We didn't like the insects and weather that traveled through the seams and cracks in our 1980s log cabin walls. I found a contractor who has been repairing log cabins for decades, and he highly recommended this product for the outside and inside. He said that Sashco caulks adhere securely to the wood, and has amazing stretchiness as the logs expand and contract and shift. I'll let him do the outside, but I wanted to do the inside myself. This was easy to work with: 1. Fill larger gaps with backer rod. 2. Squeeze caulk into the crack or seam to fill. I applied caulk to a length 3 - 5' at a time. Longer stretches were hard to clean up because the caulk got very sticky as it dried, and then the wall needed a good scrubbing. When the caulk was fresh out of the tube, it wiped off quickly and easily. 3. Use a wet finger to rub it into the crack or seam, and to smooth it out. 4. Use a foam brush to finish the surface. First I usedJen Manufacturing Inc 2" Poly Foam Brush (Pack Of 48) to get most of the surface smoothed out. Next I usedJen Manufacturing Inc 1" Poly Foam Brush (Pack Of 48) . Then I used the red plastic 1" Sashco brushes for final finishing because they are softer. I kept a 5-gallon pail of water nearby to drop the brushes into, and clean them, and a rag to wipe off my finger. Sashco distributors send out free swatches of the caulk so you can choose the best color for your logs. I chose a color that I thought was slightly darker than my logs, but it wasn't quite as dark as I would have liked. However, it made the walls look much more beautiful anyway: smooth and clean. No more heat escaping through the cracks, No more insects wintering over in them. And no more monsters hiding in the cracks!

This was the easiest caulk I have ever worked with, and I’ve worked with a ton of them, Best used out of the sun and in no heat, otherwise it dries pretty quick and Is harder to work with

Nice texture and color
Used it to caulk cherry walls in my man cave studio. Easy to run a bead and smooth. Takes oil finish nicely. I'd buy again.
