Budget Scale for iPhone Shoppers

I got this scale as a gift for Christmas after asking for a new scale with Bluetooth or Wifi capability. This scale has Bluetooth capability, but it's 4.0 Bluetooth and best designed for people with Apple tablets or phones. There is a couple of options for Android apps, but they are very poor apps and are not even capable of transferring over the same figures displayed on the scale. The Android apps also require Android 4.3 or higher. So, I just take a pencil and notebook with me when I weigh myself and write down the data displayed on the scale after a weigh in. My previous scale was only able to display weight and body fat, so compared to that, this scale is an upgrade. It calculates weight, water percentage, body fat percentage, bone percentage, muscle percentage, Body Mass Index and gives you your Basic Metabolism Rate. The weight seems to round to the nearest twentieth, meaning all my recordings so far have been 185.8, 186.0, 185.6 etc (decimal is always even). The fat and muscle percentage round to the nearest tenth (22.0%, 21.9%, 41.1% etc.). You can program several different users into the scale (my previous scale only did two), this one enables up to 10 users. This scale however DOES NOT automatically identify this person just by stepping on the scale, you have have to manually select your user number before weighing yourself. I like the low profile height of the scale as it is able to fit easily underneath a clothes hamper separator I have in the bathroom (easier than my older scale did). Overall this is a budget scale that can give you a variety of data points to keep track of. If you are looking for a scale with Bluetooth, I suggest looking for a different brand. Regardless of which brand you are looking at, check the app market first to read reviews of the app and whether or not the app can work with your mobile devices before making a purchase.

Great scale, terrible app

The scale is great! Once you sit down with the instructions and get your settings in, its really easy to use. However, the app that is used to store your data crashes after its been opened 7 or 8 times on my iPhone 5. Its really frustrating because all of that data is then lost. I've started keeping the data in a spreadsheet because I know eventually I'll need to reinstall the app and none of my data will be there anymore. If they could fix the app, this would be a 5 star review.

Measured My Weight Inconsistently

I had high expectations for this scale. The functionality and blue tooth tracking capabilities were exactly what I was looking for and should have provided the same incentive to a healthy lifestyle that a fitness band provides. Unfortunately, its most basis function, consistently measuring weight, was anything but. I stepped on the scale three times in a 20 minute period and my weight ranged over six pounds from high to low.

This has turned out to be one of my favorite purchases. Easy set up, syncs perfectly with my iPhone, provides the stats and history I need to stay on a healthy course. Great product, great price!

BAD PRODUCT/NO SERVICE

Bought the device to monitor weight loss on my phone. Worked less than 45 days. The warranty is worthless as you are responsible for shipping both ways and a fee. Cheaper to buy a new one. Queried both the manufacture and the merchant without response. DO NOT BUY!

Works great!

It works great. I'm enjoying it. Took only a few seconds to set up. I've already lost a few lbs and being able to keep track of my progress on my phone is really motivating.

I would not recommend this product

I would not recommend this product. The first scale I purchased didn't work out of the box the 2nd one won't calculate BF. I've purchased other Pyle products and I would AVOID them like a case of Ebola.

Very Smart Scale

je suis ravie de mon achat, la balance fonctionne très bien, et se connecte parfaitement avec mon Iphone 5S. Par contre impossible de la connecter avec un Iphone 4, contrairement à ce qui es dit sur le site. J'ai téléchargé l'application comme indiqué et mes données sont sauvegardées sur l'appli instantanément. (Dommage que l'appli ne soit pas liée à un site internet, car si vous perdez le tel et que vous n'avez pas fait de sauvegarde, vous perdez toutes vos données ...) Il est cependant possible de vous envoyer un mail avec vos données en PDF ou CSV depuis l'appli. Elle est suffisamment plate pour être rangée sous mon meuble de salle de bain, son desing est classe. La balance donne plus de données que l'appli n'en note (ex. Kcal et TBW) On peut enregistrer les mesures de toutes la famille. Je recommande.
