoe and work shoe. I always try to have a couple of pair in my closet. As luck would have it, my old pair are ready to be retired to yard duty (the once-prominent soles are almost flat). So I was happy to see a pair, of the type and style I would normally purchase, available for order through the Vine program. And it was in a size 13! This is always a problem size for me to find in a shoe that is in the price-range I am prepared to pay. I placed my order. The shoes arrived the other day and were nicely wrapped inside their box. I've not had shoes from this brand before so gave them a good looking over. They really do look to be well made and sturdy shoes. Better still, they looked rather sharp too. I then tried them on and had my first glimmer of disappointment. It is seemingly my lot in life to order size 13 shoes that are to tight around toe-box of the shoe. But, unlike the boots, I think I can stretch these out to a more comfortable fit. I had to put on the thinnest socks I own to get the shoes on and I took my dog for an extended walk. The shoes seemed to loosen a bit so I have hope. It is just a shame they appear to run, at least for my example, on the small side. The shoes are marked as being waterproof, but I have yet to test them in that regard. Two other things to note, and they may not be an issue for you, but are worth mentioning. First, the tongue of the shoe does not have the little slot (sorry, I couldn't locate the correct term online) that you can run the laces through to keep the tongue from dropping into the shoe. Not a big deal, but all of the shoes I've had of this type have them. The second is that the tongue has fabric that seems to bunch-up a tad on the sides where it is attached to the shoe. I probably felt / noticed this more because of the tightness of the shoes, and it was particularly noticed in the right shoe. I would have easily rated these shoes with five stars if they had fit me better. So, for that reason, I had to remove a star. But they are otherwise very nice shoes.

Low quality product for that price.
I have better products for less money, it’s just very disappointing to pay 150$ for that disgrace, shame on you Kodiak!
