Works well
I needed a vacuum shaver to replace my (2nd) Philips one that they refuse to warranty. I'm done with Philips and now giving Remington a shot. The vacuum on this works better than the Philips one and handily pulls in most hairs. It isn't whisper quiet, but it IS a shaver so yeah, there's some noise. My only real complaint thus far is the adjustment of the comb. It is purely mechanical by plastic. You have to remove the comb to change the head (which is really easy) and to empty the vacuum chamber. I fear the plastic piece(s) will break prematurely with regular removal. You also have to be really careful to get it in the same place. Other similar shavers have a much better way of adjusting the comb, but it's not a deal-breaker. Stay away from Philips - try this one.

Great Until Vacuum Dies
I bought one for myself and one for my dad to shave our heads. I can't stand hair everywhere and love the vacuum feature, which works really well. It gives a close trim, with a couple of passes. I got about 2 years of weekly or less use before the vacuum stopped working on both. I'd have given it 5 stars if not for the vacuum dying on both. Obviously, this is an engineering flaw that should be corrected. Still only costs as much as 2–3 trips to the barber, so I'll likely be buying another.

Planned obsolescence?
This shaver served me great after I bought it in January 2021 – it cut reliably, captured most of the trimmings, and held a charge decently. I used it about once per week and followed the manufacturer instructions to save the battery (such as discharging it every so often). In May 2023, less than three years after I bought it (but four months after the product service window closed), a flashing green light began blinking while it was running. A few days later, the motor stopped completely as I was using it. Whenever I press the power button now, the light flashes but the motor won't turn on – no matter how long I plug it in. Based on my research, there appears to be no way to repair this model or replace its battery. The way that light flashes reminds me that I'll probably have to buy a new one – now, for $10 more than the last one cost. I know many products have a limited life these days, and this tactic isn't limited to Remington shavers, but I still think it's wasteful and unfair. I would probably buy this again, but would much, much rather not have to.

Great vacuum trimmer, just a little loud
This Remington vacuum beard trimmer is much better designed than my old Norelco vacuum trimmer. That one stressed the side tabs each time you opened and closed the lid to empty it, until one side would inevitably break. As soon as I examined the Remington it was obvious it did not have that flaw so hopefully it will last. I thought the vacuum worked well on the old trimmer but this Remington is clearly stronger, which is great. It's not going to get every last hair but it definitely gets the vast majority. I don't bother with the adjustable guide comb, I'm just careful as I trim and that works fine for me. Battery life is excellent, lasted 7 weeks after the initial charge. My only real complaint is that it is a little loud which can get annoying, but other than that it's a great vacuum trimmer. IMPORTANT UPDATE: I stumbled across this when emptying the vacuum chamber. I noticed that the green screen plastic piece looked like it could be pulled out at the bottom and sure enough it did and allowed the whole screen to swing out, allowing full access to the inside of the vacuum chamber, see attached image. This made it MUCH easier to clean the screen under running water, when it was needed. Most of the time you can just take the chamber off and shake it upside down to empty it but after a while the screen collects some hairs, and that's where swinging the screen out to rinse it really makes a difference. I don't know why but Remington doesn't mention anything about this handy feature in the instructions. Come on Remington, add this info to the instructions, your customers will appreciate it and benefit from it. You're welcome! :-)

Stubble Trouble
After the blade assembly on my old Norelco series 7000 vacuum beard trimmer failed recently -- the second such event in the last year -- I decided it was time for a new vacuum trimmer. As I have said before, once you try a vacuum beard trimmer, you will not want a trimmer without this useful feature that keeps cut hairs out of the sink! It seems that Norelco no longer makes the 7000 trimmer -- in fact, some pirate was asking $250 for a Series 7200 model recently -- and the prime contenders seemed to be a Panasonic, a Bell & Howell, and this Remington. As much as I like Panasonic products, that model lacked an internal rechargeable battery. Like Polaroid, the Bell & Howell name no longer denotes a long-time manufacturer of reliable products. So that left the Remington, "Amazon's Choice," which was getting decent reviews and had the features I was looking for -- except one. That is, this trimmer doesn't do "fine stubble." It will cut as close as 2mm, but not down to 0.5mm like the Norelco. This is a bummer to me, but otherwise the trimmer delivers, with what appears to be a durable, well-made design at a reasonable price. The parts click together with precision, and the vacuum feature works well (remember that you have to hold the trimmer vertically, with the cutting head on top). I don't find the comb flimsy, as another reviewer claimed, and the waterproof on/off button resists being turned on accidentally, when the trimmer is packed in a bag, for example. So overall this is probably the best vacuum beard trimmer available at this time, but I hope some manufacturer will introduce a new model that trims finer. PROS: * Adjustable beard length settings. * Comes with additional fine detailing blade. * Vacuum feature keeps sink free of hairs. * Easy-to-clean vacuum compartment. * Good rechargeable battery life. CONS: * Only cuts as fine as 2mm.

It works but.. very noisy!!
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a new vacuum trimmer after my old Philishave one decided to break apart! I found this one within the most reasonable price, and I bought it! It sucks the hair alright, but I only teste on my short hair as you can see in the video.. But IT IS NOISY!! Pros: - Sucks over 90% of the hair (tested on short hair) - Good battery life (shaved over 5 times now and still got charge) - Feels sturdy and durable - Easy to clean the hair compartment (you can wash the plastic compartment under the water) - Fast delivery Cons: - Very NOISY! (watch the video) - The vacuum opening is big, it prevent me from using the blade in some angles - Not water proof (only the blades when detached from the machine can be washed) - No traveller's case (you have to buy a separate carrying case) - I find it expensive for what it is Overall, this is a one option of a vac trimmer.. but could be a better one out there..

Perfect trim, did exactly as advertised
So I was having serious misgivings after reading the reviews but already placed my order. Trimmer arrived in 2 days (delivered even on Good Friday)! Immediately tried it on trimming my goatee and tidying hair on sides and around my ears. I was looking dishevelled with all barbers closed because of COVID-19 and I was due for a trim. Needed a trim of goatee badly. You know what, the trimmer did a perfect job on goatee, sideburns and tidying up hair on sides. Actually, an amazing job. Trimmed goatee to perfect length using the shortest guide number and comb guard. Every hair cut to same length, wouldn't use it as a shaver though, cleaned up with twin blade for shave. Don't know what reviewers were talking about trimmer cutting unevenly or ruining their beard. Easy peasy to use right out of the box. Makes me look as though I went to my barber, that good. I am very impressed.

Works Great!
I own an much older philips version of this and felt it was getting dull, looking around i came across this model from Remington that appeared to be exactly the same and MUCH improved. This was also on sale at a deep discount so it was worth a try. as it turned out i was an excellent unit, trims easily and evenly, and since it's a bigger unit than your standard beard trimmer it cuts more hair with each stroke which makes trimming your beard very fast and easy, the only thing you will need to do is break out the scissors to trim under your nose as the larger size makes it difficult. I'm fine with that as it's not an inconvenience. The vacuum feature actually works! and the catcher is made of a fine mesh so it keeps the shaver clean. And the vacuum feature actually works, i'd say it captures about 95% of the hair cut from your beard. it's an excellent trimmer, i'm very glad i bought it.

Better than expected
I didn't have high expectations to start, even after reading the reviews. I am using this trimmer in my body hair removal studio for pre treatment trims and it has made a huge improvement in my clean up. I used to use a regular beard trimmer, followed by a dust buster, and often then followed by a full-size vacuum to clean up. But now this little trimmer/vacuum cleans up 95% of the hair. It has a couple more steps than a standard trimmer to clean it after each use, hit for me it's worth it. The guard is adjustable and removable. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a stand to sit or charge in. It's about double the size of my old trimmer which did have a stand, so it looks a little unkept just laying on the counter.

Meh..
Not really worth it. Poor design. Flimsy comb. Would have break it already if it wasn't that I read reviews and people were saying to be careful. Worst part is not being able to trim beard under nose appropriately. Adjustable comb doesnt allow to reach under nose. Other short cut trimmer can't do guided desired length trim. Been using old original Wahl for 30 years now and still going strong. Even getting sharper over time. Went through like 4 different power cables over the years. I like a precise trim for beard. Still gonna use it a bit. Maybe as a spare or for travels. Put your money elsewhere.
