2016 Kia Soul Review
Yes you can use these on a Kia Soul. It just needs to be situated high enough for the bottom legs to rest on the flat part of the trunk door (the black strip). You will also need at least one pack of hatch huggers (2 straps per pack, also sold by Saris $25) for the sides as the Saris website suggests as the side hooks are not compatible. I also bought a pack for the top straps for extra peace of mind. I actually have top and side straps looped through the metal rings that the backseat click into, unless a strap breaks this thing isn't going anywhere. I'd say pretty easy to set up. I'm pretty mechanically minded and everything seemed pretty intuitive. I have neuropathy in my hands and this is the first rack that I can manipulate all of easily, most importantly getting the straps tight enough. I love the additional stabilizing straps on the rack for wheels, pedals etc. Now security, the only reason I dropped a star because it's fussy and adds cost. You'll need a security strap, I have a Thule passive lock strap ($30) you can see it in the middle going into the bottom of my trunk. The only place to put it is around the middle cylinder. Additionally think about how you will secure the bike to the rack, again you will need to use the middle cylinder otherwise all someone would really need to do is cut the straps to get to the feet of the rack. I bought a Kryptonite Kryptolok and ran it through the middle cylinder, it's the perfect length to secure one bike and doubles as a stabilizer for the front wheel. Also, just because it's coming anyway I use my Kryptonite u-lock around the frame and middle cylinder, one of the stabilizing straps on the rack reaches perfectly to secure it in place. I basically am going for making it look as complicated as possible to mess with. Even if somehow a would be thief got through the very strong passive strap, they would still have the chain and ulock to deal with to even get the bike off the rack itself. I can also run the Kryptonite chain lock through the passive lock strap where it straps around the middle cylinder to really make messing with anything a pain in the behind. Performance 10/10! I've taken this out with two very heavy hybrids and felt very secure. Absolutely nothing moved, about a 20 minute ride and since I'm in Pennsylvania over lots of hills and potholes. The real test was the hour long ride to my office building, which will be a once a week occurrence, I'm lucky to work right beside a very nice biking trail. Completely stable, again lots of Pennsylvania roads. Never moved, straps stayed secure. I was able to stop checking through my rear view anxiously like I've done with other racks. If you're on the fence, just buy it. I'm so glad I did.

Great bike rack that will actually fit 3 bikes
I have a GMC Terrain, and did not want to go through the expense of installing a hitch and buying one of those really expensive bike racks that attach to a hitch. Decided to buy this one based on Amazon reviews, and info I gathered from a co-worker who also owns one. It goes on very easily, it is very sturdy and is a great bike rack. I was even able to get 3 bikes on it one time, though, it was very challenging, but it can be done. Overall, I would recommend this rack.

Good alternative for hitch receiver
Got it on deal, but it was a return product, like new. can hold two regular bikes on a SUV without hitch receiver, after getting used to it, installation time getting less, no problem so far for local travel, even on highway.

Adjustable, fits three MTBs, easy on the vehicle
We bought the Bones rack to replace our venerable Hollywood Rack which damaged 3 vehicles over the time we used it. The main problem with the Hollywood Rack (and most trunk racks) is that the weight of the rack bears on the sheet metal of the vehicle, so you have to be careful or you will dent the metal. The design of the Saris Bones rack places the weight of the bikes and rack on the bumper. This is a huge improvement. The 6 straps securely hold the rack in place when it's full loaded. The rack is highly adjustable and will fit any vehicle except a pickup (duh) - and what's great about it is that you can decrease the angle between the lower and upper legs so that the rack protrudes more from the car to make sure wide-handled MTBs don't damage the vehicle. Adjusting the angles of the legs and support arms is a bit fiddly, but you can slide the legs off the ends of the aluminum spline. Being able to adjust the width of the support arms for the bikes is GREAT. Bottom line: by alternating the direction of the bikes, I can get a fatbike and two dual-suspension enduro MTBs on this thing. If three bikes are on the rack, I do have to wrap the stanchion tubes for the forks so they don't get scratched by the next bike. But if you're only carrying two bikes, just use the inner and outer supports. UPDATE: we have some new dual suspension mountain bikes that have trouble fitting on the rack, especially if they're carbon frames. The clamps are designed for round tubes, and even some aluminum frames aren't round. If the bike's top tube is beefy and the rear shock is tight to the underside of the top tube, it could be tricky or impossible to put the bike on the rack. We're also avoiding putting 3 bikes on at the same time because there just isn't enough room for modern MTBs' wide handlebars and forks to easily fit side-by-side. It's still a great product, but owners of new MTBs shouldn't expect to get 3 bikes on at once easily.

Works but can be a pain
I really liked the compact design and the relative ease for use. Unfortunately it is such a pain to install that I tended to just leave it on all the time. It does make using the trunk more difficult and my trunk has closed on me several times. Further, leaving it on for long periods of time tends to allow dirt to accumulate under the pads which wears the finish of the pain unevenly. Sure, this can be avoided with more frequent washing of the car / removing of the rack, but see above...it is a pain to re-install. I still give it four stars because the function it good for male bikes. Female bikes are a challenge and the cross bar they sell for installing female bikes I feel was not a good buy and I only used it a couple times.

Excellent quality
Far superior to other Halford models I've tried. I bought this in particular because it was able to work with both a BMW X3 and also a saloon (BMW 3 series). Set up is very straight forward and I think the design is quite neat - I like how all the cables go through the centre bar. Each bike has 3 of its own dedicated clips. I've only tried fitting two bikes on this but it was very easy to do. The only annoying thing is that the bikes cover the license plate so I've had to buy a spare plate - but that's going to be the case with most bike carriers.

Bad quality, do NOT buy
I had my first bike trunk rack purchased from a store. It’s a different brand. It’s easy to use and flexible to install. My younger one changed to a 20-in bike this summer. As a result, we decided to buy our 2nd bike trunk rack. However, we couldn’t fine one from the prior store. So purchased this one from Amazon. Two arms broken after our 1st time use. We absolutely knew how to use and properly install it. I am very disappointed about the product and seller’s response. It’s almost cost $300dollars after tax. We only used one time and broken. Seller suggested us we can buy two new arms to replace it. I won’t buy any items over $200 dollars from Amazon again.
