Spelled card game
The children loved the game. I like that it was created from a teachers mind. They enjoy it. Highly recommend if you need to improve the spellers around you. Even adults.

So fun!
My kids were excited to play this game as soon as it showed up in the mailbox. We played to 30 and then 50 points like you are supposed to but we were having so much fun we continued to play for another 30 minutes. Definitely reccomend.

SpellChecked Card Game
My daughter is a bit of a word nerd, so I couldn't pass this game up. She's a pretty good speller (Spelling Bee champ at her school for two years in a row prior to Covid), so we didn't come across any words that would stump her, but I have to admit that I had to consult SpellChecker cards to confirm the spelling of a couple of things. The cards are of good quality: the paper is thick, glossy, the pictures are colorful and easy to identify (although I did not guess "cocoon" and spelled "chrysalis" instead :)), and the words are easy to read. There are different levels of difficulty, grouped by color. There is a hint (the first letter of the word) in a corner, but you can cover it up to make it a little more challenging. If you guess the word correctly, you get 1 point, if you spell it correctly, you get more points (values vary from deck to deck to give novice spellers a chance to win against more experienced spellers playing harder decks). If you guessed the word, but don't know the spelling, you can flip the card over and try to identify correct spelling from the 3 options on the back of the card. Some are really easy and will "pop" right at you, but others may still make you pause and think. The game play is pretty quick, and (for older kids) some "alternate spellings" may give some giggles (my daughter laughed at "pierat" imagining pie rat among other things) The cards come in a sturdy box that is compact and easy to take along and play anywhere. There's space in the box for an additional deck, so if the company releases "expansion packs" you could add one in (or you could make your own cards if you are so inclined). I feel like the recommended age (8+) is appropriate, but you could introduce it to youger kids as well.

Great Spelling Practice and a Fun Game
I got this game for my 9 year who isn't the best speller. I wanted a fun game for us to play that she could practice spelling with. This game is perfect for that! To play, you choose a level for the child and a level for the adult (you can have 2-8 players). The cards are leveled from second/third grade words (pine colored cards) to high school/adult words (turquoise). There are eight levels total. There are easier words in each level as well as challenging ones per level. I love the color coding! You mix the cards for the level you are playing, placing them picture side up. Each card has a photo of the word, the letter the word begins with in the right corner, and if you can name the word, you get 1 point and if you can spell it correctly you get 4-5 points depending on level. If the child can't spell it, they can still earn points. If they need help with the spelling, they can flip it over choose one of three possible spellings and if they choose correctly, they get 2-3 points. I have to admit that as an adult, I got a few wrong in the hardest level! It does give the child the chance to win, which is a bonus. The game is designed to prevent frustration because there are multiple ways to earn points, which is also a pro. We repeat each level a few times til she masters the spellings of the words. It has really helped with her spelling. Most are not sight words though. Very happy with this game and plan to use it to improve her spelling all summer long. This would also be a great game for a teacher to use in small group for language arts.

Easy to learn, nice that it's leveled
I played this with my English class as a first day of school game and they didn't think it was amazing (they are high school aged, but with learning disabilities) but it was nice to have a game that everyone could win. I liked the leveled decks. It was really easy to learn to play and even if spelling is not your forte, there are other ways to earn serious points, so it's a good educational game. I would definitely use it for a reading class or for elementary and middle school students. High school can use it, but it wasn't fast paced enough for them.

Great spelling game that works with all different ages and levels
Spellchecked is a fun spelling game that pits speller against spellers. The box contains 208 cards where 200 are Spelling cards and 8 are Spellchecker cards. There’s an easy-to-follow instruction sheet that explains the game, how to play, and how to win. The Spelling cards are divided into four ability levels. Each card shows a familiar image, gives the first letter of the word, and asks the player to identify the image and spell the word for points. If the player cannot spell the word correctly, the card is turned over to reveal three possible spellings. If the player can choose the correct spelling, they receive a fewer points. The first player who reaches 30 points wins! A great game to learn how to spell with options and picture cues. Start each player with the level they are capable of spelling and all ages and levels can play. It’s ideal for anyone aged 8 and over, and it can be played with groups of 2–8 players. Great game for our summer review time with the boys.
