Large Numbers, Easy To Read, Retracts Easily.

⁃ I purchased this item due to the large numbers printed on the ruler and the ruler’s non-reflective surface. ⁃ I sell things online and a lot of prospective customers have always asked me to send them a digital photograph of the item with a ruler/measuring device side by side, or asked me for the measurements themselves. If the item is very long or wide, even if you use a normal measuring tape, the numbers don’t show on the photographs where the smaller measuring tape has been used and are illegible, defeating the purpose of using the measuring tape to show the length of the item/items. ⁃ With this retractable ruler, the numbers show up clearly and since I take the photos in a room with light, there is no reflection on the photographs. ⁃ When using the ruler, when pulled gently, the ruler opens up and there are clicks on the ruler to get it to stay at the last position/length you have pulled/placed it in. ⁃ Retracting the ruler after use is easy; there is a button on one of the sides which when pressed, retracts the ruler back to its ‘original/initial’ position, zero measurements. It’s spring-loaded, so do it slowly. ⁃ I compared it to a ‘regular’ Sure Bilt 25 ft measuring tape and the measurements are similar which is a good sign as the Sure Bilt is an accurate measuring tape. ⁃ It has a belt loop looking holder at the beginning which allows you to hang the ruler vertically on a nail/screw/bolt or lay it out horizontally while clasped onto a nail/screw/bolt. ⁃ Since this is my go-to measuring tape from now on for online sales’ photographs, I’ll be using it a lot. I will update this review in case the ruler stops working for no reason/prematurely.

Awesome, but heavy. Heavy and bulky.

The tape is adequately readable and durable. It's rather heavy and bulky though, at least for in a backpack situation. I purchased this tape for my surf fishing backpack. It feels well made and is retractable, which is cool and all, but it's bulk is kind of hard to find a place to put it. And it feels heavy. The triangular shape makes it take up a lot of space in the top of my backpack, that I would rather use for a jacket. I think if they made this a manual wind instead of the spring loaded frame, that might help a lot, or just make a roll up surf tape.. that would be awesome. It would be great for the bass boat, but I already have a measuring board on the boat.

Better quality than I expected

I bought this to use attached to a backpack but it’s very large, so I think it would be better for a boat application. Seems like a high quality product so far, I’m hoping the product stands the test of time. The automatic locking feature and release button allows you to hold your fish with one hand and pull the tape measure out with the other. I’d recommend attaching it to something so you can easily use it with one hand. Only downside is it’s a little large/heavy if you want to use it for a light / medium fishing tackle backpack or tackle box.

I returned it because it is too big

This thing stands solid against saltwater as long as you wash it with fresh water after each trip. Only issue for me, is it's size. Too large for it's function. Maybe a flatter/thinner/compact presentation would be ideal.

Perfect!

Haven’t had a chance to use it yet but it functions great is accurate to all of the rulers and yard stick I tested it on. And seems built to last. Price was right too which is rare these days.

It's big, but very well built

The Rapala retractable ruler is a lot bigger and bulkier then I thought it would be but I'm very please with the build quality. I've attached it to the side of my bag and am able to reach behind me, extend the tape, measure, retract. The retraction mechanism is quick and sure and spools up the tape quickly and completely.

Es bueno, útil por su flexibilidad, tamaño de número bien visibles, largo de la cinta apropiado muy apropiado para mediciones en superficies irregulares, pero definitivamente si hace falta la escala en centímetros, pero la cinta es buena

Perfect for ice fishing

This is a great tape for ice fishing competitions since the numbers are so large and show up great on camera. It's also a really nice rubbery material that you can clean off easily. Good size for in the tackle bag. Stays open and retracts as it should.
