Good to start with but will switch out later
Nearing middle age I'm new at boxing, and read about how this product is for 40+ and beginners due to the very good cushioning and protection it provides. Here's what I've found after wearing it now in a couple sparring matches, one that got a bit more intense than "light" sparring: Comfort: Not really comfortable at all. It's not unpleasant, but after wearing other family member's gear it's definitely not as comfortable as a Venum product or Hyabusa product. I think this is attributed to how tightly I have to adjust the straps to keep it in place. Protection: Here is where this product EXCELS! This thing has so much cushioning, which is why it's great for people like me who are going to take a LOT of shots as we start out. I took some hard shots, and the only reason I knew was the jolt not because it hurt where I was hit. The cheek guards do a good job of protecting my nose too. Fit: This fits perfectly, especially with the chin strap being adjustable. Craftsmanship: This is a really well made product. I can see this thing lasting a REALLY long time. With the chin strap being a buckle style, I don't see it wearing out any time soon. Miscellaneous: One of my biggest complaints, and the one that leads to my poor rating of comfort, is that there is no lining inside the headgear. While this is great for quick cleaning, it also means this thing slides around like crazy if you don't put it on tightly. On a final note, this product is approved for competition, so if you ever plan on doing that you may as well train in what you will be wearing during the match.

Tons of protection
Dense thick foam all the way around offers a lot of protection, nose and mouth feel safe behind all the thick padding. If you are going to be competing in masters your headgear choices are pretty limited but this option feels very safe, it will just take some time to get it to fit right. Headgear will require a break in period, the leather and foam are very stiff and the first time you put it on it is really uncomfortable. Had to put it around a soccer ball for a couple of days to get the shape to be more natural. The chin strap is also very far forward so you don't have to worry about it choking you, but it doesn't feel very secure. The top has a single velcro adjustment that is OK (laces are better), but the top after a lot of trial and error can be adjusted to fit alright. Rear adjustment is big thick velcro patch. It'll hold but isn't as good as laces.

Perfect; I have a solution for slipping
My coach recommended this one for me. I didn't like it at first because if I caught a hook to the headgear (not my head), it would twist the headgear around my head and obstruct my vision... leaving me vulnerable and frustrated. I almost bought a new one until I tried something. I got one of those hot-weather, thin, multi-use sleeves. Like the ones you can use as face shield from dust and debris, balaclava, do-rag, or beanie. I cut them into quarters, just enough to wear as a ultra thin headband for my forehead. This stopped the slipping. Also, I like it because I can wash the headbands and wipe the headgear clean. The suede-style ones most people have are hard to get clean. Anyway, I want to keep my brain cells, so I use this one.

Really only good for hobbyists or people that want protection for their face
Good if you want to avoid a black eye or busted nose at all costs. BUT there is MAJOR downsides to this headgear if you're a serious combat sport competitor I definitely would not recommend. Like someone else said the headgear is bulky and really obstructs your field of vision so if you keep your chin down like you're supposed to you're going to be at a disadvantage as you can't see your opponent's hands and head as good and if you raise your head for better vision you leave your chin exposed and have less visibility on their lower body (for kick boxers). Also the parts that cover your cheeks make it hard to really keep your hands close to your face with 16 oz. gloves. Honestly you're better off with a lighter more open face head gear and just learning better head movement and defensive footwork to avoid and block hits to the face. Because with this you will be getting hit a lot with shots you didn't even see coming

Medium fits pretty good, and I could probably bought a Large ...
I have a 22.5 inches head, and I bought a Medium. Medium fits pretty good, and I could probably bought a Large and it would fit well too. The cushion/padding is remarkable. I sparred with it today and my sparring partner and I was slow sparring. I didn't feel any punches. The cheek protection really covers my nose (I have a flat Asian nose). You sweat a lot in it, so I do recommend a sweatband or be ready to wipe your eyes with a towel between rounds. I like the product and yes I prefer a Winning FG-2900, but if you are on a budget like me then get this one.

It’s ok, but prefer the new title headgear
Pros- good protection for head, cheeks, and nose. Quality seems good Cons-slips and slides. Used a large in my first bout and was all over the place. Medium fits my head nicely, but the cheek protectors really obstruct view. Returned the medium and ended up buying the newer title headgear in a large. As of 03/2019 title offers two choices for headgear and ringside offers one choice for masters. I have not tried titles older model My size - 160lbs, 5’7.5”, 22” head circumference

Best protection you can get
Great bag for your buck! I’ve taken hits from guys 60+ pounds heavier than me in it and it protects great!

Bargain gear and worth it.
Great gear! Well built and works like a charm with lots of protection but at the cost of field of view. Well worth the money if you need the protection. I think they run a touch small since I went by the sizing chart on their website, ordered a large and needed a bigger size... If you're at the upper end of the recommended size maybe go larger, otherwise awesome deal!

Happy with this
Great piece of equipment. Have used it lots, very little slippage, cinches tight and good protection. Masters approved, just what I wanted.
