Not direct replacement for standard plastic door latches
It is nice and the spring loaded action is great (no rattles while driving) but the holes had to be modified so that it would line up with the existing holes in the RV body

Stainless mounting hardware NOT included!!!!!
I’ve bought & installed two of these, one on my work cargo trailer & the other on our camping trailer when the cheap plastic one failed. Love the stainless steel & spring that keeps arm from flapping. Should be the last one to have to buy. ONLY DRAWBACK (& why not 5stars) IS STAINLESS SCREWS ARE NOT INCLUDED!!! Why, why ,why???? Why sell a stainless steel product & have standard, gonna rust in 30days, mounting hardware???? I’m obviously willing to pay you for a quality stainless steel product....gues what??!! I’m also willing to pay an extra $.65 for stainless steel hardware to be included!!! & not have to make a trip to hardware store. Do not install without stainless steel hardware, you will be extremely disappointed & back outside changing the screws out in 30 days.

Helps if your handy!
Used on Cedar Creek fifth wheel. Slightly longer t-hook than original and would cause a need to drill new holes in door piece to use stainless catch , I used original In door and used new stainless t-hook instead on wall and modified length with grinder, drilled new holes, and bent an offset in vice to fit perfectly with old catch. Removed sharp edges by grinding. Labor intense but will last much longer.

Unlike the picture, it has springs.
I returned another brand, since it was going to flop and rattle. This one has springs on on both pieces. Angles are a bit touchy. I had to bend the shaft to get the right side to side angle, and the up-down angle was also important to get both engagement and retention. This might be a downside if doing a retrofit using original mounting positions. #12 screws are a better fit than the long #10s provided. It would be nice if the picture was correct.

Nice to find stainless steel, but the included screws are plain cheap steel.
Much better than the cheap plastic ones. BUT, it comes with plain steel screws. Which will rust. Why can't the company (or any company)charge a buck more and include stainless steel screws. This is just common sense. I bought my own stainless screws to make the installation lifetime. I suggest you do the same for a nice finished look that will last.

Not as pictured. Usable?
I purchased this to replace a broken plastic T-holder on the front door of a 5th wheel RV. I wanted the metal for durability, and after reading the reviews, was even willing to adjust it for the angle issue some reviewers kindly warned of. But the product received doesn't match the product pictured. I was expecting the additional spring holding the T-bar down because I'd read about that in the reviews too. What I wasn't expecting was the metal hook protruding out of the receiver keyhole (I uploaded some pictures). As far as I can tell, it makes the holder unusable because it blocks the keyhole. As long as you don't mount the pieces, it is possible to insert the T-bar into the keyhole by getting the right angle on it but that angle seems impossible to achieve once it's mounted. I showed it to my RV repair guy and he assumed the hook was there to hold the T-bar in place but that the hook is too rigid and/or incorrectly placed. He tried bending the hook into different configurations thinking that maybe I received a disfigured one but nothing worked. We agreed the only solution would be to saw off the hook. Between that, the need to adjust the angle, and his warning that sometimes metal holders don't have enough "give" and end up tearing out of the mounting, I decided to get a refund. I gave two stars because, although I found it unusable (a 1 star), it is solidly constructed and appears to be stainless as advertised. To be fair, maybe we just didn't understand how to use it. I wish some instructions came with it. Seems like instructions for a T-holder wouldn't be necessary, but in this case, I would have appreciated them.

I replaced the faded, black plastic door holder with this and it works great. I no longer have the holder sticking out from the door while driving down the road or opening the door. Adds a little class also! The holes didn't quite line up with the original holder holes, but it's close enough that I didn't have to drill new holes in the door.

Worked but not well as it could.
I installed this but was very difficult with receiver portion that has a sort of spring that the latch must push in and lower to hold the latch in place when door is open. This made it difficult for the latch to easily fit into the receiver portion and also unlatching was just as difficult and the angle of the latch doesn't match up to the receiver since it has to be exact with the receiver spring thing that has to be pushed in and the angle perfect to work. I ended up cutting off the receiver spring holder and all worked much better and the door does not even close to coming undone without that part I cut off and made the latch much easier to operate. To me, it is a poor design and should be better made, but I made it work. Would not buy again. The T latch is one piece bent to make a T vs a solid T which would have worked better. From my last plastic one on an older motorhome I had and sold, I had the plastic and worked much simpler, but thought the metal version would last longer. It likely will last longer, but the holes are different and much bigger plate than the plastic one. I do like the spring loaded "T" that keeps it in the down position when not in use and even may help keep it fastened when in use by applying downward pressure thereby not needing the receiver latching spring steel that I cut off.

Stainless steel and spring loaded
Excellent stainless steel unit and the spring loaded arm ensures it stays attached to the door and stops it from bouncing against the trailer on rough roads. Two things to consider, [1] the arm will have to be bent to line it up square with the door' easily done in a vice [2] the arm will hit the side of the trailer when it is disconnected, easily corrected by gluing a small piece of rubber to the back of the arm where it contacts the trailer [I used a piece of heat shrink tubing] which works well, excellent unit.

Strong set, found stainless a bit tarnished, holes did not match originals. l like the spring as extra security the latch arm will not come out in higher winds.

Nice little upgrade over factory plastic
Great replacement for the original plastic holder, looks sharp and simple to install. Remember, if this is longer than your original rood holder, it will latch further out and you may need to drill new holes. I recommend drilling the new holes on the door side receiver, it's just easier. The original holes matched up fine though, so if it fits for you, just unscrew the old, and screw in the new. Don't forget to put a little silicone in the holes to keep the water out.
