Great gloves; paint peels
** EDIT: I originally rated these gloves at 4 stars due to paint peel, but after trying on more gloves from other brands, the fit and quality of these are so nice compared to some of the other 4.5 stars I've seen on Amazon that I wanted to bump it to 5 stars to be fair. First off, let me say that I love these gloves. I used a pair of Everlasts heavily for a year, which were also good, but you can feel the upgrade and luxury in these babies. They feel great. I'm 6' with average-sized hands, got the 16 oz. gloves, and the fit is nice and snug with my wraps on. I definitely like the snugness, although they are less breathable than other lighter-weight material (but not to a point of being an issue). The weight balance feels superb - maybe it's psychological but they feel lighter than my 14 oz. Everlasts which were front-heavy. The foam is surprisingly more sturdy and stiff than I had imagined. While this makes me feel remorse for my sparring partners, it definitely protects my hands well. 3 months of light-to-moderate use and no noticeable degradation in foam quality yet. My favorite part is the aesthetics. I got the white gloves which look amazing. They are incredibly stylish, stand out amidst a sea of standard black gloves at the gym, and people definitely comment on them. However, they are not perfect, and please be aware of these caveats. In the ~3 months that I've used them, about 3 times a week, the following has happened: 1. The stitching on the inner finger-tip area of one of my gloves has become loose. Functionally this was no problem but it caused me great heartache - these are my babies. 2. The red paint on the seam of the thumb compartment is starting to peel. It's not severe, but it's revealing a long slit of the black color underneath along the seam. 3. The paint on the white front of my gloves has started to give way to tiny but long microfractures, revealing the black base material underneath. The color of the gloves is provided by paint instead of a natural material color, so they peel. Ultimately I don't hold these superficial flaws too heavily against the product - after all, these are luxurious gloves and anything created for the sole purpose to be smashed against hard surfaces repeatedly is expected to have accelerated wear and tear. But know that these superficial deteriorations will happen (or you can opt to buy the black color theme). It's like owning a sports car - you've always wanted one, but when you get one, start driving it, and it starts getting paint chips or scratches, your heart breaks a little every time and you might just want to keep it stored away in your garage for special occasions. I recommend these as sparring gloves as your partners' fleshy heads will be less punishing on the paint than the heavy bag, but please, don't destroy these babies on punching bags. Buy a lesser glove for that. And please buy a glove dog deodorizer for these, it will make them last a lot longer, and I will sleep easier knowing my babies' kin are well cared-for.

Excellent Gloves
I fell in love with some lace-up Ringside IMF tech sparring gloves. They took some considerable breaking in. I bought a pair of these training gloves in 16 oz, and they were a bit small inside. I broke them in by shoving them full of packing paper and that helped. I broke them in a bit on the bag. They loosened up but were not acceptable for me. Some odd design flaw makes it hard to make a fist which for me, becomes extremely fatiguing to my hands. The left was worse the right. I cleaned them up like new and returned them (So someone's getting some nicely broken in 16oz gloves). I called Ringside and they said that the 18 oz gloves ARE slightly larger inside. I bought them and they're much better for me. After breaking them in it's easier to make a fist and they work well. I bought some Everlast Powerlocks in 18 oz at the same time, deciding to return the ones I liked the least. The position Everlast powerlocks put your fist in, is far superior to these Ringside gloves, BUT the IMF tech is far superior to the layered foam the Everlast gloves use. So I stuck with these. I can use these to hit various bags as hard as I can and they offer great protection. I was using some 16 oz Venom Elite gloves for most of my training and sometimes my thumb would hit the bag during hard hits, and I would feel a bit of a jolt/pain in my elbow. Both of these issues are remedied with these 18 oz Ringside IMF tech gloves. Can't give 5 stars, they did not "Wow" me by any means.

Great deal for $80.00!
Best sparring gloves I've owned. The best thing about them is that they're weighted properly. Makes em' feel lighter. In fact I had a hard time believing they were 16oz gloves! It's the weight distribution and the compactness of the way the foam is injected into the padding that's really nice. These sell around the internet for anywhere between $100-$130. Got em' for a STEAL on amazon for $80.00 (before tax). Can't beat Amazon's price, and these are quality gloves. If you can afford to...keep these off the bag and only use them for sparring. That way they'll last. I don't think the leather is of the same thickness and quality of a glove made in Thailand. I have a separate pair of Twins (12oz) and Fairtex (16oz) for bag work. I recommend Twins, Windy, or Fairtex if you only can afford one set for both sparring and bag work. The Thailand made gloves (especially the Fairfex) are built to last. These Ringsides will be my babies that I'll only use to spar with. But that's because I'm spoiled! :)

Excellent but hand compartment way too small
These are excellent quality gloves with nice materials and great padding, BUT, the hand compartment is way too small. I do not have exceptionally large hands, about 9 inches around just under the knuckles. Based on this measurement the Ringside website recommends a 16oz glove. I ordered an 18oz pair just to be safe because I had heard these run small and even the 18oz was just ridiculously small, I mean smaller than Cleto Reyes. With wraps on they were too small to be usable for me and I had to return them. That being said, if you have small to medium hands these are probably a great fit for you.

Excellent, comfortable bag gloves that will not disappoint
Excellent pair of bag gloves. Have been a customer of Ringside dating back 20 years and these gloves do not disappoint. Bought about 2 months ago and have used pretty heavily (few times/wk). A little more expensive than other standard gloves but very comfortable and no break-in necessary. Far better than the stiffer Ringside bag gloves I've used in the past, so they're much more shock absorbing for a heavy session on the heavy bag without too much bulk in padding. Pretty decent wrist support. Have yet to see any wear in usual areas (i.e, fingertips or in the thumb area), but would have to revisit after 6 months. Opted for the hook & loop wraparound velco gloves as they are easy to get in/out of without assistance (especially for a drink of water).

It's okay.
I liked these for the first two months, but there's some weird tightness issue with the left glove. Some piece of hard padding or board inside the left glove is uncurved/uncurving or something, and pushing against my knuckles and causing some pain. I ended up getting gel pads and using a different wrapping style to counteract this since I ended up busting my knuckle and couldn't even use it for a few months (apparently I'm lucky that my knuckle eventually healed), but the gloves are still tight and it's hard to fit the wrap+gel in there.

More bang for your buck... LOL
The gloves are quite stiff at first and need some breaking in. That being said, they are really protective and you can throw punches as hard as you like without holding back for fear of breaking your hand. Great product. Only bad part is that they have safety information stitched into the inside of the cuff which can irritate the skin (not a problem if you wear wraps like you're supposed to).

Tiny !!
Had high hopes for these; they are really well built but returned them due to several setbacks: TINY ! i got the 16oz gloves (i use 14 otherwise) and my hands were in serious pain after 15 minutes of light bag work; the cuffs, although provide amazing wrist support, run long and a bit too far up the forearm. Opted for Ringside gloves instead - much better hand compartment and much more comfortable.

Liner Caused Laceration
The liner in the gloves scraped the skin off both my middle pinky knuckles after using these for some bag work. I've never experienced this with any other glove in my life. I called Ringside to ask if I may have got a defective pair or something. The lady said that there is no way there can be anything wrong with the gloves, and that I should just tape my pinky finger. Wish I would have just spent a bit more money and got better quality gloves.
