Just let the wieght do the work don't push

I was scared it would be to aggressive but as long as you don't put to much pressure and just let this heavy wieght do the work this thing is amazing . The gold is unreal. I love it!!

Super razor. My new favorite!

I absolutely love this razor. I've used it all the way up to adjustment level 4 thus far. It has given me a problem free, buttery smooth shave that just seems to glide along my face. I previously owned a Merkur 34c which though very well made, I felt it sucked for the price. Shave not close enough even when I used feather blades. This razor gives me a much, much closer shave than the 34c. I've used feather blades with it and they are very sharp but rough. Personna blades are just as sharp but very smooth. The Merkur Futur combined with a Personna blade gives me the perfect close, comfortable shave. I will admit I wish the handle had knurling on it but the smooth handle did not give me any grip problems even when wet.The head is extremely wide so it can be a bit difficult at first to shave the hair underneath your nose but you can get it with the right angle. No problems shaving anywhere else on my face with this razor. The pop off handle is easy to use, just place your one finger on either side of the safety bar and pull upwards. To change settings I can twist the neck of the handle or place a towel around the head, then twist the head around to the specified setting. All in all this is the best double edge razor handle I've ever used and it will be my go to shaver from here on out. 1/20/2015 Update: I finally built up the courage to try this razor on setting 6 which is the highest adjustment. Shave was still buttery smooth, but much closer than on lower settings. I normally only use a six blade razor on my head because they have always cut the closest. Well after seeing how well this razor did on my face with level 6 setting, I decided to try it on my head with the level 6 setting. Wowsers! This razor gave me a closer shave than even my six blade razor is capable of. I can't tell you how astonished I am by that. Now I have one razor for my face and head. And it shaves very, very close with no sign of razor burn in either area. What a great product.

German Shaving Perfection

If I had used the Merkur Futur as my first DE razor I wouldn't have bought another razor. It is THAT good. The Muhle R41 is purported to be slightly sharper than the Merkur, but I have used the Futur on setting 6.5, dialed all the way to the stop, and personally I don't want anything more aggressive. It shaves insanely close on setting 6, but I routinely use it on setting THREE. As with ANY DE razor - use the lightest touch possible. This is a HEAVY razor so let the weight of the razor do the work. The only negative is that the head of the razor is large, which makes shaving under one's nose difficult, but not impossible. The positive side of this is that the Futur's head also conceals the razor blade's overhang. One Youtuber said that the Futur is a flawed design and extremely dangerous, to which I say, "BS." It is a poor craftsman that blames his tools for his mistakes. Is the Merkur Futur an aggressive razor? Yes. Is it dangerous? All DE and SE razors are dangerous if used incorrectly or without giving them the proper respect. Is the Merkur Futur dangerous to load? Absolutely not if one uses caution and common sense. Personally, I have not cut or nicked myself once with this razor. I was amazed at the initial shaving results that I achieved and with the razor's audible feedback. It sounds like one is raking dry leaves when shaving a three day growth. This razor is generally NOT recommended for beginners, BUT I think that if one sets the razor on setting 0.5, learns to use ZERO pressure, and learns their beard growth pattern....this may be the first and only razor that they'll need in their lifetime. Lastly, let me say that the gold finish on this razor is simply beautiful. This razor is a German work of shaving art. I'm glad that I bought this well made, beautiful, close shaving razor. It is heirloom quality.

Just what I needed to clean my skull.

Since going DE I have found that my face and skull have different needs when it comes to shaving. My face likes the Merkur 34c loaded with Feathers. My skull likes Merkur blades and hates Feathers. With the 34c loaded with Merkur blades my skull is not baby smooth. So I picked this up. Now I have a 34c with Feathers for my face and this Futur set to aggression level 3 with Merkur blades for my skull and both are now smooth as can be. It looks like these have gotten even cheaper since I bought mine. A year ago these gold ones were ~110$. I got min at ~90. At 80 you just can't argue with the price. I have heard some people say that the smooth handle is a problem when wet, I have not personally had any issues with that. The weight on this is very pleasing and the blade changes are literally a snap as you just snap the top off, drop in a new blade, and snap the top back on. I also have to rave about the acoustics of this thing, it sings as it goes through your hair, you can hear every hair as it is cut, amazing. One thing of note: if you are thinking of trying out DE shaving make this your second handle, it is not a beginner's handle as you risk spending your time messing with the aggression level of the blade and not developing proper shaving technique. For just starting out, I recommend a 34c. Once you have your shave dialed in, I hardily recommend this handle. As for the gold plating: It does add some great pimp-factor but I was worried it would wear off. So far it is fine. If it does wear off I'll be back to take some stars off this review.

Merkur futur gold elegantissimo rasoio di sicurezza

Rasoio massiccio e qualitativo preso nella colorazione gold elegantissimo. È un rasoio costoso ma di grande qualità e si capisce il perché . Ghiera regolazione meccanismo funziona benissimo, posizionamento lametta e blocco perfetto cose che in rasoi a buon mercato non sono assolutamente a questo livello. È un rasoio per chi ha già dimestichezza in quanto il gap guardia /lametta é pronunciato anche a livello 1...arriva a 6. Il rasoio é estremamente efficace anche a liv 1, già solo una passata nel verso del pelo rasa in maniera profonda paragonabile ad uno shavette, ma non irrita e la rasatura é confortevole. Nonostante abbia la pelle abbastanza sensibile provato a rasarmi con questo anche ogni due giorni( però si avverte una leggera irritazione in quanto la pelle é ancora troppo sensibile) ma l'ideale sarebbe farne passare anche 4 o più giorni . Come pressione personalmente Il peso del rasoio basta e avanza come detto bisogna fare attenzione (non consigliato ad un neofita). Unico neo é scivoloso in quanto totalmente liscio, la regolazione della ghiera va fatta con estrema cautela e mano asciutte c'è il rischio di tagliarsi, la testa é grossa quindi le aree intorno al naso ed orecchie sono difficoltose da rasare con rischio taglio se non si fa attenzione . Tanta qualità va accompagnata da lamette di livello (ma sono scelte personali) e saponi da barba (come già detto chi si avvicina al mondo della rasatura ci vuole un buon montaggio e preparazione, no schiume da barba istantanee poi anche li degustibus). Calidad Alemana, Afeitado perfecto

Lo principal es que la calidad del cromado en oro es excelente, es una pieza hermosa que reluce en la mano. Tiene desde el ajuste mas bajo una apertura considerable, pero en el afeitado se nota una baja exposición de la hoja de afeitar, por lo mismo permite obtener un afeitado muy al ras sin causar irritación. Pero es un rastrillo al que hay que poner atención ya que la apertura puede causar un corte si uno no tiene el cuidado necesario. Está implicado que es necesario un muy buen jabón deslizante y una buena hoja de afeitar, en mi caso, mis preferidos para emparejar son Tabac y Feather. Si te lo puedes permitir, elige el dorado, no te vas a arrepentir.

Ottimo prodotto

Mi sembra un ottimo prodotto e del peso giusto per poter radere bene ma quello che non riesco a capire perché non inizia la corsa a uno precisamente e non finisce la corsa a sei precisamente. Mi pare ottima l’idea di poter cambiare la regolazione per far in modo di adattarla al numero di giorni in cui sei rimasto senza fare la barba. Si vede che è un prodotto che ho fatto in Germania che mi pare sempre un mercato molto esigente per quanto riguarda ogni tipo di prodotto dall’elettronica a quelli più semplici come questo di metallo. Certo avrei preferito provare anche il rasoio di categoria superiore dello stesso marchio ma mi sembra che abbia davvero un costo esagerato.addirittura ieri in un negozio a Roma mi hanno detto come prezzo se non ricordo male 450 €.non ho idea di quanto quell’altro modello costi qui su Internet e non mi pare nemmeno che sia in vendita. Ottimo modello anche per il rapporto qualità prezzo, comodo e del giusto peso per far sì che faccia il suo lavoro da solo quasi. A proposito di inizio e fine corsa non tarati bene qualcuno mi sa dare delucidazioni? Grazie mille per l’aiuto.

Grande rasoio in tutti i sensi

Un rasoio fantastico veramente bello ben costruito ma soprattutto secondo me funzionale. Facile nell’utilizzo. Certamente un po’ pesante ma non inficia la sua funzionalità. Io mi trovo molto bene sono felicissimo dell’acquisto. Solo lo consiglierei a chi ha un po’ di esperienza nella rasatura tradizionale con i rasoi di sicurezza. Ottimo acquisto

Bellissimo ed efficace

Mi è stato regalato e per ora l’ho usato una sola volta, ma abituato al EJ89 la differenza è stata subito netta. Montata una gillette silver blu che con l’89 proprio non ne voleva sapere di tagliare, anche regolato solo ad 1 si è rivelato molto più incisivo e sono riuscito a sbarbarmi bene. Il fatto che abbia già dai minimi settaggi una lama abbastanza esposta e che poi si possa alzare tantissimo, in aggiunta al suo peso notevole, mi lascia pensare che difficilmente ci saranno lamette che questo bestione farà fatica a digerire. Anche se siete neofiti non abbiate comunque paura, io non ho alle spalle anni di rasatura, ed avevo usato prima solo il dolce EJ89, ma regolato ad 1 l’ho trovato comunque gestibile. Incisivo ma delicato, non serve certo essere dei pro per usarlo, basta quel minimo di manualità acquisita con qualsiasi altro DE. Contentissimo davvero, straconsigliato!
