Well designed and fully functional portable two burner counter-top cooking range.
I bought this unit to replace what I later discovered to be a cheap "knock-off" branded as "Kenmore" purchased years ago at a brick and mortar store for $35. I had to remove the back panel and solder some tab and tongue style connections that had been loosely crimped at the factory twice. The Nesco unit shown here features durable (screwed-on) burner connectors and firmly attached rubberized insulated attenuator dial clip and tab style connections. This unit also features a main on/off dial in the exact location where the Kenmore had placed a "dummy" dial that did not even move. Beware of imitations. There are a few units on the market that look exactly like this one.

Just what's needed.
Just received it yesterday. Tried it out right away as some reviewers said it takes too long to boil water. It does take longer for the burners to heat up than my gas stove, but that's expected. Both burners boiled water for me pretty quickly. I did have one issue. The right burner dial turned roughly out of the box. A manufacturer defect with the housing had a bit of kink in the housing interfering with the dial. I pulled off the dial, tapped the kink with a hammer to flatten it, replaced the dial, and it's working just fine now. We'll put it in a drawer in our downstairs bar in case a bit of cooking is needed down there. It should serve our purposes well. It is 1800 watts so we ran a separate circuit to our bar to accommodate it.

NESCO Product fail
Sorry to say , but after only 5 months of use, the small burner stopped heating. The reason this is so upsetting is that I had purchased another NESCO product , a roaster about 2 years prior, and after less than 3 months it stopped heating. The return was harrowing as Nesco did not want to send a label for shipping back to the factory but after a long discourse finally agreed. After sending it back I waited 3 months for the repair and reshipment. Only, They said they would just send me another one by that time. I did get one that looked new, except for a large dent in the outer body. (I think it was just a return and not a new unit.) additionally after only 3 months , the removable rack inside the roaster fell apart, that is, all the solder joints disconnected and the rack fell into 3 pieces and is useless. Now I am faced with the same issue with this hot plate. Arguing for a return label, probably months before it is fixed or replaced by 'who knows what'. I WILL NEVER BUY NESCO PRODUCTS AGAIN! As an aside, Last month, I saw a NAME BRAND ROASTER that was stainless steel, larger, and all kinds of bells and whistles on it at COSTCO , FOR HALF of what I paid at Sears for my roaster. DOH!!

Cooks well; settings suck.
I really like the way it heats up quickly and cooks food evenly. The drawback for me is that neither of the controls work properly. The large burner control I have to turn all the way to the minimum setting (I've used a permanent marker to mark where "on" is and "high" - I haven't found boil or simmer yet). Same with the the small burner, "off" is beyond (to the right) of the maximum setting, and "high" is about 3/4 of the way to maximum. Frustrating while you're trying to cook; that's why I started marking the settings.

It work very well. I've used it a couple of times now. The first time I used it what I made did have a metallic taste to it, but I think that was because I left the pan heating up too long. (The nobs that control the amount of heat what is the minimum amount supposed to do it doesn't heat up that much and I don't think it keeps food hot. Maybe I'm wrong. ) Over all it is a good product I just need to remember that it is not a real stove.

Works as represented, but arrived dented.
I like the unit a lot, but it arrived with a dent, even though the packaging was intact. I can only speculate that it had been repackaged. I inquired about a replacement, but received a response. I kept it and I use it because it was the 3rd such unit (from other manufacturers) that I tried and this one works as represented.

Easy to Use and Clean.
I just purchased my second burner. The first one lasted about 2 yrs before one of the burners stopped working. But I do use it a lot and heats pretty quick and very easy to use and clean. I like it.

It doesn't get any better than this!
Wanted a burner for our RV, rather than having to use propane. This unit works beautifully. With 900w per burner, it does not get any better. If you need a burner, this is the one to buy. I looked for awhile before making a choice. This time I did make a good choice. I highly recommend this unit.

This burner does not heat up according to the specs. it takes a very long time to heat up even a little bit of water. I asked the if i can return this item, and was told that i would have to bare the shipping cost. I have another burner with 900 Watts of power and heats up the same amount of water in half the time.
