Meh

I've had this for a few years now and only used it about a year. It worked ok for picking up little spills, but those could have easily been done with a broom. It didn't work too well on carpets as it always seemed to leave a little bit behind. Frankly, I think it was a waste of money. It doesn't even work anymore as I had it stored in a closet for a few years and found it again a few weeks ago. I plugged it in to charge and the light came on, but when i went to use it the light was no longer on and it won't work at all. Its going in the garbage as I have no use for a broken hand vac.

Great vaccum, Terrible battery

We got this as a wedding gift. It works fine and it's simple to use, but the battery life is horrible. At first, the battery lasts plenty of time to vaccuum your floor. Then after 1 year my battery only works for less than 1 minute! I've cleaned the filter and charged it, but it still only holds about a 1 minute charge.

Could be better....

Simple and to the point....good for small clean-ups, but bad battery life.

Powerful, but poor battery capacity holds it back

At first glance this appeared to be the ideal portable, easily stored hand-held vacuum. It had decent power, was fairly light-weight, was easily maintained and got the job done. However, after a short period of use it became apparent that the poor battery capacity was outweighing the positive side of the vacuum cleaner. Look elsewhere for your vacuuming needs.

Another Euro Pro disappointment

In the last year, I have had 3 Euro Pro products break - this cordless vac was number one. First, the recharger almost started a fire, but I blamed it on the outlet and bought a new recharger. Then the battery charge lasted less and less time. Then after about 4 months infrequent use, it died completely. Since I had lost my receipt, I was stuck. Then I bought one of the corded Ultra Sharks which died after 6 weeks use, and to send it back to the company AND pay the shipping to have it returned would cost as much as it did to buy. In the meantime my steamer died too. I will NEVER buy anything from this company again.

Best portable yet...

We've tried the Black and Decker and dirt devil. Even had a Royal portable with cord. The Shark is as good as the Royal, but it doesn't need a cord. We've owned the Shark for around 4 years. It's realiable and strong!

Same problem as others - battery!

I've had this vacuum for some time (two years?) and hardly ever use it. The battery has lost its ability to hold a charge over time. It lasts less than a minute. It was a waste of money and I'm throwing it away. Besides the battery issue, it has a rather large footprint and takes up a lot of space. I would recommend Black and Decker's handheld with the removable batteries. You won't get as many attachments but then what good are the tools if the battery doesn't last for more than a minute?

Wonderful appliance for household use!

My previous hand-held was a DustBuster cordless vac. As its name implies, in my experience, the only thing it *could* pick up was, well, dust. It was not effective for picking up plant soil, sugar, etc. I needed to upgrade to a stronger appliance. We purchased the Euro-Pro Shark Deluxe Cordless Hand Vacuum about a month ago. I wanted to wait that long before offering my opinion. Well, I am here to say that it is, hands down, one of the best purchases we have made to date! We live in a condo and found that the Shark is ideal for picking up anything from leaves and dirt...to heavy beads (I had a little accident with my craft kit...the beads were the same dark color as my carpet so I used the Shark to remove them!). And, yes, the Shark does pick up bolts (we wanted to test the commercial!). We have used this product for cleaning out our car after a beach trip (GREAT with sand!); cleaning the foyer of leaves and dirt, cleaning the stairs of dog hair, cleaning the kitchen of spills, cleaning the bathroom of human hair. Its potential is unlimited! The suction of this vacuum is 1000 times stronger than the DustBuster! Also, the charge of the DustBuster ran out *very* quickly. The power lasts MUCH longer with the Shark. Unfortunately, I have not timed its usage before charge drainage but I have yet to run out of power while in the middle of cleaning (this consistently happened with the DustBuster). This Shark model comes with four attachments...all of them useful! It has a large brush, a small brush, a long tube and a small tube. The brushes can be attached to the tubes as extensions or the tubes can be used alone. All the attachments and the vacuum unit are conveniently stored on a single stand. However, Euro-Pro calls this a 'charging stand.' Once you take the vacuum off the stand, it is almost impossible to get the charging wire back into the vacuum while on the stand. I have to bring the wire over the stand to plug it in. A minor flaw in the stand design but that does not at all take away from the excellent features of the Euro-Pro. In summary, I would recommend this item to anyone! 5 stars out of 5!
