Wonderful.
These dice are simply wonderful. Weight: These dice are quite hefty. Holding them in your hand has such a solid feel to them, not to mention rolling them. They are loud however, so keep that in mind. In most cases this isn't a problem, a rousing game of D&D is often laud with laughter and cheers (if it's good) so the avalanche tumble of these guys across the table wont cause too much trouble, but I would avoid rolling them on glass or metal surfaces. The weight doesn't seem to have any negative effect on rolling them, and I just love the weight of them in my hand. Design: The steampunk design to these dice is really nice. The numbers are big enough to see within the designs around them and only the d20 sports a design in place of the number 20. I like that feature, but some people might dislike it as rolling a crit might feel less awesome when the dice has a design instead of the iconic 20. Personally I like the symbols, especially what is meant to look like tiny screws in the corners of each side: such a wonderful little detail. The designs are nice, without being too crowded or making the dice difficult to read. Quality: Some more negative reviews have mentioned that the numbers arrive faded or fade over time. I haven't had these dice long enough to attest to the over-time fading, but the engraving of the numbers looks well done to me and I'd be surprised if they wore away even with regular use. Mine appear perfect, each number well carved into the dice. After close inspection I would say there isn't a single side on a single one of the dice I received that looks of poor quality. Functionality: Lastly, these dice function just fine and there is no reason they can't be used for regular play. The only thing that may cause someone to hesitate to actually use these dice in regular D&D or other such games is because of how hefty and loud they might be on whatever surface you're rolling on. This can be easily overcome by rolling on a play mat (if you have one because your a M:tG player or something) or a mouse pad, or place mat. But for most wood or plastic surfaces it won't be a problem. The balance is good, I haven't notice any that seem to roll one number more often than others. These are perfectly functional dice. Conclusions: These dice are magnificent. They are well worth the price for the avid collector. Just plain gold or silver colored dice without designs on them run about the same price, and the designs on these are fantastic. If the dwarven ones are just as good I may have to get those too. I recommend these dice to any dice collector or table top gamer, you will be the envy of your party. (They also make a great gift for your favorite hard-working DM... hint hint.) UPDATE: After having read through the reviews and seen some that mention the dice aren't balanced and so roll low I decided to give it a test. I rolled the d20 100 times and got the following results: I rolled a 1 three times. I rolled a number between 2 and 10 forty-four times. I rolled a number between 11 and 19 forty-eight times, and I rolled a 20 five times. That is an almost even distribution of 1-10 and 11-20 of 50% (the bigger the sample size the closer the numbers will get). While it may seem a good thing to get more high rolls than low rolls, a perfect dice should be balanced to have the same chance of a low as a high. With such a small sample size, 47 low and 53 high is perfect. (it doesn't mean the dice are weighted to roll high more often--the sample size is too small to determine that, but with such a small sample size its bound to be off. If you rolled it 1000 times I'm sure the numbers would be even closer, like 49 and 51, and if you keep rolling eventually it will be 50/50).

I like these dice and everybody in my table wants to roll them.
Summary: I like these dice and everybody in my table wants to roll them. Pros: Design is fancy enough, and they are made of real metal. They are a little hefty, the kind of weight that feels good in hand. They roll well but not a distance as long as regular dice do, they stop a little sooner, so they stay on the table more often. At first I wondered if this could be used by someone to cheat, but after some testing it doesn't look too feasible (except maybe the d4). Some reviews said they could be a little noisy, and while they are it isn't much, just enough to add drama. Cons: Despite my high rating there are a few minor qualms. Some die had tiny little dents around the edges. I made some testing and they look balanced, but I haven't been thorough. If I perform some more thorough testing I will update this review. I also found the d4 to be slightly harder to roll, with the additional weight it slips easier out of the hand and its easier to cheat if you want to. The numbers on the d20 were a little small for my taste, but they are not illegible. The d20 is standard size, but I'd wish it could have been slightly bigger just to make the numbers pop more. In fact, I wouldn't mind a d20 like this sold separately with a slightly bigger size. Conclusion: Despite the very minor flaws, the dice look great and feel great to roll, which is the most important thing. I keep most of my dice in a big bucket where my players can grab them, but this set is so nicely distinct that I can finally have some "dedicated" DM dice that I won't be putting into the bucket.

Really love the design (I have two regular dice sets with ...
Really love the design (I have two regular dice sets with the same design!), mine turned out very legible and nice, and from what I can tell they're fairly well balanced. I've heard some say theirs came dull and beaten, so if I were you I'd be cautious about buying this (I was on the fence for a while), but overall a really nice set. One critique though, albeit minor: there's no dot indicating whether or not a roll is a 6 or 9. On the d10/d% this is less of an issue, but on the d12 this makes it hard to read at first glance. A trick to get around this is to note the opposite side: if its 7 you rolled a 6, if its 4 you rolled a 9. I think this is minor but some people don't, so keep this in mind. Really hope they fix this, as this is really the only thing keeping me from rating it a 5. However, one other critique which I believe is mostly shipping: the dice weren't in proper position. For example, the d8 was where the d4 should've been, and another dice misplace which I do not remember entirely. Didn't seem to effect the dice at all, but it was the first thing I noticed even before opening it. Again, really good product, just add the dot at the 6 or 9! I love the clank it makes when rolling, very satisfying.

Tendency to keep rolling same number
The only thing I don't like about these is it sometimes seems that it will keep rolling the same number no matter what depending on the surface with the D20. Like I keep rolling 4s on one table, 18s on a mouse mat, 2s on a metal table, but 7s on a different metal table. Haven't tried glass but maybe that will make it more random if it breaks through? Either way I use my plastic version of the steam punk ones as they seem more random. But sometimes you really just want to hear your dice roll on that life or death charge with the enemy's lance that your sorcerer greased out of his hand when you're a barbarian riding a spectral horse. Still love them for collection though.

Beautiful and usable
Fortunately I got the version that has good detail and contrast on the engravings. They are beautiful to watch, as well as lovely to use. The overall design is great. Other metal dice I've seen are sharp edged and pointy. This are soft rounded, so they roll better and dont damage things, like tables, books, other dice, etc. Each die has its own style, all of them simulating screw in the corners, pipes, gearweels and clockparts. Even d10 and d100 look very cool!

Dice
Nice, heavy metal dice, although the detail and numbers aren't as clear as photo suggest. Because of that the numbers rolled can be hard to read without looking very closely. But altogether very nice feel.

Dice with a professional feel
These truly do feel magical, the weight is weighty but not stupid or uncomfortable, they just feel well, expensive and well made.. I found them clear to read, and love them.. obviously expensive for a set of dice when you can get some plastic ones for a couple of quid, but, these really are proper..

Beautifull design, but hard to read
I think the product itself is lovely! I just personally struggle to read the numbers sometimes. Although disclaimer i have terrible eye sight! I would still buy again cause i love the design.
