3.5 stars - works fine, but there's better out there!
This compression sack seems to be somewhat cheaply made based on the feel of the materials, but doesn't act like it. this sack survived a 4 day trip on the Appalachian Trail in Southern Georgia. The material feels cheap, but I think it's just the lightweight aspect of the material that gives it that feel. however, close examination of the stitching does in fact demonstrate that it is only of acceptable (and not excellent) quality. The sack itself has a pocket which is nice and the zipper feature to seal it all up for storage is also nice. So now the reason I gave it 3 stars: I was close to giving it 4 because it functions tolerably well and the materials (though cheap feeling) did hold up in the field. However, those reading this review would be more interested in it's compressionability. The compression sack works and does compress the contents. However, like all one-way compression sacks, it just causes the contents to bulge out to the side, thus limiting its ability to minimize the content's compressed size. Though this is to be expected because of this sack's structure, I'm basing this review on the relative compressability of all compression bag options. Basedo n that, this sack gets a 5/10 from me on compressability (ok ok, a 5.5!). Summary: If you're looking for a compression sack that will shrink down some contents and control them for you on a casual hike, go for it -- this sack seems to be of sufficient quality. However, if you're an experienced backpacker or looking to pack a real tight pack, I'd spend morem oney and get a better sack.

Good compression sack
Material is a little thin compared to my other compressions socks that I bought 30 years ago but everything is cheaper made now.

worked great
Great compression sack. Economical and durable. I used it for a back pack camping trip and it worked well. I didn't expect nor need it to be anything heavy duty with extreme compression. This might not be for you if that is what you need - though I don't know, it performed well there is just something about it that doesn't give that heavy duty use feeling, but I didn't need that. As a general use, medium duty type sack it was great. Sized right for my need and no issues with performance. Happy with the product and would buy it again.

Really nice jacket
My son likes this jacket because it's warm with the fleece lining but it's not stiff.he likes the big hood and the pockets too. It's a well made coat. It only lost 1 star for length. My son wears an 18/20 and that's the size I ordered but I feel like it could be an inch longer. My son is quite tall so maybe it will be perfect on your kid. I grapped it when it went on sale for $31 so I would buy it again at that price. Probably not for $60.

Meets expectation
I bought this for a 0 degree rated synthetic mummy-style sleeping bag. I was able to fit my bag into the compression sack (though just barely) and the straps held up to a good tight cinching. I had hoped to get my bag a little smaller, but it feels very hard to the touch inside the sack, so I think that very nearly all of the air is out. And it's MUCH smaller than I was ever able to roll the bag. I have only used it once so I can't vouch for the longevity of the compression sack, but it appears sturdy.

Like a turducken.
Folks, make sure you get the right size if you’re trying to put a sleeping bag in one of these. I got one just a bit too small and getting my sleeping bag in there was what I imagine it would be like when those sick people try to stuff a chicken into a duck and then stuff the duck-chicken into a turkey. Show some couth, people. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Anyway, my compression bag ripped a little, but that's only because I was trying to stuff too much in there. Good quality if you use it correctly.

Works well
This compression sack is a little smaller than I wanted, but I can get a 0 degree bag in it with some "manual compression" before I start using the compression straps. It, of course, does not compress like the picture, but that is because it is pretty full of sleeping bag before I start compressing. It is well constructed, and does what I want it to.

Value for your dollar
This is my second Coghlan's both 15L. One I have been using my first one for a sleeping bag, compresses it down nicely to fit more gear in my backpack. I take my time stuffing it and then lean on top of the sack when compressing it down to alieve stress on the stitching hasn't failed me yet, works like expensive brands without the high cost.

Strong stitching and straps
I have a big winter sleeping bag that busted the stitching on the compression bag it came with, so I was wary about any replacement. This one has worked great so far! I don't keep my sleeping bags compressed for long in storage, but I gave this one a solid few weeks in a very tightly compressed state to test it out, and it held together great, no issues.

Not a great stuff sac.
The straps are sewn into the top and bottom end caps which is a light material. There is a strong potential for the light material and the stitching to rip. I have other stuff sacs that the straps go all the way across the top and bottom and completely around the sac in one piece. The stress is on the strap, not the material and stitching. I feel they will take much more stress than the Coughlan Sack. Will use very cautiously...

Performed just as descibed
I tried this for both my 6 man tent (without poles) and my -30˚C mummy sleeping bag. The straps felt sturdy and did not tear after a good heaving on them. My tent was larger than the bag already, but after stuffing it in it compressed down to 10.5" (diameter) by 15" (height). I was quite pleased with that! My sleeping bag compressed down to the lowest this sack would go, and wasn't rock hard yet, so I think I'm going to try out the 15L sack to fit my bag into my backpack easier. They're a great, inexpensive alternative to the expensive camping store brands, and it seems to do the trick just as well.

Seems very weak, but lasted at least 2 camping trips.
From the first time stuffing it, the fabric along the stitch going down the side began to tear and fray. I had to spend a few hours reinforcing all the stitching by hand. Once I did, it seemed to hold up fine, but I'm not confident on how long this will last.

Works well for its intended use
Works as it is intended - compresses its contents well. It’s a bit light-duty in its construction, so we’ll see how many years it lasts with regular use. But, for this past wilderness trip, it performed as expected…
